"They say a man's only as good as the taco he creates...." Nest is leaned up against his favorite tree in the night, looking out to the stars in the rural North Carolina skies. "Actually they don't say that, I made it up. However, the point's very clear. I picked up my first win on the second episode of Pride and while it felt good...it also kinda sucked."
Nest rubs his hands together.
"I got a nice pat on the back from Alpha Dog dude. He's really been getting behind me during sessions and according to him I'm catching on pretty quick, but now there's pressure. I feel like I'm pressured to win all the time now because I'm constantly busting my ass in workouts, trying to really learn all this shit. Pressure creates diamonds, and diamonds are beautiful..." Nest grins. "As you can see I'm not. But life is."
"Life is like a diamond in how beautiful it is overall, but just as you don't see the kids in Africa dying for your fiance to say 'He went to Jared!', a lot of you don't see what lies beneath the beautiful green pastures and blue oceans. In the depths, there's more. There's the gritty. The foul. The horrendous. The forgotten. The ignored. And they all lie inside of one Nest."
Nest cracks his neck before leaning back against the tree.
"So I see a dude like Darwin, and I question his credibility. He's someone who feels he must constantly remind the world who he is. The guy talks about being intelligent and how his looks are deceiving and he talks about himself more and he keeps talking and talking and talking." Nest chuckles, placing his hands in his lap. "Darwin, the more you talk the less we all care. What's left to see in a movie, if the trailer explains the entire plot? The world should know who you are through your acts, not speeches. So when I look at you, I don't see anyone more special than anybody else. I see someone just like me."
Nest folds his arms and leans back against the tree.
"No God has ever come out of North Carolina...especially only an hour and half away from where I'm from. I've seen plenty men try to pass themselves off as a big deal until they meet their match. And I'm your match Darwin." Nest laughs. "Have I ever been to Japan? Nope. Have I ever heard of Riku Ozaki? Nope, but I'll take your word for it that he's some sort of legend who picked some random Cameron kid out of a hat to make his prodigy. In spite of this, I'm still the biggest threat you will come across here in Lion's Den so far...and that's purely by default."
He tugs on one of the branches to his left side. "Don't think if you play mind games with me that I won't play back , but I'd rather you get into the ring and show me just what kinda man you are. You're big and I'm big so these people aren't expecting chess out there. They want a fight and a fight is what they'll get." Nest smirks. "We're gonna see if you have what it takes to put those fists in front of your brain. I'm not the smartest guy in the world, but it isn't rocket science to kick someone's teeth in."
"So I'll stick to that niche." A bird flies onto the branch Nest was tampering with, causing him to turn his attention. "You're going down dude, Nest assured."
Nest rubs his hands together.
