Dynamic Duos Tournamnet (First Round)
Super Funtime Adventure League vs. Chaz Holiday & Hadley
After the opening of Gimme Shelter plays, smoke rises from the stage. Persephone bounds out into view, looking incredibly enthusiastic. Catalina follows, not paying them any heed as she stops at the top of the ramp.
Cruz: The following contest is scheduled for one fall and it is a first round match in the Dynamic Duos Tournament! Introducing first, weighing in at a combined weight of 262 pounds! They are the team of Persephone Waters and Catalina South... THE SUPER FUNTIME ADVENTURE LEAGUE: AP WATERS JOINT!
Catalina flips her hood back and starts making a beeline, while Persephone slaps hands with fans, and tries to hawk gawdy merchandise. As Persephone circles around the ringside area, they each slide under a rope on opposite sides of the ring and pop up, before taking their corner.
Clement: Persephone Waters is looking to recapture the magic she had with Brian Sasso. The two them had a record setting reign as SCW Tag Team Champions.
Grayson: But Catalina South isn't Sasso. She can't just pluck any partner out of thin air and replace him. She can't replicate that level of success with just anyone. But if anyone knows anything about tag team wrestling in this tournament, it is Persephone. Her experience may just lead her and Cat to advance in this tournament.
(The lights in the arena dim a bit and all turn blue as "New Medicines" by Dead Poetic begins to play. The screen starts to show running water over the screen with different two colored pills running through the water as it pours down the screen. The name "Hadley" appears on the screen as the song lyrics begin being sung.)These are the words that tear you apart.
And these are the words that take you away.
And these are just words they'll tear you apart.
When no one here will say what needs to say.
(Hadley walks out from behind the curtain. She walks down the ramp as the blue lights continue to pour down on the arena. She makes it to the ring and slides under the bottom rope. She walks over to one corner and climbs the turnbuckle. She lifts her right arm into the air and taps it's elbow several times with her left hands pointer and middle finger signifying a nurse looking for a vein.)Cruz: And their opponents! Introducing first, from Corpus Christi, Texas! Weighing in at 135 pounds... HADLEY
New medicines should ease this pain.
They're the only ailment for it.
(Hadly hops off the turnbuckle and walks over to the other side climbing it again. She again raises her right arm and taps her elbow with her left arm. The music starts to fade and she jumps off the turnbuckle waiting for the match to start.)Clement: Here is the young Hadley, who is acting as a replacement for Babs Ryan.
Grayson: Speaking of replacing a partner with just anyone, I'm not exactly sure what Chaz Holiday is thinking here. I know that unfortunate circumstances took place and Ryan is no longer able to compete in this tournament. So you decided to replace her with someone off the streets that you just bumped into backstage? I don't understand his logic.
Clement: It may not make much sense. But if the two of them are able to gel and advance in this tournament, then who are we to judge?
Grayson: The experts!
"Blackout" by Breathe Carolina begins to play and Chaz Holiday emerges from behind the black curtains. He stops at the top of the entrance, smiling and looking around at the crowd.
Cruz: And her partner, now residing out of Los Angeles, California! Weighing in at 221 pounds! He is the Mid-Atlantic Legacy Champion... CHAZ HOLIDAY!
As he makes his way to the ring, he high fives fans along the way. As he gets to the ring, he jumps up on the apron and steps between the ropes, getting into the ring.
Clement: Chaz has been the first and only wrestler to hold that Mid-Atlantic Legacy Championship. He's held that belt with pride and has been an example to all. He's never ducked or dodged a challenger since winning that belt. And because he's a fighting champion, he's this close to making history.
