ENTRANCE & ATTIRE
Entrance Music:
"Midlife Crisis" by Faith No More
Ring Attire:
Solo: Long jeans, flare or boot cut, in a bright colour with a multicoloured design (usually flowers) embroidered or stenciled across the back and down the legs. Sleeveless T-shirt, usually from an indie band. Barefoot with colourful, patterned polish on her fingernails and toenails. No makeup usually. She might have armbands or wrist tape on if she feels like it.
When teaming with Annie Zellor: Long tights, strappy crop top, choker, palm-to-elbow armbands - all in extra-sparkly holographic fabric, in a lime green base with a multicoloured cloud print. Wrestles barefoot, with neon polish on her fingernails and toenails. Expansive, colourful makeup with lots of airbrushing and sequins and a dusting of glitter coating her entire face.
Ring Entrance:
The opening beat of Faith No More’s ”Midlife Crisis” comes across the speakers, prompting a mixed reaction. After a few bars, shortly before the lyrics kick in, Laurel Anne Hardy emerges, slowing a little to look around the auditorium but keeping on walking and heading straight down to the ring. She absently tags hands stretched out to her as she passes by, but her pace doesn’t change. She leaps under the bottom rope, making no attempt to time her movements to the music, and runs the ropes a couple of times before retreating to her corner and sitting down on the canvas.
CHARACTER BACKGROUND
Pic Base:
Lovefoxxx
Gimmick:
Deathseeker. Following a crippling identity crisis prompted by events in various promotions, Laurel has determined that the next step in her artistic evolution is the total deconstruction of her own psyche. She has stopped suppressing her psychopathy and has grown more intractable and unpredictable than ever, and in the course of her self-analysis is on a quest to find the person good enough - or the situation dangerous enough - to present a real threat to her. She can be demonically possessive of the people she loves (including Annie Zellor, Evangelista, Chaz Holiday and Mia Scott) and is quite ready to commit atrocities in the name of their safety.
Strengths:
1. Agility: Laurel is almost inhumanly flexible and acrobatic, capable of mind-bending feats of agility. Thanks to her broad frame, she is also surprisingly strong for her size and can lift cruiser men without too much trouble.
2. Creativity: Laurel's mind is always working and she's excellent at coming up with new things off the top of her head. This means she's great with counters, especially the big moves that turn the momentum of a match back in her favour. It also serves her very, very well in a hardcore environment, and she has a reputation for being able to employ weapons in unorthodox ways.
3. Never backs down: Laurel has never encountered a challenge too intimidating for her to admit defeat. In a battle of nerve or will she's virtually impenetrable. If she has an upper limit on her pain threshold, it's never been reached yet. Getting busted open doesn't faze her for even a second.
Weaknesses:
1. Stamina: Laurel wrestles an aggressive, fast-paced style but doesn't really have the conditioning for it. She's got a chronic bronchial problem, and is a smoker. Her lungs give out quicker than most people's. She'll try to push herself through it but will be slowed.
2. Matriarchal mindset: Laurel considers FGA her property and is overprotective of both the company and her friends within it to the point of rage. There is a long history of people using her loved ones to get to her.
3. Never backs down: Laurel's determination isn't really "heart"; she literally, pathologically lacks a functioning fear response. The flip side of never backing down is that she rushes headlong into bad situations, and rarely admits when she's in the wrong. She is more than ready to engage an enemy in an arms race of barbarism and depravity. In fact she's quite often the one initiating it.
