Chris Bond vs. Johnny Karma
[The arena is bathed in a warm glow of orange and red lights as the sheer epicness of John Paul Jones’ drum intro to “When the Levee Breaks” fills the arena, and at the exact microsecond that Jimmy Page’s riff starts The Man, The Myth, The Johnny Karma swaggers out onto the top of the ramp to greet his adoring public with Cherry Baum hanging on his arm, pausing to blow a kiss to all his fans in attendance who paid to see him and only him this evening, before he starts to walk down to the ring]
[Karma walks down the ramp, making sure not a single hair is out of place on his head, making sure to talk to his adoring public as they address him whilst he walks down to the ring]
[The pair reach ringside, as Cherry climbs onto the apron and holds the ropes open for her man. Karma waves to the luckiest fans of all, those at ringside as he performs, before walking up the ring steps and climbing into the ring through the gap Cherry has created for him]
[Karma walks across the ring, climbing the turnbuckles and raises an arm into the air, holding up one finger to remind us all of one simple truth – He’s #1]
[Karma climbs down, then walks across the ring and climbs the opposite turnbuckles, looking out into the crowd who have paid for the privilege of watching him wrestle, before unzipping his track top to reveal his chiselled physique. He removes his dark glasses and places them in his jacket pocket, before climbing down]
[As he stands in the ring, Cherry Baum takes the house mic]
Cherry Baum: Introducing first for your viewing pleasure, he is the superstar, the iron man, and your hero...weighing in at a chiseled, buff and and jacked 233lbs, and hailing from Queens, NYC – he is the man who put "I see" in "NYC"...he is JOHNNY KARMA!
[Cherry steps aside and gives a round of applause as Johnny K steps into the centre of the ring to remove his jacket and give a bow to the crowd, before Cherry hands him the microphone]
Johnny Karma: Ladies and…
ladies[Karma winks, then brushes a strand of hair back into place]
Johnny Karma: It is my duty to inform you that tonight's match will be for one fall, with a time limit of however long it takes before I get bored wrestling rings around this ham and egger and put him out of our collective boredom, and it will be the most discussed, the most praised, and the collector of the most stars on the internet following the show. But, most of all, it is the one show this weekend where you are guaranteed to see wrestling - and I heard that Chris Bond isn't too bad in the ring either.
[Karma hands the mic to Cherry, before juking and jiving in the corner]
Clement: I can' believe this is even possible. But Johnny Karma is even cockier than he was the last time we saw him.
Grayson: And why shouldn't he be? He was in fact the iron man of the Gold Rush Rumble.
Clement: Iron man?
Grayson: Yes, iron man. He lasted the longest. He had the most eliminations. He was simply magnificent in that Gold Rush Rumble.
Clement: He was, except for the small fact that he lost the match.
Grayson: ... so?
"If you take a life, do you know what you'll give...
Odds are, you won't like what it is...
When the storm arrives, would you be seen with me...
By the merciless eyes I've deceived...
I've seen angels fall from blinding heights...
But you yourself are nothing so divine...
Just next in line..."The house lights dim in the smaller facility, and multi-colored lights soon flicker throughout the filled-to-the-brim center. The crowd jumps to it's feet, blowing the roof off from the much smaller arena as Chris Bond makes his way out from behind the curtains. As he emerges from behind the curtain, there is a small burst of excitement from the crowd. With a spotlight lighting his way, Bond makes his way down the aisle and towards the ring, even slapping a few hands on the way down.
Cruz: And his opponent, now residing out of Chicago, Illinois. Weighing in at 238 pounds.... CHRIS BOND!
Soon enough he jogs up the stairs, and walks along the ring apron before wiping his feet. Chris Bond steps over the second rope and into the ring. The self-proclaimed legend of the wrestling world walks to the center of the ring and stands there for a moment, as flashes go off through out the waves of fans. He circles the ring, arms outstretched, as the fans cheer loudly once again. Bond enjoys this, as his trademark smirk re-emerges on his face. Heading to his corner, Bond does a few stretches as he waits for the match to begin.
Clement: Chris Bond came within an eyelash of winning the FGA Championship back at Only the Strong Survive. We heard him earlier tonight calling out Chris Q for a rematch. And Chris Q refused!
Grayson: Why should he accept? He lost, so he should get to the back of the line. He wasn't the champion. There was no rematch clause to exercise. Hey, if he wants to get beat up again by Chris Q then so be it. But Chris shouldn't have to put his belt on the line.
The bell sounds as both wrestlers circle the ring and lock up. After jockeying for position, it's Bond who throws down Karma with an arm drag to cheers from the crowd. Grayson: Upset? This was far from an upset! Johnny Karma is far and away better than Chris Bond could ever be. He's so far out of his league. This wasn't an upset victory. This was an expected victory.
Clement: Where does Bond go from here?
Grayson: I don't know. But if he were smart, he'd hit up Karma for some pointers after the show.