Grayson: Chaz has been a good champion, I'll give him that. But he can't ride this wave forever. He's a singles champion, yet he's in a tag tournament. He can only keep up his level of commitment for so long.
The bell sounds as South and Holiday shake hands before circling the ring. They then motion to lock up. But South ducks the collar & elbow tie-up and applies a waistlock from behind. After fidgeting around, Holiday delivers an elbow to the face. He then performs a standing switch, applying a waistlock of his own from behind. He then transitions into a hammerlock. The ref asks South if she wants to quit. But South shakes her head, refusing to give up. She then leans forward and reverses into a hammerlock of her own. She then transitions over into a front facelock. She tries to choke out Holiday. But Holiday quickly moves her into the ropes. After reaching out and grabbing the ropes, the ref gives South until the count of five to break the hold.
Ref: ONE... TWO... THREE... FOUR...
South makes the clean break as she slowly lets go. Once Holiday steps back, South heads over and goes to lock up. But again, she ducks the collar & elbow tie up, goes behind Holiday and trips him down to the canvas. She quickly goes for an ankle lock, but Holiday squirms away. After he pulls himself up using the ropes, he begins to circle the ring. He inches over to South and locks up with her. After jockeying for position, Holiday gains the advantage by taking her arm and delivers an arm wringer. South can be seen cringing in pain. After trying to yank the arm from out of its socket, Holiday delivers another arm wringer... and another. While South is doubled over in pain, the ref asks her if she wants to give up. But South responds by wagging her finger at the ref. She then rolls forward, leans back, kips up, swats Holiday's hands from off her and knocks him down with a dropkick. Holiday gets back up, but South knocks him back down with another dropkick to cheers from the crowd. As Holiday gets up, South grabs him and delivers an arm wringer. After a kick to the midsection, she steps over his outstretched arm and takes him down with a rolling cross armbar. Holiday can be heard groaning in pain as the crowd cheers.
Clement: Catalina was feverishly looking for a submission during the early goings of this contest. And now she's finally got the armbar applied.
The ref asks Holiday if he wants to give up. But Holiday refuses to quit. Meanwhile, South tries to snap his arm into two.
Clement: Cat is doing her best to try and hyperextend Chaz's arm.
Grayson: He better try to get to those ropes quick unless he wants his arm in a sling.
Holiday reaches out with his free arm, but he's not in position. So he reaches out with his right foot... and just barely gets his foot under the bottom rope. The ref then gives South until the count of five to break the hold.
Ref: ONE... TWO... THREE... FOUR...
South lets go. After Holiday gets up to his feet, he shakes his arm as he heads into the corner and tags in Hadley. South then steps back before tagging Waters in.
Once the two fresh partners get in, they shake hands before circling the ring. Then then lock up. After jockeying for position, Hadley places Waters in a side headlock. But Waters quickly shoves Hadley off of her and into the ropes. When Hadley comes back, Waters knocks her down with a standing shoulderblock. Waters quickly goes for a flipping leg drop, but Hadley rolls out of the way. As both grapplers get back to a vertical base, Hadley kicks Waters in the midsection. She then sends Waters into the ropes. When Waters comes back, Hadley goes for a back body drop. But somehow, Waters lands on her feet. She then runs back into the ropes. When Hadley turns around, Waters knocks her down with a corkscrew flying forearm smash.
Clement: What an unorthodox maneuver that was! She makes the cover...

