[ LAST WEEK on Wednesday Weekly Combat ] Once both men get up, Chandler rakes him across the eyes to boos from the crowd. He then takes Jared and whips him into the ropes. When Jared comes back, Chandler goes for a back body drop. But Jared slips down from behind. He then turns Chandler around, kicks him in the midsection and takes him down with The Dagger. The crowd cheers. Jared then waits for Chandler to get in position. Once Chandler tries to get up off the canvas, Jared runs over, leaps up and takes him down with The Hawk Drop. The crowd cheers. Jared turns him over and makes the cover. 1.............................2....................3. Cruz: Here is your winner, JARED JAMES! “Gimme Love” plays as Jared gets his hand raised to cheers from the crowd. Jared then goes into the corner, climbs up onto the second turnbuckle and raises his arms in the air to cheers from the crowd. Roberts: Jared James just keeps on rolling, picking up another victory and completing his sweep over The Harvard Connection! While Jared is celebrating, Preston Blake runs down to the ring, slides in, runs over, yanks down Jared from out of the corner and delivers clubbing shots from behind. Chandler then gets up and goes over to help Preston double team Jared. The bell repeatedly rings while the crowd boos. Roberts: Oh come on you two. Enough's enough. You both lost to the man. Just tip your cap and give him the credit that he deserves. Don't do this! The Harvard Connection continues to pummel Jared to boos from the crowd. But the boos soon turn to cheers once Blaine Harrison races down to the ring with a steel chair in hand. As soon as Blaine slides in, The Harvard Connection bail and scurry up the aisle and to the back with Madison. Roberts: Thank God for Blaine Harrison. If not for him, Jared may not have even made it to the Chase for the Crown tournament. It was last week that Jared saved Blaine from likely getting his arm snapped in two. These week, Blaine returns the favor, saving Jared from a Harvard Connection beat down. “Let's See Action” plays as Blaine helps Jared back up to his feet. The two shake hands and eventually raise each other's arms in the air to cheers from the crowd. The scene cuts backstage to Scott Reave, who is watching what is taking place in the ring on a small monitor backstage. His eyes narrow as he shakes his head in disgust at the two men on the monitor. He then walks away as the camera slowly zooms in on the monitor. The camera zooms in to the point where the monitor encompasses the screen. Jared and Blaine can once again be seen playing up to the crowd as the crowd cheers them on...... [/blockquote]

The fans are suddenly hit in the ears by the sounds of "End Of The Story" by Downstait blaring over the speaker system. Who in the world could this possibly be? It was brand new music to them. Maybe it could be someone great and exciting? Oh they had no idea how true that would be at the moment.
Not too long into the song, they are greeted by a man who has become quite the big subject line here in Frontier Grappling Arts Wrestling, a man by the name of Jack Flener. Looking around at everyone, he gave them a glare like no other. He sported a longish leather coat, no shirt, a pair of denim jeans, and a pair of DC's, which is a very common look for The Epitome of Excellence. Some of the people knew who he was: those people mostly booed him, but there were some who seemed like they were having an orgasm by his presence. It's nothing too exciting, you know?
A slight shake of his head as if disappointed by the crowd, he made his way down the walk way before hitting the ring, jumping up to the side of the ring apron, hanging there for a moment and still glaring at everyone. He finally stood to his feet and entered the ring, just staring around at everyone like they were complete morons. In Jack's eyes, they were. He took his jacket off and tossed it to the side while going over to the other side of the ring and grabbing a mic. Calling for his music to cut, his song slowly faded away to the back.
»» JACK FLENER "Wow... in all my years of professional wrestling, this crowd has to be the SORRIEST excuse for a crowd. When I walk out from that back stage, I expect that EACH and every one of you stand on your feet and show the respect that I deserve!"
Early heel heat is always a good thing to gain in your company debut. It definitely lit a fire under the crowd. Boos slowly started to shower down on him.
»» JACK FLENER "Quit that booing! I swear to you that I will go out to that crowd and beat the snot out of every single one of you if it keeps up!"
Was that going to get them to shut up? You'd be an idiot to think that. It just made them want to boo him even more. Glaring around at everyone, he just shakes his head and continues on with what he was saying.
»» JACK FLENER "As I'm sure you've all heard, I am the single greatest thing that could ever happen to this run down company that you inbred hillbillies like to call 'entertainment'. I am the be all, end all in this industry. I am the Epitome of Excellence, the Harbinger of Greatness. I am none other than.... Jack.... Flener. You may now precede to honor me in all my eternal glory like the wrestling god I am!"
