(The scene opens up in the living room of the small North Carolina apartment of Bree Nelson and Donovan Cross. The door opens up and Bree walks through the door. Donovan looks over as Bree slams her gym back down on the ground walks a few steps forward and falls face first into the couch. She puts her head sideways looking over at Donovan raising her eyebrows. He hurries off the phone.)
Donovan: Yeah, she just got here. Aight man, I’ll tell her. Catch you later bro.
(Bree raises an eyebrow to Donovan as she lays flat on the couch not moving. Donovan then begins signing to her.)
Donovan: <That was Kyle from back in Louisiana. He told me to say hello. He’s been watching the shows and he’s converted everyone in his JC classes into our fans. Nice right?>
(Bree nods her head at Donovan and smiles. She then draws a huge breath and sighs, hoping Donovan would catch the drift. Donovan cocked his head and rolled his eyes.)
Donovan: <Gee Bree, could you be less discreet? What’s wrong?>
(Bree smiles at the fact that Donovan knows her so well as she sits up on the couch. She then begins signing back to him.)
Bree: <Did you see twitter last night?>
(Donovan shakes his head.)
Bree: <I totally made a fool of myself to Nest. Now he thinks that I’m weak and I let everything get to me. That I’m timid and I can’t handle myself. He unraveled me with two words… sleep tight.>
(Bree shakes her head as she laughs, but you can tell there are hints at tears in them. Donovan pats her knee sitting on the floor.)
Donovan: <Who cares? You are timid. You do let everything get to you. But that’s who you are. It’s not a bad thing. You don’t presume to talk like you own the room all the time. I’d say that’s a good thing. You let things get to you because you’re human and you care about what happens to you, your friends, and your career.>
(Bree puts a bit more emphasis on the next part swinging her arms around.)
Bree: <He said you were my crutch. He said I use you to get by. As if, if you weren’t here I would have fallen and not gotten back up a long time ago.>
(The last one causes Donovan to throw his head back in laughter. Bree looks quizzically at him. Donovan stops seeing she’s confused.)
Donovan: <Bree, you’ve not lost since you’ve been in LDFC. Did you not realize that? You’ve beaten both tag teams in LDFC and on top of that you’ve fought singles matches and won both of them. Including one against an even bigger man than Nest in Harbinger. You’re going to be fine. Just keep doing what you do and don’t be such a worry wart.>
(Bree looks at Donovan with her eyes wide just realizing the truth that Donovan had put in front of her. She blinked a few times before smiling back at him as he raised his eyebrows nodding at her a few times.)
Bree: <Wow Donnie. You always know just what to say to cheer me up. I can do this on Wednesday! I can beat Nest! All I gotta do is do what I’ve been doing and just go out there and have fun. You’re the best!>
(Bree lunges forward tackling Donovan on the floor as he falls backwards with Bree on top of him hugging her. The camera fades and you can see a huge smile on Donovan’s face.)
