ENTRANCE & ATTIRE
Entrance Music:
"In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" by Slayer
Ring Attire:
A pair of long tights with his own custom designs of black, gold, silver, and ruby red all over them, matching kick pads and knee pads, both hands/wrists wrapped in white athletic tape (his right hand more so than the left), and a single black elbow pad on his right arm running from mid-forearm to mid-bicep. On his way to the ring, Corey sports a hooded entrance jacket with a mirrored design of his tights, and conceals his eyes behind a pair of gold-rimmed Ray Bans.
Ring Entrance:
The lights dim as the opening drum roll of Slayer's "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" cues up, the song instantly jumping to the start of the first verse as a spotlight focuses on Corey Lazarus as he emerges from behind the curtain. He adjusts his gold-rimmed Ray Bans and throws back the hood of his entrance jacket, shaking out his shaggy hair before flashing everybody his trademark devilish grin.
Cruz: Introducing at this time, hailing from New York City, New York by way of Hollywood, California...
Corey blows the nearest camera a kiss as he casually strolls down to the ring, stopping at ringside to slide his Ray Bans off...only to quickly throw them back on, chuckling as he does so.
Cruz: ...he weighs in at 235 pounds and stands at 6-foot-1..."The Premier Attraction"...
Lazarus jumps onto the apron and darts up to the middle turnbuckle, slowly sliding his entrance jacket off and letting it drop to ringside before lounging across the top ropes, and all with a condescending smirk on his face.
Cruz: ...COREY LAZARUS!!!
"In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" dies down as Corey steps down to the mat, carefully removing his Ray Bans and placing them under the bottom turnbuckle. He rises back up, stretching out over the ropes, and then turns around, backing into the corner.
CHARACTER BACKGROUND
Pic Base:
Christian Bale
Gimmick:
Glory addict. Laz is egotistical to a fault, and exhibits many classic symptoms of being a sociopath. He rarely takes things seriously, but when he does? Be wary.
Bio:
Corey grew up in luxury, the son of wealthy and acclaimed Hollywood producers, and was groomed from early on to be a success in the realm of film. In his early teens during a break from boarding school, he spent time with his uncle in Detroit, and it was there that he became enamored in professional wrestling, specifically through the matches of Cliff Young. While attending Camden College in New Hampshire, Corey began attending Cliff Young's Front Line Academy in Boston under an alias as he felt that Cliff's blue collar lifestyle would prevent him from accepting Corey as a trainee.
After excelling under Cliff's tutelage (as well as Cliff's long-time tag team partner, the late Jesse White), Corey began wrestling for the Pioneer Wrestling Association, quickly garnering a name for himself in the Hardcore division by taking risks others wouldn't dare to attempt. After a year, Corey's parents demanded that he return to Hollywood, leading to him starring in a number of acclaimed independent films, but the desire to compete led to his return to the ring in late 2002. During this time, he opened Club Xanax in New York City with on/off tag partner Malcolm West. In early 2005, however, Corey's feud with former friend Dustin "Thunderwolf" Kelser, combined with an addiction to cocaine and pain killers, got the best of him, and he was admitted first into a rehab facility and then a mental health clinic.
Following his release, Corey laid low for two years, returning to the ring in January 2008, working steadily until late 2011 when he decided to leave the ring for the benefit of his then-wife, adult starlet Emma O'Reilly, and their young son, Richard. Within months, though, the two filed for divorce, and Corey returned to the ring by March 2012 to SHOOT Project with a new sense of purpose. In 2013, a pair of nasty injuries (Grade II PCL tear in his left knee, scratched cornea in his left eye) put him on the sideline for most of the summer, and his return was slowed down by SHOOT Project's official closing in January 2014. Now a free agent, Corey has returned to the grassroots, looking to once again resurrect his career and shine in his own spotlight.