Honor? More like belittle. More and more boos slowly started to rain down upon Jack's head, along with a few loud mouth fans cracking jokes at his expense. One in particular yelled out 'If you're a wrestling god, I'm the son of Jesus Christ!' Staring out at the person, he had an instant comeback.
»» JACK FLENER "I'd watch that mouth of yours, boy. I'd hate to have to make you turn your other cheek from my back hand against your face!"
A few laughs came from the crowd, but it was mostly a negative reaction and, of course, it riled up the guy he was talking to. A small smirk appeared on Jack's face before he went on with what he was saying.
»» JACK FLENER "So, now that I'm here at FGA, I only ask for one thing to keep me happy. Just ONE thing. And that's for the FGA Heavyweight Championship to be handed to me to save everyone else the trouble of being taken out by me. There is not a damn person in that back stage locker room that could take me on. HOWEVER, it's apparently unfair for me to just be handed the title, according to the Frontier Head of Office. I have to earn my shot."
One person decided to speak up and say 'yeah, you're damn right you have to earn it you sorry sack of crap!' A quick shot was given over to the person and an instant retaliation was made.
»» JACK FLENER "You don't look like you know anything about earning something yourself, tubby. Except about a dozen trips to the health clinic for heart attacks and high blood pressure! Keep that talk up and we can add another trip to that list!"
A few oh's of astonishment came from the crowd at the back fire and once again, they were riled up with emotion. Another small laugh came from Jack before continuing on with his rant.
»» JACK FLENER "But you know what? That's okay! Because it's become official. I'm the final name that has been put into a slot in the Chase For The Crown tournament. For those parasitic ignorant people out there, that's the tournament to determine the first-ever FGA Heavyweight Champion. Do I need to explain it any slower than that for the mentally challenged people out there? Oh, I'm sorry, that's all of you."
Jack really knows how to make a crowd mad and to react. Even more boos than before showered him and it didn't seem to phase him. He seemed to be getting joy from being hated by everyone in the building. Guess it's just an acquired taste.
»» JACK FLENER "So I will fight my way through this tournament. When the smoke and dust clears out, there will only be one person left standing in the ring. That man is going to be me. Come January 27th, I will be the first-ever, the greatest of all time, the final, and the only FGA Heavyweight Champion of the world! Get it? Got it? Screw you, I'm out of here!"
With that said, he dropped the mic and headed out of the ring, greeted by more boos and the sounds of his theme music going off. Heading to the back, he made a quick pause right before the curtains and simply stood there, holding out his arms and leaning his head back, as if soaking in the hatred and jeers of the crowd for energy before walking behind the curtains.

Sam Roberts: Welcome, Frontier Fans, to another edition of Wednesday Weekly Combat. I am Sam Roberts. Tonight, we'll continue our road to A New Odyssey as we are just one week away from crowning a new champion at the event. But before we get to that, we have one last edition of Combat to get through. In our opening contest, Michael Hopkins takes on the veteran Jack Flener. Can Tomkins pull off yet another upset? Or will Jack Flener prove that last week was indeed a fluke? In our second match, Scott Reave will go up against newcomer Jacques Mercier. Will “Black Magic” have the same success that Mike Tomkins had last week over Reave? Or will The Submission Slaughterhouse be able to bounce back against the rookie? And in our main event, two men who have a lot of respect for each other go at it as Blaine Harrison goes one on one against Jared James. Two weeks ago, it was Jared James who saved Blaine Harrison from a post-match attack from Scott Reave. And just last week, it was Blaine who returned the favor, saving Jared from The Harvard Connection. Of course, the Harvard Connection will be joining me backstage to provide commentary for tonight's main event. That is sure to be interesting to say the least. Now before we get to tonight's opening contest, I'm being told that the other member of tonight's bout, Michael Tomkins, has some words to say. So let's send it to the back to Michael Tomkiins.....

::: The feed cuts back to the locker room, where Justice Young stands, microphone in hand with the FGA rookie Michael Tomkins along with wrestling legend Timmy Brown. Timmy is all suited up, wearing an expensive Gucci combination while Michael is wearing his ring attire and his black FGA shirt. :::
Justice: I’m here in the Frontier locker room with the 20 year old hot shot from London, England. Nice to see you today, Michael.
Tomkins: Cheers, Just.
Justice: Last week you made an impressive start to your career here in the FGA, defeating Scott Reave in your in-ring debut.
Tomkins: Yeah. It was a difficult match, as you would have seen. Scott pushed the envelope with me and tried to make me yet another victim. But like I said, I knew I would win and that’s exactly what happened.
