No man is invincible

Immediately following the last edition of Pride, Shintaro Majima is sat backstage at The New Mid-Atlantic Sportatorium while one of the arena's medical staff is tending to the nasty cut on his head that he suffered in his match against Butcher, whilst Majima himself holds an ice pack to his neck to try and relieve some of the pain - yet despite this, and despite the numerous welts on his body, Majima is lucid enough to speak
Butcher, I told you that I would lift the curse that you placed upon me. Tonight saw me prove that I am a man of my word, and not only that it saw me defeat you on my terms.
Majima pauses for a moment, allowing the medic to clean out the cut by pouring water on it, which also washes some of the blood off the side of Majima's face
You believed yourself to be an unbeatable warrior, who could win any battle the moment you walked onto the battlefield. When I said I would defeat you, you sneered at the idea, you poured scorn upon my claims as you believed that nobody could beat you and it was a matter of time before you walked away victorious. Yet now, I have proven that you can be defeated in a way nobody believed possible, and proved myself to be the true warrior of Lion's Den.
Know one thing, Butcher, a true warrior lives to fight, and the reason they fight is the prize of victory. On the other hand, you only fight because you enjoy it and have never felt the need to improve yourself.
The medic threads the first stitch into the cut, and though there's a brief flicker in his eye that registers the pain, Majima retains his stoic demanour throughout, as the medic continues to stitch the wound
Those blows you inflicted on me may hurt in the short term, but the loss that I inflicted on you is going to hurt you for much longer Butcher. A bruise will heal, a cut will heal - but being proven to be less of a warrior than you claim to be the moment you face true competition, the pain will not heal as you will always know that it happened, and if you try to forget I will be here to remind you.
The medic finishes stitching the cut and ties it off, then affixes a couple of adhesive bandages to the cut. With his work done, the medic leaves to attend somebody else
I said I would defeat you, Butcher, and that is exactly what I did - but that is not all that I said I would do. I said that once I laid the curse you placed on me to rest I would begin to rise through the ranks of Lion's Den and take my rightful place. I may have won this battle, but many more will follow - battles I will now be headed into as the man who defeated Butcher, something which should prevent opponents speaking ill of me for some time.
Opponent after opponent will challenge me, but now I know there is no need to doubt myself due to past failures - and now my opponents will doubt themselves, their spirits broken the moment they realise they will be facing the one man who defeated Butcher in battle, knowledge that will break their spirit long before I break their will.
