Hans steps into shot, standing in front of the German flag behind him. “Ze last show…” he starts, speaking in his German accent, “…it did not follow ze plan. Not only did Liesl und I lose to ze Canadians, but ze more pathetic members of ze Lions Den roster managed to vin zeir matches.”
Hans’ sunken eyes are focused on the camera as he stares intently; his shaven head glistening somewhat under the lighting to lessen the effect. “Terrence Tillman escapes mit victory; he boasts on ze Twitter zat he is big man. I am told he quoted ridiculous American television show.” Hans scoffs. “Enjoy zis feeling, Terrence, it vill not last.”
“Soon you vill be across that ring from me – a true challenge, unlike zese lazy, unskilled Americans you have been facing. You have not had challenge since Liesl, but I vill fix zat for you soon. Until zen, Liesl and I find ourselves in tag team competition once again.”
Hans allows his mirth to surface; his narrow lips raise into a smile as he sniggers under his breath, his shoulders rising and falling as he does so. “Ze plucky young underdog…” he says, smiling, “…und her friend, Donovan. I vill not lie to you, I am looking forward to zis match, as I suspect Liesl is as well. Because Bree Nelson is example of vat is vong with sport of vestling; she is your feel good story – your people’s version of ze American Dream…” he laughs again.
“Overcoming ze odds, vorking mit your disability,” Hans says disparagingly, “in order to achieve vat people have told you zat you cannot do. So you can live better und fuller life. Vat I see, however, is girl mit her head in ze clouds. Ze dreamer who vants nothing more zan to be a professional vestler. So much so she has dragged friend to LDFC to learn mit her. To compete in tag team matches against the likes of Liesl und I…”
“Zat desire you have, Bree – it equates to greed.” Hans states, matter-of-factly, “Is no good for you. Your dream, your desire to be professional vestler vill only end mit your friend suffering. Und vy? So you can chase dream. So you can chase unrealistic ambition.”
“I vonder,” Hans starts, speaking slowly, “if Donovan vill be so supportive of his friend after Liesl und I – how do you say – have our fun? After ve have stomped his hands und dislocated his fingers, so he cannot communicate mit Bree. Vould he still be supportive zen? After ve brak her down before his eyes – zen vat vill he think, seeing his friend in zat amount of pain?”
“You are not prepared for zis, Donovan. Und zis veek, it vill not be easy – but if you vant to be professional vestler like your friend, zen zis is vat you must go through. Zis veek you vill experience ze pain und ze agony zat vill either make you or break you…”
“You two, Donovan und Bree, it vill break you. Liesl und I, ve vill break you. Do not let zese vords fall on deaf ears, or zey vill be undoing…” Hans says, coldly, as the scene comes to an end.