Justice: But many people are saying that were it not for Timmy Brown, here… Well things may not have gone that way.
Brown: Yeah? Is that what people are saying?
Justice: A few people have said it to me.
Brown: Who?
Justice: Well…
Tomkins: It doesn’t matter what people are saying here, Justice. If people actually watched the whole match they would have seen a kid that showed a lot of heart by not giving up, despite Reave’s best efforts. That kid showed desire and perseverance that are unmatched here in the FGA. One way or another, I would have won that match. And Timmy is under strict orders not to do anything like that tonight.
Brown: Yeah. I’m going to be on my best behavior.
Justice: So tonight you have yet another big challenge. Three time World Champion Jack Flener. Will you be lucky two weeks on the trot as the under dog?
Tomkins: Lucky, huh? That’s how you want to call it?
Brown: That’s what he said, kid.
Tomkins: Justice, they call me the Rogue because no one sees the win coming. I seemingly come out of nowhere and change the dynamics of any match. My victories take everyone by surprise and at the end of it all, it’s always going to be me coming off with the victory. Like last week, from out of nowhere, I made Scott Reave have a real Taste of Greatness. Will tonight be any different? The means might be, but the end result will be the same.
Justice: You certainly seem confident.
Tomkins: Why wouldn’t I be? I know what I am capable of. Tonight I am willing to show it again. And after I beat Flener or Copeland or whatever he is calling himself this week, perhaps people will see why I have been named in the Chase for the Crown tournament.
Justice: Interesting. Speaking of the upcoming supershow tournament, at 2012: A New Odyssey, how do you think you will fair?
Tomkins: As I said, they call me the Rogue for a reason. I have to be the wildcard in this tournament. The underdog too. I may have defeated Scott Reave once, and tonight I will defeat Flener, once. But three opponents on one night, with my first being the guy who will be more determined than ever to putting me down and out as a measure of revenge. The odds are surely stacked against me. But the Rogue likes that sort of situation. He likes being the afterthought. But the Defector is designed to change people’s mindsets. And when that happens, everyone will see that it only takes three seconds to win a match.
Brown: And those seconds.
Tomkins: Tim, I can talk for myself you know?
Brown: Say it then.
Tomkins: They belong to me. You may well be looking at the first ever FGA Heavyweight Champion right now. I make only one promise. I will do everything in my power to make that dream come true.
Justice: Well, there you have it. The rookie, Michael “the Rogue” Tomkins and his mentor “the Electric” Timmy Brown have their heads held high with both men eyeing up that Title for their mantel. Good luck in your match tonight, Michael.....

Michael Tomkins vs. Jack Flener “End of the Story” plays as Jack Flener parts the curtains. After scanning the crowd, he makes his way down to the ring to boos from the crowd. After making his way up onto the apron, he steps through the ropes, climbs up onto the second turnbuckle and slowly spreads his arms out to boos from the crowd.
Cruz: The following contest is scheduled for one fall with a fifteen minute time limit. Introducing first..... From Louisville, Kentucky..... Weighing in at 220 pounds..... He is the Epitome of Excellence, JACK FLENER!
Cruz: Jack Flener is a renown superstar, achieving several World Heavyweight Titles along his travels. But he comes here to Frontier to dominate, looking to become the first-ever Frontier Heavyweight Champion. But his opponent tonight isn't a softy. Michael Tomkins is no slouch. And you always have to be weary with Timmy Brown on the outside.
"Hey Ho Let's Go" by The Ramoans hits, and the lights around the entrance go out. When they come up, Michael Tomkins stands still wearing his black leather jacket with the word "Rogue" embroided on the back. Looking from left to right, he grins at the cheers from the fans, before heading down to the ring.
Roberts: And his opponent, being accompanied to the ring by Timmy Brown.... From London, England..... Weighing in at 225 pounds.... He is The Rogue, MICHAEL TOMKINS!
Timmy Brown then appears from behind the curtain, changing the cheers to boos which he ignores, heading briskly to the ring. Michael climbs to the top rope, looking around the crowd before raising both his arms. Taking in the moment, he closes his eyes, before jumping back down, ready to start his match.
Roberts: Michael Tomkins shocked everyone here in Frontier last week when he defeated the seemingly unstoppable Scott Reave. But that ending wasn't without controversy as Timmy Brown's interference, depending on how you look at it, contributed to Reave's loss. Will Tomkins be able to win yet again? And what role, if any, will Timmy Brown play in the outcome?
