STATS
Wrestler's Name:
Mason Lee Deadwood
Wrestler's Nickname:
“MLB”
“Coors Light Cowboy”
“Confederate Cowboy”
“The Bean Station Bastard”
Height:
6'7"
Weight:
268 lbs
Alignment:
Mason is a heel. However his heel tendencies are based on the country lifestyle he lives and the lack of respect he has for what he calls “City Folk”. Due to this, you would think when FGA is in a area known for country people, especially in the heart of the old south, he would be semi popular. Similar to heels being cheered in their hometown. Nothing near the frenzy of CM Punk/Chicago or so on and so fourth but you get the idea. Feel free to write him accordingly.
Hometown:
Bean Station, TN
Pro Debut:
FGA will be Mason’s pro debut.
MOVESET
Grappling Style:
Brawler/Smash Mouth, Dirty
Finishing Moves:
Stars & Bars (Steiner Screwdriver)
Deadwood Death Sentence - DDS (EL Generico’s Brainbustaaahhh) (Mason’s statement, feud ender, big time ppv/match, or that big time moment finisher. Can be done on the outside to the apron, or anywhere there is a ledge. Not used often.
Trademark Moves:
Sleep On It (Turnbuckle Shinning Wizard/High Knee (CM Punk Style) immediately followed by Mason running back to the ropes and coming back while opponent is still in the corner and connecting with a high boot in the corner. This is the setup for either finisher.)
Single Barrel (Apron Eat Defeat; something happens where the opponent ends up leaning on the middle rope with upper half out of the ring. Mason then gives a modified version of Eat-Defeat on the apron.)
Roman Reign’s Apron Drop Kick
Saturday Night Special (Mason lifts opponent up like a normal belly to back suplex, however he holds them up for a moment before turning his back towards the corner. When he drops he does so in a spot so that the back of the opponents head hit’s the top turnbuckle, if not all three on the way down.)
Cesaro’s 2nd Rope Outside-In Suplex
Common Moves:
Orton’s Rope DDT
Miz’s Snap DDT
Double A Style Spinebuster
Release German Suplex
Slingshot Suplex
Clothesline From Hell/Lariat (Sometimes done discus style)
Hanging Jaw Breaker/Stunner (Opponents feet are hanging on the ropes, like Orton’s Rope DDT)
Fallaway Slam
Double Footstomp (Can be done off the top rope, from the inside over the ropes to the apron, from the apron to the floor. Anywhere where there is a chance to jump up or down to the opponent. Usually aims for the head area)
Diving Elbow/Shoulder (Similar to what Bray Wyatt is doing now, where he just launches his body at them.)
Double underhook trapped Head Butts (Usually to the count of 10, however, this move typically does the same amount of damage to Mason as it does to who ever he does it do.)
Spear followed by mounted punches.
Piledriver
HHH Style Facebuster
Vader Style Mauling in the corner
Foley Style Corner Running Hip Attack
Powerbomb into the corner
ENTRANCE & ATTIRE
Entrance Music:
“Don’t Tread On Me” by Metallica
Ring Attire:
Mason will usually wear a trench coach, with various designs on it. Sometimes Confederate Flag, some times other things. Along with the jacket, he will wear sunglasses and a cowboy hat.
As for ring attire, he wears regular ring tights and knee pads. Sometimes he will wear half sleeves on the bottom half of his arms, sometimes he will wear regular arm pads.
His boots are a atv/moto style riding boot.
Mason has several color and design combinations for his ring attire. Everything will be color coordinated.
Ring Entrance:
“Don’t Treat On Me” from Metallica begins to play through out the arena responded with a chorus of boos. They die down however as the lights dim and Metallica’s song continued to play. Spot lights flash in rhythm with the music, picking up speed as the tempo quickens. Sudden, from behind the curtain emerges a Confederate Flag attached to MLB himself. Jeers and dislike from the crowd pick up once again. Mason stands amid the stage waving the flag for everyone’s displeasure.
Mason stops waving the flag only to raise it high upon his head while he begins his walk to the ring. While Mason makes his way to the ring the fans let him know the distain for his southern ways. Most insults, jeers, and boos bounce right off his cocky smile. He only stops to recognize only a few. Mason argues with a few fans, and waves the flag in the face of others, which only makes the crowd collectively dislike him more.
Mason makes his way to the corner of the ring and walks half way up the steps, with his back turned to the fans in attendance. He raises the flag over his head one last time with one hand, and let’s them know how he feels via a middle finger with the other. After leaving the flag pole leaned against the ring steps Mason enters the ring, quickly bouncing off the ropes a couple times before removing his jacket and cowboy hat. The lights return to normal and the music softens but the crowd do not. They continue to jeer and hiss while Mason prepares for his match.
CHARACTER BACKGROUND
Pic Base:
James Storm
Manager/Valet:
Not at the moment but may introduce one later.
Gimmick:
Mason is a rebellious spirit. However, not in the new school against the “man” sense. He’s the last of a dying breed, the last of the “Southern Outlaws”. He’s southern born and raised. He believes in the bars and the stars. He’s old school to a sense. He honestly feels that southern people are better. He’s not much for big cities and bright lights. He believes that a good country raisin’ is all a man needs. He’s tired of the politically correct, he’s tired of the idea is today’s society. He was raised by parents who lived in a time when children were taught to mind, when people worked hard for what the had. For this reason a lot of people who aren’t “southern minded” like himself do not like him at all. Those are the specific ones, who he believes, need to be taught a little about life and a little about respect.
NOTE: I wasn’t sure where to put this, but I’d like to have little Confederate flags on top of all 4 ring posts, like what they do for Alberto Del Rio. Just a note to writers, if you want to have a face knock them off or throw one in Mason’s face or something like that.
Bio:
Mason Lee Deadwood was born April 28th, 1988. He grew up in a small simple southern town in eastern Tennessee. He was taught southern respect and how to be a man. When he acted out as a child he got his ass busted.
Mason grew up in a middle class home. His parents both worked regular jobs, attended a family farm, and put out the family garden every spring. This led to a lot of labor for the family, and thus teaching Mason about hard work and responsibility at a young age.
Mason’s father, Roger Lee Deadwood was a wrestling fan. Roger didn’t do anything special as a young adult. He was your typical southern boy. Played football, wasn’t a star, but started every game he played and was regularly featured in the local newspapers. He was very athletic. Roger was a huge wrestling fan, and shared his love for the business with Mason.
Father and son would regularly watch wrestling together from the time Mason was big enough to walk. Mason loved watching with his Father. Mason grew up on NWA/WCW television watching and emulating greats like Rick Flair, Sting, Lex Luger, The Road Warriors, Stan Hansen, and so on and so forth.
As Mason got older, naturally he got stronger. Like his father, he started playing football at a young age, and continued through college where he got a full scholarship to a local 2-A school. Between playing football his whole life and all the agriculture work, Mason was always very strong for his age.
After graduating college Mason was discovered at his celebration party by a local former wrestler. He easily talked Mason into beginning training to become a professional wrestler, following his childhood dream.
Now, fresh out of wrestling school, Mason looks to bring a little old school back to the wrestling world…and teach everyone a little respect while he’s at it.
