"Lies" by Evanescence is heard of the stereo system as the arena lights dim down and smoke pours off the ground. Around the one minute of "Lies" Perello is seen coming through the curtain, a slow pace in his step. His eyes are set on the ring, only making eye contact with certain fans who heckle him. He slides into the ring, gets to his feet, and raises both of his arms in the air, spinning around in a circle as he does so. He then starts throwing punches at the air, getting himself loose and prepared for the match.

He's a former undercover cop who was part of taking down a mob leader in Brooklyn in 2010. One winternight, he and his wife had decided to go out for dinner, and the wife went out to start the car while Joey was on call with his boss, and when the wife turned the car on, it exploded, killing his wife. They all know that the bomb was set for Joey set by someone from the mob he took down, but they never found the guy. Since then, Joey's been going to therapy, doing yoga, anything to control his emotions and let out stress. He's given up on the human race, literally hating everything and everyone. He quit his job as a federal agent in fear that he would just become a cold blooded killer. One day, his mentor, Damien Clark, who was Ex-Special Ops CIA had suggested pro wrestling. He told Joey that he suggested it as an escape for another man, and that man has went on to be successful in his work. Joey was running out of options, and decided to give it a try and started working local gym shows, and picked up on the art of wrestling mighty quickly and it became something he enjoyed doing.