The bell sounds as Flener runs over and knocks down Tomkins from behind with a clothesline. The crowd boos as Flener puts the boots to Tomkins, stomping away at him. He then picks up Tomkin, brings him into the corner and slams his head into the top turnbuckle. Flener turns him around and delivers a series of knee strikes to the midsection, followed by a choke to the neck with both hands. The crowd boos. Timmy can be seen repeatedly slapping his hand on the apron and shouting at Tomkins to fight back. The ref scurries over and gives Flener until the count of five to break the hold.
Ref: 1......................2.....................3...................4...............
Flener breaks the hold, only to nail Tomkins with a right hand. He then grabs Tomkins and whips him into the opposite corner. Flener charges into the opposite corner and clocks Tomkins with a rolling elbow strike. The thud from the strike can be heard throughout the building. A dazed Tomkins slowly slumps down into the corner to boos from the crowd. The boos continues as Flener takes his foot and repeatedly facewashes Tomkins. Flener then runs into the ropes. Timmy quickly reaches under the bottom rope and trips up Flener with his hands. Angered, Flener quickly turns around and connects with a baseball slide, knocking Timmy down to the canvas.
Roberts: Timmy Brown has once again stuck his nose in Michael Tomkins' business. Tomkins has told him that he wants to win matches on his own merits. But Timmy is insistent on helping his student win at any cost....
Flener gets back up and heads over towards Tomkins. But Tomkins reaches up, pulls himself up using the ropes and stops Flener with a kick to the midsection. He then grabs a hold of Flener and slams his head into the top turnbuckle. Tomkins then climbs up onto the middle turnbuckle and punches Flener while the crowd counts along.
Crowd: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7........
Flener then grabs Tomkins, runs from out of the corner and delivers an inverted atomic drop. The crowd boos as Tomkins stands doubled over in pain. Flener quickly follows up with a leg hook reverse STO. The crowd boos as he makes the cover. 1..........................2..................Tomkins gets his shoulder up.
Flener picks up Tomkins and throws him down with a scoop slam. He then heads towards the ropes. When Flener comes back, he follows up with a quick leg drop. He turns over and makes the cover. 1......................2.................Tomkins gets his shoulder up. Flener picks up Tomkins and whips him into the ropes. When Tomkins comes back, Flener goes for a punch. But Tomkins ducks and runs into the ropes. When Tomkins comes back, Flener goes for a knife-edge chop. But again, Tomkins ducks and runs into the ropes. When Tomkins comes back, he takes Flener down with a Lou Thesz Press. He then mounts himself on top of Flener and hammers away with elbow strikes to the face. The crowd cheers.
Roberts: Michael Tomkins is absolutely unloading on Jack Flener with those elbow strikes, nailing him with shot after shot after shot!
Tomkins then gets up off of Flener and plays to the crowd as they cheer him on. He goes back over, picks up Flener, wrings his arm and follows up with a hook kick, knocking him down. As Flener slowly gets up, Tomkins nails him with four kicks to the midsection, followed by a spinning back fist to the face that stuns Flener. Tomkins then steps back, sizes Flener up and throws a roundhouse kick. But Flener ducks and counters with an inverted headlock backbreaker to boos from the crowd. Flener makes the cover. 1............................2.................Tomkins gets his shoulder up.
Roberts: Nice counter by the veteran, but it only gets a two count. Michael Tomkins took all that Scott Reave gave him last week and came out on top. Regardless of what happened with Timmy on the outside, Tomkins needs to maintain composure and not panic. Jack Flener is a veteran in this ring. So Tomkins needs to stay on his toes if he wants to have a chance at winning.
Flener picks up Tomkins and whips him into the ropes. When Tomkins comes back, Flener bends over to set up a back body drop. But Tomkins stops and kicks Flener square in the face, standing him upright. He then follows up with a roundhouse kick, knocking Flener down to cheers from the crowd. He makes the cover. 1............................2...............Flener gets his shoulder up.
Roberts: Tommins nearly kicked his head off with that roundhouse blow to the head. But it only gets two....
