Sunshine Scandalous Tony Carmine vs. Johnny Cannon
A yellow spotlight suddenly shines down across the black curtain of the entrance way, whilst the house lights begin to dim down. Slowly, almost in unison with the change in lightning does "Voodoo Child" (Jimi Hendrix" Cover) by Brick + Mortar begins to play. A small ebb of yellow smoke ascends from the ventilators to grace the ramp. The Brit's silhouette emerges behind the curtain, only backed by another daintier image.
"well i stand up next to a mountain
well i stand up next to a mountain
well i pick up all the pieces
maybe even make
maybe make a little sense"
well i stand up next to a mountain
well i pick up all the pieces
maybe even make
maybe make a little sense"
Finally, bursting through the curtain emerges "The British Mamba", Johnny Cannon. The Englishman stands before the live audience in all his strapping glory; as per usual, his cocksure, megalomaniacal grin is etched on his face as he pauses on the ramp, his head raised high and snobbishly to the sky above as he surveys the masses. Standing just behind him is none other than Quinn Goodrich, who edges on the crowd to incite their scorn. Wearing yellow and black MMA style trunks, with matching boots and a black knee brace (on his left knee), the Brit appears ready for action - not due to his attire, but due to the belligerent look in his eyes which is only revealed as he removes his Aviator Sunglasses. His eyes are those of a cold, and calculating individual. Johnny places his shades in his black track jacket with numerous insignias sewn on it, and begins his haughty strut to the ring.
J.A. Aldridge: The following contest is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, being accompanied to the ring by Quinn Goodrich! From London, England, weighing in at 245 pounds! He is “The British Mamba”... JOHNNY CANNON!
"well i stand up next to a mountain
and i chop it down with the edge of my hand
well i stand up next to a mountain
and i struck it down with the edge of my hand
cause I'm a voodoo child"
and i chop it down with the edge of my hand
well i stand up next to a mountain
and i struck it down with the edge of my hand
cause I'm a voodoo child"
Cannon struts to the ring, marching with an undeniable swagger, whilst Quinn continues to taunt the audience, by swinging his arms up, and shouting whatever obscene remarks he can think of. Johnny ignores the audience on either side of him, showing complete indifference towards their opinions. He spurts forward toward the ring, and slides in under the bottom rope, before launching himself to his feet and suddenly spinning to the center of the ring in a very Shawn Michaels-esque fashion, before positioning himself carefully in the middle. He unzips his track jacket, lowering it down his hands and to the canvas below him like a male stripper, before throwing up the offensive, British, two finger salute, eliciting tremendous heat from the crowd.
"lord knows im a voodoo child
cause im a voodoo child"
cause im a voodoo child"
From there, Johnny slowly backs into the ropes, hooking his arms back on them before bouncing several times, beginning his mental preparations and prerequisites as Quinn looks on from ringside; Cannon nods his head several times, as his eyes flicker with a hundred different ideas and strategies to carry out in the match.
Kris Cruise: Cannon’s looking awfully satisfied with himself tonight.
Stephy Auger: Well, tonight’s show is in Vegas and Cannon’s made it well known how much he loves this city. But tonight is a bit of a proving ground for him. The British Mamba comes in as a highly touted grappler. But how will he fare against a former Pride Champion in Tony Carmine?
As RetcH's "Graceful Jewelry Removal" hits, the lights dim and eventually the crowd will begin to jeer. Pink and purple strobe lights starts to flare. Once the bass drops, Scandalous Tony emerges from the curtains with his arms spread out, accompanied by 3 full-figured women following behind him(never the same group of women). He pops the collar on his furry vest before turning his back the ring and utters something to the women behind him. Suddenly he swings back around and slowly struts down the ramp, repeating the lyrics. He takes his purple pick out and starts picking his hair out.
"n****s pussy I should sprinkle them with glitter, for real my n****."
After putting the pick away, he then pulls out a nail filer and starts filing his nails, all the while taking his sweet time to get to the ring as he instructs the females to have the ropes held for him by the time he gets to ringside. With the ladies seated on the middle rope, Tony ignores them and walks up the steps and into the ring on his own. Tony laughs as he stands on the middle rope and looks out to the fans while slowly and seductively taking his furry vest off and throwing it to the group of females as they step off the apron. He backflips into the ring as his music slowly fades.
J.A. Aldridge: And his opponent, now residing out of Boca Raton, Florida! Weighing in at 179 pounds! He is SUNSHINE SCANDALOUS TONY CARMINE!
Kris Cruise: Tony Carmine appears to have his sights set on Mia Scott and the Pride Championship. But before he can get to her, he’s got to deal with Johnny Cannon.
Stephy Auger: Tony’s faced men that were bigger than him before. But he’s facing a man that has the ability to break him down, limb by limb. This isn’t going to be an easy feat for Sunshine Tony.
The bell sounds as Carmine and Cannon circle the ring before locking up. After jockeying for position, Carmine places Cannon in a side headlock. But Cannon is able to slip out from behind and reverse into a hammerlock. Tony then leans forward and reverses into a hammerlock of his own. But Cannon is quick to reach back with his free arm, grab Tony and reverse into a side headlock. After cinching in the hold, Cannon performs a standing switch and turns into another hammerlock. Carmine then leans forward and reverses into another hammerlock of his own. But Cannon reaches back with his free arm, grabs Cannon and throws him down with a snapmare. Before Carmine can get back up, Cannon connects with a stiff kick to the back.
Kris Cruise: Cannon gets the better of that exchange and caps things off with a stiff kick to the back.
Stephy Auger: Johnny Cannon’s got a lot to live up to after his comments from the past week, as well as from two weeks ago when he debuted on FGA programming. I don’t want to jump the gun. But right now, I can kind of see what all the hype’s about. The man just carries himself like a champion.
Kris Cruise: Well, Stephy, there are tons of grapplers here that act the part. But acting like a champion and being a champion are two totally different things. For all of Cannon’s accomplishments and for all of his history and accolades, his yet to win anything inside of an FGA ring. Past glory will only take him so far.
Cannon picks up Carmine and whips him into the rope ropes. When Carmine comes back, he slides through Cannon’s legs. When Cannon turns around, Carmine gets back to his feet and throws out a kick to the midsection. But Cannon catches his foot and spins Carmine around. When Carmine comes back, Cannon knocks him down with a hard European Uppercut. He makes the cover.

