We didn’t throw them down with power. We didn’t slam them to the mat with finesse. We didn’t go out there and dominate showing we were pound for pound the best wrestlers in that ring at New Generation. But you know what me and Donovan did do? Won. I did pin Han’s shoulders to the mat for the 1-2-3. And it was glorious. Me and Donovan picked up our first every Supercard win and it just so happened to be on the first LDFC supercard ever. What a way to do things huh?
And after beating both Hans & Leisl and 420 BC now, me and Donovan are spreading our wings again in singles competition on the beginning of season 2 of Pride. I for one am excited, I can tell you that much. It’s fun going out there and knowing that I’m the only one I can depend on. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a dream come true sharing the ring with my tag partner and best friend Donovan. But my adrenaline pumps just a bit more knowing I’m all I’ve got out there. And to be going out there in my first singles match in a long while against Nest, the Apex Champion, what a challenge!
Dear Interwebs,
The supercard hangover is gone and done. No time to rest on my laurels either huh? Out of the furnace and into the fire, as they say. After such a motivating and captivating win that me and Donnie were able to get at New Generation, I am facing someone as motivating and captivating as we were that night. In fact, I’ll go on record to say that Nest’s night was better than ours even. We all three started in the beginners class. And with the same amount of training this far in LDFC, Nest went out and did something I don’t know if I could have. He beat three people in one night and became LDFC’s first Apex Champion. Heck, he became LDFC’s first champion ever.
That’s an amazing night if I do say so myself. Well I did say so and even if I didn’t it’s still true. Nest is a great champion. But Nest and I have never really talked much. He does his thing in training sessions and I do my own. We don’t talk like I do with Donnie or Terrance. No, we just stay out of each others way without so much as a passing word. I don’t know if he doesn’t like me or that’s just how he is. Maybe it’s a scare tactic. I don’t know.
What I do know that even if it’s not a scare tactic it’s working. He’s a big dude. He’s got that beard he’s always stroking. It makes you wonder what he’s thinking. I have wondered many times over the past week if he’s thinking of ways to make me regret thinking I could get into the ring with the Apex Champion. Well I can say this much, I don’t know if I deserve to be in the ring with him after his recent accolades, but I have to be. And regardless of how much that scares me, I know I’ll rise to the occasion. I have to. I’ll continue to fight with all I have cause I know the LDFC fans are counting on me. And with such a big intimidating opponent in front of me, I know I’ll have to fight my hardest, but I will and I’ll make everyone proud… again.
