ENTRANCE & ATTIRE
Entrance Music:
“Wild Thing” by X
Ring Attire:
Carruthers outfits himself with a pair of black wrestling boots accompanied by blank kick pads, black knee sleeves, and either black or white tape wrapped around his wrists. (At times, Wayne chooses to tape his fists as a way to convey aggression to fellow opponents.) Carruthers then wears a wrestling singlet in which most of it is black but accompanied by secondary and tertiary colors such as red, grey, blue, and yellow. Finally, Carruthers chooses to don himself in warm-up clothing by wearing black gym shorts and a screen-printed shirt emblazoned by his own design or logo. Although Carruthers removes the shirt and shorts on occasion, he frequently competes while wearing his warm-up garb.
Ring Entrance:
The signature guitar riff from X’s "Wild Thing" begins to play out of the venue’s sound system. Meanwhile, a fog of smoke covers the lower half of the stage before the drum beat enters the musical foray, which cues Wayne Carruthers to make his appearance onto the entrance platform. Welcomed with the audience singing along to his theme song, Carruthers struts away from the stage as the lights from the stage behind him pulsate in rhythm to the rock tune playing aloud. Finally making his way down to the ring, Caruthers climbs atop the apron before entering the squared circle where he shoots his arms out to the side as he clenches his hands into a fist and screaming aloud, much to the admiration of the crowd, before returning his arms nearby his waist.
CHARACTER BACKGROUND
Pic Base:
Kevin Steen
Gimmick:
An inexperienced, immature, and naive guy in his early-to-mid twenties barely starting out his in-ring career.
Bio:
Carruthers is the typical twenty-something-year old out of college and training from wrestling school, utilizing verbiage such as "totally" and "dude" and being fond of such things like playing video games or reading comic books, all the while struggling to find a balance between being himself while trying to be perceived as "cool" amongst his peers. Since he has just began his professional wrestling career as of February 2013, he is at times awkward or off-colored when speaking with a microphone in hand. In the ring, however, his unorthodox prowess of being quick for a man his size has him to be a fan favorite.