Carmine kicks out.
Cannon picks up Carmine and places him in a top wrist lock. The ref asks Carmine if he wants to give up. But Carmine refuses to quit. So Cannon tries to yank Carmine’s from out of its socket, bringing him down to one knee. He continues to keep the top wrist lock applied as Carmine can be seen cringing in pain. The ref goes back to Tony and asks him if he wants to give up. But again, Carmine refuses to quit. He then rolls forward, leans back, kips up and reverses into an arm wrench. But Cannon quickly grabs him by the wrist and reverses into an arm wringer. He then pushes Carmine over onto his back and makes the cover.

Kris Cruise: Once again, Cannon gets the better of that exchange. This time, he sends Carmine down hard shoulder-first into the canvas. That’s got to hurt.
Stephy Auger: He’s also trying to wear down Tony. The former Pride Champion is already at a disadvantage when it comes to sizes in this match. But if Cannon successfully works over the arm, it’ll make it harder for Tony to lift him up for It’s Always Sunny in Sicily.
Cannon picks Carmine back up, delivers an arm wrench and follows up with a clubbing shot across the arm. He delivers another arm wrench and follows up with a European Uppercut to the arm. Cannon then takes Carmine’s arm, raises it over his head and brings it down hard across his shoulder, delivering an armbreaker. He then transitions into another hammerlock from behind. But the hold is quickly broken after Carmine reaches back with his free arm and nails him with an elbow to the face. Tony then takes off into the ropes. When he comes back, Cannon hoists him in the air and connects with Cardiac Arrest on the way down. Cannon then follows up with a hammerlock legsweep DDT. He makes the cover.

Kris Cruise: And Cannon again gets the advantage and follows up with a nearfall.
Stephy Auger: It seems like Cannon’s got a response for everything Tony’s thrown at him. Tony’s established himself here as a viable threat to anyone near the top of the card right. But right now, Cannon’s more or less having his way with him. That’s got to hurt Tony’s pride.
Cannon picks up Tony and moves him into the ropes. From there, Cannon proceeds to tie up Carmine’s arms in the top & middle ropes. Tony can be seen tries to break free, but it’s to no avail.
Stephy Auger: I won’t shed any tears over Tony Carmine. But this isn’t good for him. Not at all.
Kris Cruise: Cannon’s got him essentially at his mercy.
Cannon sizes up Tony before unleashing a series of hard European Uppercuts. While Tony is dazed, Cannon takes off into the opposite set of ropes. When he comes back, he nails Tony so hard with a running big boot to the fact that Tony is knocked out of the ropes and to the floor.
Kris Cruise: What a hard big boot that was.
Stephy Auger: Tony caught all of that one!
Cannon rolls to the outside, picks up Tony and rolls him back into the ring. After Cannon rolls himself back in, he makes the cover.