Tomkins picks up Flener and whips him into the corner. Tomkins runs into the corner, but Flener nails him with a boot to the face, sending him stumbling back away from the crowd. The crowd boos. Flener then runs from out of the corner. But Tomkins lifts him up, turns and throws him down with a spinebuster. The crowd cheers. Tomkins rolls across Flener and hooks the leg. 1...........................2...................Flener gets his shoulder up. Tomkins sighs. He then gets up to his feet. As he brings up Flener, Flener rakes him across the eyes to boos from the crowd. He then grabs a hold of Tomkins, slowly turns him around and then drops him with a hangman's neckbreaker. The crowd boos. Flener then steps through the ropes, makes his way along the apron and begins to climb the turnbuckles. Once Flener reaches the top, he raises his arms in the air to boos from the crowd. A smirk forms across his face before leaping off, going for a diving leg drop. But Tomkins rolls out of the way, resulting in Flener crashing onto the canvas. The crowd cheers. Flener can be seen rolling around clutching his leg in pain.
Roberts: And nobody's home! Flener looked to put this match away with the high risk move from up top. But Tomkins was able to roll out of the way. This could be the opening that the young man needs to get back into this contest....
As both men slowly get up, Tomkins begins to nail him with several stiff kicks to the leg. Tomkins takes a few steps back, sizes Flener up, runs and goes for another kick. But Flener reaches down and catches his foot to boos from the crowd. He then spins Tomkins around. But when Tomkins comes back, he grabs Flener and throws him down with a belly to belly suplex. The crowd cheers. Tomkins then gets up, goes over to Flener's lower body and lifts up Flener's hurt leg. The crowd cheers. Tomkins tries to turn him over into a single leg crab. But Flener reaches up and pokes Tomkins in the eyes to boos from the crowd. Tomkins immediately drops to his knees, clutching his eye in pain. Flener then picks up Tomkins, knees him in the midsection and then plants him with a hammerlock DDT. The crowd boos while Flener motions with his hands that this match is about to be over.
Jack Flener comes off of the ropes and hit’s a running STO. Michael Tomkins hits the ground hard, and rolls onto his front, clearly in pain. Flener hops up to his feet, and feels the heat from the crowd, smiling darkly at his fallen opponent. He stalks around Tomkins, waiting for him to start climbing to a vertical base. As Michael is back on his feet, Flener moves in position to hit the Downfall Of Us All. Timmy Brown hops up onto the ring apron and starts engaging the referee in a heated discussion as Jack Flener connects with the move, and rolls Michael Tomkins over to make the cover, with a leg hooked for good measure. It takes a few seconds for Jack to realize there is no count. Flener jumps back up to his feet and charges at Timmy who drops back down off the ring side and taunts Flener, pointing at Tomkins as if to say, go take it up with him. Flener turns back round and walks over to Tomkins. Grabbing Michael Tomkins by the neck, Jack pulls him up to his feet to hit the move again. Tomkins lashes out quickly with a kick to the midsection before scooping him up into a cradle, and nailing him with the Defector. He rolls on top of Flener for the pin. 1.....................2..................3.
Cruz: Here is your winner, MICHAEL TOMKINS!
Roberts: Michael Tomkins just stole a win thanks to his mentor, Timmy Brown! But he doesn’t even seem to know anything happened! That was his second big upset in two weeks! This kid must be flying! But will he feel the same once he finds out Brown got involved again?
Tomkins slowly is helped to his feet by Timmy Brown, as the ref holds up his hand to signify the win. Michael’s free arm hugs at the back of his head, where he has obviously suffered some amount of discomfort. He lets go of the referee’s hand and walks over to the corner, before pointing at a 2012: A New Odyssey Poster on a wall. He then makes a Championship Belt gesture around his waist, before shrugging his shoulders. He signifies that he wants a microphone, which one of the grips quickly hands to him.
Tomkins: You know what? That’s the second time I have come into a Frontier ring and proved everybody wrong. I came into this fight as the underdog and came out with the win. Now there’s six guys out the back right now along with Jack here and myself that are all gunning for the same thing. Out of the eight of us, I’m probably still the underdog on paper. But I’ve proved it. None of that matters to me. I come out here to show the world that I am the future of professional wrestling. One day I will be your Heavyweight Champion. I say, why wait? I have won as the underdog twice. Whose to say I can’t do it again?
The crowd cheers at these remarks from the rookie, Michael Tomkins. Tim taps him on the shoulder to ask him to jump down off of the turnbuckle, which the Rogue does, before handing his mentor the mic, to instant boos from the crowd.
Brown: This kid is the real deal. And Mike, we’ll train together and I’ll always be here to help you be the best you can be.
Michael Tomkins looks a bit skeptical, before he grabs the microphone back off of Timmy.
Tomkins: Did you interfere with my match? After I specifically asked you not to?
Brown shakes his head, before grabbing the microphone back off of Tomkins.
Brown: No, I swear I didn’t touch him.