Once she lands on both feet, she takes Hadley down with a headscissors takeover to cheers from the crowd. As Hadley gets up, Waters runs into the ropes. When she comes back, she goes for a clothesline. But Hadley ducks, grabs Waters by the waist, runs into the ropes, bounces back and delivers a rolling release german suplex to cheers from the crowd.
Clement: What a counter that was by Hadley! I didn't expect that!
Grayson: Waters landed right on the lower portion of her neck. That may just do it, Kev...

Clement: We all knew that the Super Funtime Adventure League would be on the same page. But I'm liking what I'm seeing out of Chaz and Hadley.
Grayson: They're working well for now. But what's going to happen when the going gets tough and they have to dig deep? That's going to be the deciding factor in this match to me.
South picks up Holiday and whips him into the corner. She then runs into the corner and connects with a high knee. Waters then follows up with a running corner dropkick to cheers from the crowd. After Holiday crumbles from out of the corner, Waters makes the cover.

South quickly grabs a hold of the arm that Holiday just raised. After sitting him up, South applies a Buffalo Sleeper to cheers from the crowd.
Clement: Cat now with another submission applied. Her and Persephone have worked over Chaz. They've cut off the ring. Now she's trying to put this one away.
Grayson: Can Chaz bounce back? Does he have enough left in him to power out of this move?
The ref asks Holiday if he wants to give up. But Holiday refuses to quit. So South decides to lean on Holiday, applying more pressure to the hold.
Clement: Cat's now really trying to cut off the air for Chaz.
Grayson: He looks like he's fading...
The ref asks Holiday if he wants to give up. But again, Holiday refuses to quit. After turning over onto his knees, he slowly begins to get back to a vertical base. He then leans forward, lifting South up onto his back. Holiday then runs backwards into a corner, breaking the hold. As Holiday heads from out of the corner, South runs out of the corner, hops on his back and applies a sleeper hold to cheers from the crowd. She tries to squeeze with all her might as Holiday frantically reaches out to grab a rope. But he's in the middle of the ring.
Grayson: Chaz's got nowhere to go. There isn't a rope within arm's reach of him.
Holiday reaches out, but there isn't a rope near him. So he reaches up, grabs South by the hair and delivers a kneeling jawbreaker that breaks the hold. The crowd cheers as both grapplers go down.
Clement: A desperation move there by Chaz. But it pays off. Which one of these two grapplers can make it to their corner?
Holiday gets up on all fours and begins crawling towards his corner. But Waters runs over and connects with a flipping leg drop, knocking him down. After South sits down across his back and applies a camel clutch, Waters heads into the ropes. When she comes back, she connects with a low angle dropkick to the face. After Waters heads back out onto the apron, South turns Holiday over and makes the cover.

Clement: Hadley and Chaz Holiday pick up the vi... what on earth is going on here?
[The lights in the arena start to flicker as the beginning of "This Is The New Shit" by Marilyn Manson begins to play throughout the arena. A man walks out from the back wearing a black suit and a black shirt with a white tie. He has a thick beard and thick glasses. Obviously, this is Johnny Windham.]
## Everything has been said before ##
## There's nothing left to say anymore ##
## When it's all the same ##
## You can ask for it by name ##
[Next, wearing a tight black leather mini-skirt, a skin tight white shirt that says "Your Dream Come True" on the front in black lettering, and black go-go boots, Heather Black walks out from behind the curtain. Her shoulder length dark red hair is tied back and her outfit definitely shows off her figure.]

[Finally, out from behind the curtain, is the man everyone came to see, Joshua Black. Joshua is wearing his usual black tights that stop mid-thigh, with yellow trim at the waist and mid-thigh, and a black t-shirt with words "Flawless Victory" written on the front in yellow lettering. He stands at the entranceway between Johnny and Heather, looks around the crowd smiling, and starts heading to the ring.]

