"Y'know maybe I really can do this here wrasslin thing." Lil Donnie Cross says, his tone unsurprisingly upbeat. It's clear that he's still riding the high of having competed in his first ever match; a match that saw him pull off an upset victory over the monster, Harbinger.
Donnie, reaches out, steadying his webcam so that it's aimed directly at him from the torso up, proudly putting his Lions Den FC shirt on display. There is a sense of excitement in his demeanor that clearly seems to have suppressed his nerves, as he appears much more comfortable in front of the camera this time around.
"Hell, maybe it was luck that got me through that there match with Harbinger." He gives a small chuckle as he shakes his head. "I mean, those in attendance saw it. I reckon he downright rag dolled me. Tossed me around as if I weighed much of nothin' and well, compared to him? I don't weigh much of nothin' but ya know what? Despite everything he threw at me, I got right back up, and I kept on fightin'. I took a hell of a beatin' but I pushed through, cause I realized that my dream was worth fightin' for. I told ya all that I was gon give it my very best, and somehow that managed to be enough. I guess it is true what they say, the sun'll even shine on a dog's hind parts some days won't it?" He jokes with a casual shrug.
"Well that little bit of light was just what the doctor ordered. Boy I tell ya, I've done hit the Lion's Dens facilities with a vengeance and a renewed vigor since that match with Harbinger. I've got a pep in my step and I'm eager to learn and I'm realizing that maybe I can do something worthwhile around here. Not sayin' I'll even be anything great, ya kno? But at least I can be somethin'."
"For the first time ever, Lil Donnie Cross is startin' to believe in himself, and I'm just hopin I can put everything I've learned thus far to use when Bree and I step into that ring with 420 B.C.”
“I already know that we’re gon be in for a tough one. Ligaya and Serenity? They ain't quite as new to this as Bree and I are. They’ve got some time under their belt, but I reckon that’s a good thing. They’re gonna be a hell of a test for us, but ya know what? I honestly think Bree and I got a shot in this.”
“Now. we may not walk out with a victory, but I can already see that this will be a valuable learning experience for the both of us, and it will only help us in the long run as both competitors and a team. You see, Bree’s done believed in me from day one. Even when I ain't have the confidence in myself, she was right there, patting me on the back, telling me I could, all the while I thought I couldn't.”
“And now, I’m in her corner. I’m her partner, and truth be told, I just don’t want ta let her down. Cause she's never let me down, not once in all the years I done known her. It's bout time I returned that favor. And in Thomasville, win or lose? I'm fighting by her side til the very end, and I'm showin her that she was always right for believin in Lil Donnie Cross.”
He smiles and gives a final nod.