“Hey Ho Let’s Go” by the Ramoans hits as the two exit the ring and walk back up the ramp again, with Tomkins holding his arms up to the crowd to once again celebrate his victory.
Roberts: Well, Tomkins doesn’t know what happened, but he’s sure to find out. Either way, the kid has two wins under his belt and is looking to build some more momentum for the Chase the Crown Tournament next week. He seems confident in his chances, but will he be able to do it without Timmy at ringside? I guess we’ll find out!

For years, we've been told that 2012 will mark the end of the world....
We've been led to believe that 2012 will see the end of civilization as we know it.....
But we disagree.....
2012 will not be the end but in fact, the beginning......
The start of a new era.......
A new journey.....
A new FRONTIER......
A new......Odyssey......
2012: A New Odyssey. January 27th.

Scott Reave vs. Jacques Mercier The lights cut to black as “I Still Wana” by Pusha T ft. Rick Ross and Ab Liva begins to play. At around the 12 second mark, The lights begin to flash and at the 24 second mark, Jacques Mercier comes out with a huge grin on his face. He stops at the top of the stage, soaking in the atmosphere, before nodding his head and walking towards the ring.
Cruz: The following contest is scheduled for one fall with a twenty minute time limit. Introducing first..... from Boston, Massachusetts... Weighing in at 230 pounds.... He is Black Magic, JACQUES MERCIER!
He doesn’t bother using the stairs, preferring to just slide into the ring. He walks to the nearest turnbuckle and climbs it to another ovation before climbing down and waiting for his opponent.
Roberts: Jacques Mercier, a student of Antoine Hurst, if making his in-ring debut here in Frontier against Scott Reave. Jacques is looking to have the same luck that Michael Tomkins had last week against Reave. With A New Odyssey just a little over a week away, Jacques needs all the momentum in the world heading into the Chase for the Crown Tournament....
The lights quickly cut to black, and there is nothing but the small flicker of flame from lighters in the audience. A familiar yet different scream is heard as Trent Reznor and Karen O's cover of "Immigrant Song" starts to play.
“We come from the land of the ice and snow, From the midnight sun where the hot springs flow.”
As “flow” cuts out, the lights over the entrance way begin to flicker on and off repeatedly, manipulating the world into a series of still shots. We see a figure image from behind the curtain, wearing a black zip-up hoodie with the hood pulled up along with his ring attire. He keeps the hoodie low over his face as he surveys the crowd tonight before walking down the ramp and towards the steel steps.
Cruz: And his opponent..... From The Bowery, New York..... Weighing in at 225 pounds.... SCOTT REAVE!
He then quickly jogs up the steps and onto the second turnbuckle, where he poses for the fans in a familiar crucifix position. He then jumps over the turnbuckles and lands firmly in the corner. He walks to the middle of the ring, pauses for a moment, and then lifts the hood to reveal Scott Reave with a shit-eating grin. He then shuffles on over to his corner, where he pulls off the hoodie and leans into the turnbuckle, the lights come up and the music fades as he leans there, awaiting the ring of a bell.
Roberts: Scott Reave was looked at for a while as the man to beat in Frontier. Some will still see him that way. But it cannot be denied that Scott Reave suffered a disappointing loss last week to newcomer Michael Hopkins. Reave has to bounce back this week. If he wants to go into that tournament next week with any momentum, he needs to defeat Jacques here tonight. Going into A New Odyssey with two straight losses would be the absolute worse case scenario for Reave....
The bell sounds as both men circle the ring. They go to lock up, but Mercier ducks the collar & elbow tie up and swings around, applying a waistlock from behind. But Reave quickly stomps down, stomping on top of Mercier's toes and countering the waistlock into an arm wringer. Mercier quickly grabs Mercier by the wrist and counters with an arm wringer of his own. But Reave rolls forward, leans back, kips up, takes Mercier by the wrist, raises his arm and delivers an arm breaker across his shoulder. The crowd boos. Reave takes Mercier by the wrist and delivers another arm wringer.....and another.....and another. He then delivers an elbows to the back of the arm before delivering another arm wringer. Reave then delivers a European Uppercut to the arm before delivering another arm wringer. He then takes Mercier by the wrist, nails him with four shoot kicks to the chest, and then throws him down with an arm drag. He then quickly transitions into a top wristlock to boos from the crowd. The ref asks Mercier if he wants to give up. But Mercier refuses to quit. He then slowly makes his way back up to his feet. Mercier then rolls forward, kips up, crouches down, turns and sweeps Reave's leg with his arm, knocking Reave down to the canvas. Mercier makes the quick cover. 1...........................2..............Reave kicks out.