Carmine gets his shoulder up.
After a scoop slam, Cannon heads into the corner and hoists himself up onto the middle ropes. He waits impatiently for Tony as he can be seen waving up his opponent. Once Tony gets up and turns around, Cannon goes for a diving European Uppercut. But Carmine connects with a spinning heel kick, knocking him down. He makes the cover.

Kris Cruise: Nice counter there by Tony Carmine.
Stephy Auger: This is Tony’s time to get back into this match. Thus far, it’s been all Cannon. He’s got to capitalize right now.
Carmine picks up Cannon and whips him into the ropes. When Cannon comes back, Carmine bends over to set up a back body drop. But Cannon counters with a kick to the face, sending Tony stumbling back. While Tony's dazed, Cannon takes off into the ropes. When he comes back, Carmine doubles him over with a spinning back kick to the gut. He then follows up with a snap suplex before rolling over and making the cover.

Carmine picks up Cannon and goes for an irish whip. But Cannon reverses, sending Carmine into the ropes. When Carmine comes back, Cannon goes for a back body drop. But Carmine slips down from behind. He quickly grabs Cannon from behind to set up a German Suplex. But Cannon delivers a quick elbow to the face. After performing a standing switch, he grabs Carmine around the waist for a running waist lock backward roll into a German Suplex. But Tony is somehow able to land on his feet, getting some “oooos” and “aaaaaahs” from the crowd. He then turns and runs into the ropes. When Cannon gets back to his feet, Carmine hops up onto his shoulders and flips back for a hurricanrana. But Cannon blocks the move. After lifting Carmine back up onto his shoulders, Cannon runs forward and goes for a powerbomb to the outside. But Carmine grabs the top rope as he flips back, delivering a hurricanrana over the top rope and into the floor. But instead of falling to the outside with Cannon, Carmine hangs onto the to ropes.
Kris Cruise: What a move that was right there by Tony Carmine!
Stephy Auger: That’s one way to block a powerbomb to the outside. He’s lucky he hit the hurricanrana on his second attempt.
Carmine “skins the cat,” pulling himself over the top rope and back into the ring. Cannon can be seen on the outside trying to shake out the cobwebs as Goodrich repeatedly slaps the canvas. Once he turns over and gets back to a vertical base, Carmine has already taken off into the ropes. When Carmine comes back, he knocks down Cannon with a rolling suicide dive.
Kris Cruise: Tony takes out Cannon with a Tope con Hilo!
Carmine picks up Cannon and slams him face-first into the top of the guard rail before knocking him down with a clothesline. After a series of stomps to the chest, Carmine picks up Cannon and rolls him back into the ring. Carmine then reaches back and hangs Cannon’s upper body across the apron. He then climbs back up onto the apron, runs and delivers a jumping leg drop across Cannon. After Cannon rolls himself back into the ring, Carmine gets up on the apron and makes his way towards one of the ring posts. He then scales the turnbuckles while he keeps his eyes on Cannon. Once Cannon gets back to his feet and turns around, Carmine leaps off and knocks him down with a missile dropkick. He turns Cannon over and makes the cover.