Johnny exits the ring and walks down the steps to the floor, then holds Heather's hand as she does the same as the music dies down and Joshua takes off his shirt and tosses it to Johnny. Heather hands Joshua a microphone as he heads to the center of the ring.]
Joshua Black: Chaz! I know you just finished your match, but I honestly couldn’t care less at this point! Let’s put it all on the table here. Chaz Holiday is a COWARD! At Only the Strong Survive, due to a LAPSE IN JUDGEMENT by my manager, you were able to pin me and retain the Mid-Atlantic Legacy Championship! BUT, what has he done since then?? I’ll tell you people what he’s done.. NOTHING!! Where are the title defenses, Chaz? Where’s MY REMATCH even?? They don’t exist to you… they DON’T MATTER TO YOU! All you seem to care about is this Dynamic Duos tag tournament that’s going on. ALL you care about is your god damn Sparklebuddies! Well, that’s not a real champion, Chaz. What you’re CLEARLY doing is DUCKING ME and a rematch with me BECAUSE YOU KNOW I WILL BEAT YOU! Hell, you’re so scared to lose your title that you’re not even fighting in singles matches anymore!! Title shots or not, you’re just going to hold that belt hostage while you focus on your tag team bullshit! Well, I’m NOT going to let that happen ANY LONGER! So, Chaz, what I’m telling you is that if you’re a REAL MAN, a REAL CHAMPION, and not just some fashion designer using MY CHAMPIONSHIP BELT as a fashion accessory, then you’ll give me my rematch RIGHT FUCKING NOW!!!
(Chaz is handed a mic)
Chaz Holiday: …Really, Josh? This is how you go about getting another shot? Saying that I’m ducking you? That couldn’t be further from the truth. I don’t duck anybody. But the way you’re acting right now? I’m not too sure you deserve the chance. I mean… I did already beat you.
Joshua Black: Figures. It FUCKING FIGURES. You know WHY you won’t give me a rematch, Chaz?? It’s because you know… YOU KNOW that I’m BETTER THAN YOU!! You got LUCKY that night, because a MISTAKE was made by someone and I was distracted. You took advantage of that… I applaud you for being smart enough to do so. But, you KNOW I can beat you… and you know I would’ve that night. You KNOW I will tonight if you’re brave enough to get back into this ring! So, do it. You say you’re a “fighting champion” right? But you’ve only defended that belt ONCE! Do it again, Chaz. DO IT AGAIN, CHAZ! You think you’re better than me?? You think you can beat me again?? PROVE IT, GOD DAMNIT!!
Chaz Holiday: Alright… You know what? You want this match so bad? Fine. You’ve got your rematch. Right now!
(Hadley wants to know if he needs her help. But he tells her that he's got this.)
Clement: I don't know if I like this, Evan.
Grayson: You shouldn't. If Chaz is dumb enough to put his title on the line after the match he just had, then he deserves whatever he gets.
The bell sounds as Windham tries to attack Holiday from behind. When Holiday turns around, Windham scurries to the outside. Black then runs over and knocks down Holiday with a clothesline. The crowd boos as Black puts the boots to him. He then reaches down, picks up Holiday and slams his head into the top turnbuckle. After turning Holiday around, Black unleashes a series of shoulder thrusts to the midsection. He then takes Holiday and whips him into the opposite corner. Black runs across the ring, but he runs right into a boot to the face from Holiday to cheers from the crowd. As Black stumbles back, Holiday runs from out of the corner. But Black throws him down with a spinebuster to cheers from the crowd. He makes the cover.

Grayson: If I were Holiday, I'd roll out of the ring, take the count out loss and live to fight another day.
Clement: Chaz isn't built like that. He's got more integrity than that. If Chaz retains his title tonight, it's because he beat Black. Not because he got himself intentionally counted out.
Grayson: Oh well. At the end of the day, it's his title, not mine. If he screws this up, he's got no one to blame but himself.
Black picks up Holiday and brings him into the corner. He then takes Holiday and whips him hard into the opposite corner. After Holiday stumbles from out of the corner, Black throws him down with a t-bone suplex to boos from the crowd. He makes the cover.

Clement: ... and down goes Black! The high risk pays off as Holiday connects with the moonsault!

As the ref yells at Heather to get off the apron, Holiday gets off of Joshua and makes his way over towards her as well. Meanwhile, Hadley runs over and tries to pull Heather from off the apron. Heather then grabs the ropes and hangs on for dear life. Sneaking around ringside is Johnny Windham, who grabs the Mid-Atlantic Legacy Championship belt and rolls into the ring.
Clement: What is this?
Grayson: It looks like Johnny just wants to take a closer look at the belt.
Clement: I don't think he wants to look at that belt. CHAZ, LOOK OUT!
When Holiday turns around, Windham goes to hit him with the belt. But Holiday grabs the belt and yanks it out of his hands to cheers from the crowd. After tossing down the belt, he motions to punch Windham. But Windham quickly falls down to a seated position. Holiday goes to grab Windham, but Windham quickly rolls out of the ring. When Holiday turns around, Joshua clocks him with the belt to boos from the crowd.
Clement: NO!
Grayson: Black went to toss him the belt... but he accidentally hit him right in the face.

Clement: This was highway robbery! That man not only stole a victory, but he just stole Chaz's title as well!
Grayson: Who was the one dumb enough to put his title on the line against a man he already beat? Who was the one dumb enough to put his belt on the line in an unscheduled match? Who was the one dumb enough to put his belt on the line immediately after a match? I have no sympathy for Chaz Holiday. He did this to himself!
The crowd continues to boo as the trio heads up the ramp. Joshua turns, faces the ring, and holds up his newly won championship. Holiday can be seen coming to. The ref tries to tell him what just happened. But Holiday is still slightly out of it...
