1x NWA Television Champion
Career History:
National Wrestling Association
Nic Venum made his pro wrestling debut in the National Wrestling Association during the ‘out with the old, in with the new’ initiative and competed in a tournament to crown a new NWA World Heavyweight Champion. During Venum’s first event he and another new comer in Chase Anderson charged down to the ring with steel chairs to come to the aid of NWA president, Michael Anderson III. After Venum and Chase rescued Michael Anderson from the dominant stable known as ‘The Elite’ Venum would then lay out Chase Anderson by knocking him unconscious with one devastating steel chair shot. Venum would achieve what he set out to do and that was to make an impact.
In round 1 of the NWA World Heavyweight Championship tournament Nic Venum was one of eight unlucky men to participate in the first round of the twenty four man invitational tournament. Venum would go on to make Tyler Crewed submit with his main submission manoeuvre, the ‘Malicious Intent’ (Stretch Muffler) after the match Chase Anderson would sneak up behind Venum and even the score by hitting him across the back of the head with a steel chair resulting in a minor concussion and miss one week of action.
Venum would make his return in a twenty man battle royal for the NWA North American Championship being a surprise entrant and eliminating six opponents including Chase Anderson and former NWA World Heavyweight Champion, Ryan “2012” Omega. Venum would go on to win the Battle Royal and become the new NWA North American Champion. Three week later at NWA’s pay-per-view ‘Heatwave’ Nic Venum and Chase Anderson would end their feud when they finally met each other in the semi-final round of the Tournament. Venum would reluctantly defend his NWA North American Championship in a Falls Count Anywhere match due to a ‘punishment’ from the NWA president, Michael Anderson III for cheap shotting him with the KTFO (Spinning Backfist) one week earlier. Venum would lose the NWA North American Championship after Chase hit Venum with an Avalanche Powerbomb through the table and eliminate him from the tournament.
Later in the mainevent the leader of ‘the Elite’ Sweet T would go one on one with Ryan “2012” Omega in a Steel Cage match. After Omega hit Sweet T with ‘The Thirteenth B'ak'tun’ he would start to exit the steel cage through the door until Nic Venum jumped the barricade slam the steel cage door shut in Omega’s face busting him open. Sweet T would capitalise with a School Boy pin and defeat his long-time rival. Nic Venum and Sweet T would then form an unofficial alliance when he joined Sweet T in the ring while his hand was raised in victory.
Venum would attack Omega one week later at Saturday Night Mayhem resulting in an impromptu brawl through the backstage area. Venum would then be arrested and suspended until NWA’s ‘Goldrush’ pay-per-view where he and Omega would go one on one in a number one contender’s match to be the first opponent to face the new NWA World Heavyweight champion. At ‘Goldrush’ Venum would be escorted down the ring by security due to request from NWA president, Michael Anderson III. Venum and Omega would put each other through thirty minutes of hell until Venum hit Omega with the devasting ‘Dose of Venum’ getting the win and becoming the number one contender to new NWA World Heavyweight Champion whom would end up becoming Scott Adams.
One week later at Saturday Night Mayhem Nic Venum would call out the new NWA World Heavyweight Champion, Scott Adams and after a verbal war Venum would knock Adams out with the KTFO and leave with the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. Adams long-time friend Jacob Demore would go one on one with Venum later that night, Demore would pick up the win but Venum would regain the stolen NWA World Heavyweight Championship before Demore could get his hands on it. Venum would leave through the crowd. Venum would have the championship in his possession until one week before NWA’s ‘Onslaught’ pay-per-view where his one on one NWA World Heavyweight Championship match turned into a Four Corner Survival with Jacob Demore and Ryan “2012” Omega being added to the match. Ryan Omega would become a three time NWA World Heavyweight Champion by last eliminating Scott Adams with ‘The Thirteenth B'ak'tun’. Nic Venum would soon be released from the NWA due to his contract expiring and NWA management not wanting to renew his contract.