Cannon gets his shoulder up.
Kris Cruise: Tony connects with the dropkick off the top. But it only gets two. Recently, Carmine has had some strong words for Mia Scott.
Stephy Auger: Yes he has. Tony still feels that Dom Harter screwed him out of his rightful rematch. So while Harter’s out serving his suspension, Tony has decided to reinsert himself into the Pride Title picture. He claims that Mia cannot call herself a true Pride Champion until she beats “the only Pride Champion that’s mattered in the history of this company.” Hmm, I didn’t now Riley Owens was back.
Kris Cruise: Ha Ha. If only, right? Of course, Tony was referring to himself.
Stephy Auger: I know. Tony’s got an inflated ego and a high opinion of himself. But he’s underestimating the ability of Mia Scott.
Kris Cruise: Agreed.
Carmine picks up Cannon and positions him for a piledriver. But Cannon counters with a back body drop. Once Carmine turns over and gets back to his feet, Cannon throws out a reverse roundhouse kick. But Carmine ducks and counters with a reverse discus elbow, sending him stumbling back into the corner. While Cannon is rocked, Carmine runs into the corner and connects with a clothesline. He then climbs up onto the middle ropes and punches him nine times. He goes for the tenth punch, but he pulls back at the last second. Instead of delivering the punch, Carmine ops to swivel his hips. While Carmine’s in the middle of his taunt, Cannon grabs him, runs from out of the corner and delivers an inverted atomic drop. He then lifts up Carmine and delivers a shinbreaker. Cannon then grabs Tony’s legs before throwing him down with a dragon screw leg whip. After placing Carmine’s legs between his, Cannon wraps his arm around the leg, drops to the mat and pulls back, locking in the kneebar. The ref asks Carmine if he wants to give up. But he’s too busy groaning in pain.
Kris Cruise: Tony’ arrogance has cost him yet again as Cannon locks him in a kneebar!
Stephy Auger: How many times has Tony done that stupid taunt, only to have it backfire on him? You’d think he’d know better by now!
As Cannon can be seen repeatedly pulling back on the leg, the ref asks Carmine if he wants to give up. But Carmine refuses to quit after repeatedly shaking his head.
Kris Cruise: To his credit, Tony isn’t giving up. But how much longer can be hold on for?
Stephy Auger: Cannon’s got him right where he wants him. And Goodrich agrees!
Goodrich can be seen applauding on the outside as Cannon really cinches in the hold. Carmine then takes his free leg, lifts it up and repeatedly strikes Cannon with his heel until the hold is broken.
Kris Cruise: The hold is broken. That was some smart thinking there by Carmine.
Both men scramble to get back to a vertical base. But Cannon beats him to the punch. While Carmine’s still on his knees, Cannon delivers a series of shoot kicks to the chest. The thud from each kick reverberates throughout the crowd. After the last kick to the chest, Cannon steps back, sizes up Carmine and throws out a reverse roundhouse kick. But Carmine rolls underneath the kick. When Cannon turns around, Carmine gets back to his feet and brings him down with a tilt-a-whirl headscissors takeover. Cannon gets back up, but Carmine knocks him down with a low-angle dropkick. Cannon gets back up, but Carmine knocks him down with a back elbow. As Cannon gets back up, Carmine sizes him up before throwing out a dropkick. But Cannon side steps and swats Tony down.
Cannon picks up Carmine and whips him into the corner. He then runs across the ring and connects with a high knee strike. He then brings Carmine from out of the corner before planting him with the Cannon Driver II.
Kris Cruise: Carmine just got spiked right on his head.
Stephy Auger: That could be it… or not. Why isn’t Cannon going for the cover?
Cannon steps back and crouches down. He waits patiently to pounce on Carmine. As Carmine gets back to his feet, Cannon slowly rises with him. When Carmine turns around, Cannon throws out a Roundhouse Kick. But Carmine ducks. He quickly grabs Cannon from the side and delivers a pendulum backbreaker.
Kris Cruise: Tony ducked that just in the nick of time!
Stephy Auger: If he didn’t, Carmine’s head would probably be about ten rows back in the crowd.
After dragging Cannon into position, Tony heads into the corner and scales the turnbuckles. Once he reaches the top, Tony flips off and connects with a Phoenix Splash. He makes the cover.

TH-NO!
Cannon gets his shoulder up.
Kris Cruise: Cannon’s got his shoulder up. But that Phoenix Splash took a lot out of him.
Stephy Auger: It certainly did.
Tony picks up Cannon and nails him with rapid forearm strikes to the face. He then steps back and delivers a kick to the back of the leg, dropping him to one knee. Tony sees this, so he immediately runs into the ropes. When Tony comes back, he motions for #PimpShit. But Cannon quickly rolls to the outside.
Kris Cruise: Cannon wisely rolls out of the way… but what is this?
Stephy Auger: Is Cannon… is Cannon taking off?
On the outside, Cannon converses with Goodrich. The two look back at Tony, then back at each other and nod before making their wya around ringisde and up the ramp. The crowd boos as Tony stands in the ring with his hands on his hips, disgusted at what he’s seeing right now.
Kris Cruise: This may be one of those rare times when Tony Carmine is in a match and he’s not the one being booed!
Stephy Auger: This crowd is really letting Cannon have it and I can’t say I blame them. All of that talk about superiority and now, Cannon’s taking off!
Kris Cruise: He’s not even looking back, Stephy! The ref is already at Five!
Stephy Auger:
SIX!
SEVEN!
EIGHT!
NINE!
TEN!
The bell sounds as the crowd has now erupted into boos. Carmine gets his arm raised, but Tony quickly pulls it away from the ref. He walks over towards the ropes, climbs up onto the middle ropes and cups his hands around his mouth. Tony can be seen shouting several expletives at Cannon and Goodrich. But Goodrich just pats Cannon on the back while Cannon smirks before throwing up the “V” sign. The two then turn on their heels, step through the curtain and disappear into the back.
J.A. Aldridge: Here is your winner by Count Out, TONY CARMINE!
Kris Cruise: Tony gets the count out victory. But you can tell that doesn’t sit well with him.
Stephy Auger: It doesn’t. I don’t blame Cannon for rolling to the outside. He’d be an idiot to sit there and get willingly hit with the Shining Wizard that Tony’s used to put so many people away. But to take off and get intentionally counted out? Especially after all of his bragging and boasting? Unacceptable, Kev!