Roberts: First pin attempt of the match only gets two for Jacques....
Mercier quickly places Reave in a side headlock. But Reave gets up to his feet and shoves Mercier off of him, sending him into the ropes. When Mercier comes back, he knocks Reave down with a standing shoulderblock. Mercier then runs into the ropes as Reave gets back up to his feet. When Mercier comes back, Reave grabs him, runs and tosses him through the ropes and to the floor. The crowd boos. As Mercier slowly pulls himself up on the apron using the ropes, Reave goes to attack him. But Mercier nails him with a shoulder thrust through the ropes. He then quickly grabs Reave and sends him to the outside with a suplex. The crowd cheers. Mercier then pulls himself up on the apron using the ropes. He then looks back, waiting for Reave to get up. Once Reave gets up and turns around, Mercier springboards onto the top rope and connects with a 540 Corkscrew Moonsault, knocking Reave down. Cheers and applause can be heard throughout the crowd.
Roberts: What a move by Jacques, followed up the suplex to the outside with that 540 corkscrew! What athleticism by this young man!
Mercier picks up Reave, rolls him into the ring, rolls himself back in and makes the cover. 1...........................2.................Reave gets his shoulder up. Mercier picks him up and whips him into the corner. Mercier charges into the corner and connects with a running clothesline. He then grabs Reave and whips him into the opposite corner. Mercier charges into the corner and goes for another clothesline. But Reave nails him with an elbow to the face to boos from the crowd. He then hoists himself up onto the middle turnbuckle, grabs Mercier by the arm and goes for a tornado single arm DDT. But Mercies holds onto the middle rope with his free arm, stopping the move. As both men slowly get up to their feet, Reave leaps up, grabs Mercier by the arm and takes him down with a jumping armbreaker. The crowd boos as Mercier clutches his arm in pain. Reave picks up Mercier, hammerlocks his arm, runs towards the corner and throws Mercier shoulder-first against the turnbuckles. As Mercies stumbles back, Reave kicks him in the midsection, scoops him up across his shoulder, runs and delivers a shoulderbreaker. Main Event Jared James vs. Blaine Harrison "Let's See Action" by The Who starts playing throughout the arena until Roger Daltrey's vocal booms forth as Blaine Harrison appears at the top of the aisle with Jenny by his side. Blaine poses with his right fist raised to the skies as Jenny stands to his left, lifting her right arm in the same manner. Three seconds later and they're making their way down the aisle, slapping hands with the adoring fans on their respective sides before Blaine slides in under the bottom rope; Jenny takes her place outside the ring as they wait for the match to begin.
Roberts: Blaine Harrison making his way down to the ring with Jenny Zellor. With me right now are both members of The Harvard Connection, Preston Blake and Chandler Scott. Gentlemen, welcome.
Preston: The pleasure is all yours, Roberts.
Chandler: You should be honored to have the privilege of having us call this match.
The Nosiecontroller's big hit "Gimme Love" starts up as the arena goes dark with a sole light fixated on the curtain. Smoke begins to pour into the venue when, finally, Jared James comes out from the back. As the music continues to blare, Jared James slowly walks down the ramp and to the ring. He is doing his best to get the crowd going, giving high fives and signing a couple of autographs until he finally reaches the ring. Once he reaches the ring James goes to the nearest turnbuckle and climbs it, throwing both arms into the air as the crowd goes crazy.
Preston: That's right, Jared. You throw those arms in the air. You get these peons all excited. It's not going to matter. Because next week at A New Odyssey, I'm going to beat you once and for all.
Chandler: This man has skated by and has gotten lucky time and time again. He's lucked out against James Weck. He's even lucked out against The Harvard Connection. But his luck will run out next Friday when he loses in the first round of that Chase for the Crown Tournament.
Roberts: That remains to be seen, gentlemen.
Preston: Nonsense! If anything, it's a forgone conclusion. Jared James, and Blaine Harrison for that matter, will not walk out of the Rahway Rec Center as the first ever Frontier Heavyweight Champion. But guess who will?
Chandler: A member of The Harvard Connection...
Preston: That's who!
Cruz: The following contest is scheduled for one fall with a thirty minute time limit. And it is your main event of the evening. Introduced first, accompanied to the ring by Jenny Zellor..... Residing out of Santa Barbara, California..... Weighing in at 216 pounds..... he is Metal Heart, BLAINE HARRISON!
(The crowd cheers)
Roberts: This crowd sure does love Blaine Harrison.
