In front of a Lion’s Den FC banner, “Prosaic” Bert Frisk stands dressed in his wrestling gear and a Walking Dead “Hershel’s Zombie Storage” t-shirt. He smiles warmly.
Bert Frisk: “When I came to Gibsonville, last week, I loved the looks of this operation. Lion’s Den FC is doing a rad job here.
“Thank you for letting me be involved.”
Bert gives a thumbs up to the camera.
Bert Frisk: “I spent a long time ignoring my calling, ignoring the family business, trying to be different.
“Let me tell you, the harder you try to be different, the more you blend in like just another sheep in the flock.
“I was never honest with myself. I stayed out of the ring because my dad and my brother were so successful in it. But I lost my heart to a woman who loved that ring, God rest her soul, and she gave me the ultimate gift.”
Almost heavy-hearted, Bert drops his head. He kisses his index finger and then points to the heavens before returning to the camera.
Bert Frisk: “Our boy, Robby.
“And when Robby came into this world, and began understanding how things worked, it made me question myself. Question my contribution.
“What am I passing onto my son?”
Bert paused, scratching at his chin before being struck by thought and continuing on.
Bert Frisk: “You see, through my striving to be unique and turning my back on my family I only got drawn back inside that ring. The jealousy I had when my brother headlined shows wasn’t because he was successful or winning.
“I was jealous because he was being himself.
“And through being himself he WAS different. He was successful because he used his God given gifts while I struggled gaffing down cables coz I desperately wanted to be different to them.
“But I never knew what I truly wanted.
“Until you came along, Robby.”
Bert beams at the camera, brimming with pride.
Bert Frisk: “Now I want to pass on the lessons I’ve learn. Share my biggest mistakes and my greatest triumphs with you. As your mother watches over us I promise you one thing…
"I will teach you how to experience your life as for the first time, thanks to you and your mother, I experience mine!”
He pounds a closed fist on his heart.
Bert Frisk: “And in Lion’s Den FC, Robby, our experience begins with Hana Song.
“Miss Song, I’m looking forward to our contest.
“Congratulations on your victory over the Crimson Baroness. That was one Hell of a way to open a show. That Adder’s Kiss? FEROCIOUS!
“But you can keep that to yourself thanks, if you don’t mind.”
Bert chuckles to himself.
Bert Frisk: “I’m really looking forward to testing myself in the ring against you. I mean, we saw you last week. I’ll be doing my best to avoid those lethal feet of yours. Those things are absolute WEAPONS!
“Good luck out there, Hana. I really mean that. I’m going to give you everything I’ve got. I’ll go out there with every intention of putting your shoulders down on the canvas 1-2-3.
“I like your confidence. And how you can kick the head off of someone’s shoulders you SHOULD carry confidence like that.
"But don’t underestimate me. Not for a single second. Because I promise you I will do everything I can to get you locked into the crossface chickenwing.
“Here’s to a great contest. I can’t wait to battle you. Good luck.”
Bert bows to the camera before snapping into a fighting stance, as we fade out.
