ON CAMERA
"I'm sick and tired of waiting for my turn." Emmett smiles as he looks straight into the camera. His eyes are alive and on fire. The camera pans back on him and the tops of his black track suit can be seen. The edges are worn ou. The pulled threads cry out in need of some proper refurbishing. "I'm over everything. I through with being the guy on the brink." Each thread tells a different story in his career. He can easily recall the first time he ever wore it down to the ring. He was younger back then, his nervousness always kept his suit drenched. His age had given him experience. Punching his time card in and out of different rings in different countries had instilled in him a quiet confidence. As he spoke his sure demeanor passivley resided in the background. His bravado was a static element, but it made his actions more dynamic. "This match for you two girls is an origin. You both are fighting and trying to pull your name into prominence. Fresh faces in an industry that has a history long exceeding you and I, you two are trying to make something for yourselves. I can respect that." He smiles and looks down at the camera. From this view his curled mustache takes over as the focus of the lens. He pauses for a moment letting his words sink in deep. "But that respect dosen't do a damn thing for me. Professional wrestling is much more a game of survival than anything else. You have to keep winning the big matches and you have to keep putting asses in seats to keep your neck above water." He could feel the truth escaping his lips. His words were chisiling away at the steel anvil weighing heavily over his shoulders.
"A role model named Gekko told me that greed is good. In professional wrestling the rich stay rich while the hungry continue to starve. I don't wrestle for my health. Everything that I do in the ring is solely for my wealth. A lot of men and women foolishly pursue wrestling for the aspects of competiton and reverence from thier contemporaries. At the end of the day they fight for handshakes and pats on the back... I'm not cut from the same cloth." His mind flashes to the images of mangled men. There are faces he can easily recall. Some of the faces were friends with wide doe-like eyes. When they were younger their dream was to change the world. The times have changed, and priorities along with it. He was a different man. The seveteen-year old version of Emmett Faurve was a skinny kid wrestling for accolades. He was seasoned now, and his drive was just as intense.
"I fight to be so much more than just another good wrestler. I don't really give a shit about anyone in the back either. I fight solely for my own benefit. I devote myself and my body each and every day to becoming a weapon. My body, my mind, and my passion are tools I use to push myself higher and higher. I'm at the point in my career where being called a kid filled with potential is an insult. This isn't my first rodeo, but I still find myself learning quite a bit. My father used to tell me that everyone in life has some degree of knowledge to pass on. So far being in LDFC has shown me that Emmett Fauve is more than another name on the roster... Emmett Faurve, the French Connection... We aren't a one night show. We are the next dynasty in Frontier Grappling Arts."
Emmett then points to his chest as he looks deeply into the camera once more. His pride is taking over, and that silent confidence of his begins to creep towards the forefront. "From the day JPG and I signed our names on the dotted line, the flow of FGA has been sealed. The French Connection brings the bang. The French Connection brings the passion. The French Connection brings the tangibles and intangibles that make good ol' fashioned tag team wrestling the institution that it is today!" He stops. His chest heaves from his excited breathing. His mind is clear and focused on what he wants. He didn't get signed to LDFC because he wanted to add some depth to the roster. He didn't sign to be that veteran mentor to the rookies. He didn't sign to be a leader. Emmet Faurve was here to be a star.
Regardless if you liked it, or not.
"I want you all to take a good look at JPG and me in that ring. I want you all to get a glimpse of FGA's present and its future."