Preston: These imbeciles in New Jersey like a lot of stupid things. Clearly, they have no taste. But when you grow up in the toxic waste dump that is New Jersey, I wouldn't expect these peasants to know anything about class and taste. That's why they boo the likes of The Harvard Connection while cheering on those two clowns in the ring.
Roberts: If anything, they cheer on Jared and Blaine because they do things the right way, they stand for what they believe in, and the fact that they're both tremendous athletes.
Preston: Whatever you say, Steve.
Roberts: It's Sam....
Cruz: And his opponent.... Residing out of Durham, New Hampshire..... Weighing in at 197 pounds.... He is Mr. Nice Guy, JARED JAMES!
(The crowd cheers)
Chandler: Jared James, Mr. Nice Guy. Apparently he didn't the memo. Not only do nice guys finish last, but they fail to win Heavyweight Championships, too.
Preston: Good one, Chandler.
The bell sounds as both men make their way to the center of the ring and shake each other's hand.
Harvard Connection: Aaaaaaaaaaaaw!
They then circle the ring. They inch closer and closer to each other before locking up. After jockeying for position, Jared throws Blaine down with an arm drag. Both men quickly get back up to their feet. They circle the ring. Both men make their way towards each other and lock up. But Blaine reverses into a hammerlock from behind. The ref asks Jared if he wants to give up. But Jared refuses to quit. After slowly making his way back up to his feet, Jared reaches behind him, grabs Blaine with his free arm, jumps up and then comes down with a snapmare takeover, breaking the hold. Blaine quickly turns over and gets up to his feet. Both men continue to circle the ring. They make their way back towards each other and lock up. After jockeying for position, Blaine places Jared in a side headlock. He then performs a standing switch, transitioning into a hammerlock from behind. Jared then rolls over, turns over onto his knees, does a handstand kip up and counters with an arm wringer of his own. Blaine then rolls forward, leans back, kips up and counters with another arm wringer. Jared then goes to the ropes, grabs the top rope with his free hand, performs a backflip and counters with another arm wringer. But Blaine then runs into the corner, runs up to the top turnbuckle, dives off and throws Jared down with a flying arm drag. The crowd cheers. Both men slowly get back up to their feet, never taking their eyes off of each other. Cheers and applause can be heard throughout the crowd.
Roberts: What a nice display of mat wrestling there by Jared and Blaine. And this crowd is showing their appreciation.
Preston: Not bad. Not bad at all. But when you want to talk about mat wrestling, it gets no better than The Harvard Connection.
Chandler: Not only did we dominate the books, Scott, but we dominated the collegiate ranks as well.
Roberts: It's Sam....
Both men circle the ring. They head towards the center of the ring and lock up. After jockeying for position, Blaine moves Jared into the corner. The ref quickly scurries over and tells both men to break it up by the count of five.

But Jared ducks and runs into the ropes. When Jared comes back, Blaine goes for a pump kick. But again, Jared ducks and runs into the ropes. Chandler: Yes!
However, Jared hangs on to the top rope to cheers from the crowd. When Blaine turns around, he sees Jared “skinning the cat”, pulling himself over the top rope and back into the ring. But when Jared turns around, Blaine runs and clotheslines him over the top rope and to the floor. The crowd cheers.
Preston: Down goes Jared!
Roberts: Jared pulled himself over the top rope and back into the ring, but Blaine was waiting right for him with that clothesline.
Chandler: Instead of stalling in the ring, Blaine should go to the outside and kick the hell out of him.
Preston: I concur.
As Jared slowly gets up on the outside, Blaine runs into the ropes. When Jared turns around, Blaine nails him with a baseball slide, sending him stumbling into the barricade. As Jared slowly stumbles away from the barricade, Blaine gets up, grabs a hold of the top rope, and knocks him down with a springboard body press to the outside. The crowd cheers. Preston: Did you see that? He had a handful of tights!
Chandler: Sure did.
Roberts: He did not! If anyone cheats around here, it's The Harvard Connection.
Chandler: I don't think so. What about that Tomkins guy? He can't get a win without his father figure giftwrapping him a win.
Jared picks up Blaine and whips him into the ropes. When Blaine comes back, Jared knocks him down with a spinning heel kick. Blaine picks up Jared and throws him down with a scoop slam. He then points to the top rope. The crowd cheers. So Blaine steps through the ropes, makes his way along the apron and begins to climb the turnbuckles. But once Blaine is near the top, Jared runs into the corner, runs up to the second turnbuckle and unleashes a flurry of right hands to the midsection.
