Bio
Born in November 15, 1985 to Mr. and Mrs. Ronald James in Waterloo, Iowa, Jared James – born Adam James – moved with his family to Des Moines, Iowa at the age of three. It was here in Des Moines that Jared James would be molded into the man whom he would grow up to be, but oddly enough he never was exposed to wrestling. Not until the age of 17 years old was James, who at that point had already established himself as one of the top students – he would go on to be named valedictorian – of his class as well as a two sport athlete who played football and soccer – he played free safety and center backer respectively – and somebody who was gushing with potential. Yet as soon as Jared James saw the sport of professional wrestling, he knew that someday he wanted to be able to set foot in the squared circle.
Unfortunately for James his dream would not be realized until a few years later, as his parents ultimately persuaded him to attend the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa. At the University of Iowa James would go on to complete his degree in three years, graduating in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in English. But, even before James had graduated from school, he found himself inside a wrestling ring… have signed a contract with Connecticut Forum Wrestling in February of 2007. As soon as James signed this deal he would spend all of his weekends inside of a wrestling ring training, preparing himself for his debut with CFW. That would come on May 2, 2007 and from there a career was born.
Jared James would compete in CFW off and on for the next three years, but early on he vote success by winning the CFW Connecticut Heritage Championship – which he held for a record three months – and the CFW World Tag Team Championship, a title which he held with his cousin, Johnny Holliday. Throughout 2007 James was vastly improving his craft, and CFW President Todd Vickers took notice by awarding the rookie with an opportunity at the CFW World Heavyweight Champion Jonny V, a CFW Hall of Famer. Unfortunately for James, this was Jared James’s first taste at heart break… as he would go onto lose in the championship bout and his career would spiral and ultimate led to a yearlong plus sabbatical, until James made his return to the company in June of 2009 before sustaining an injury.
When James returned in February of 2010, his career would take off once more. Now 24, Jared James would go on to reclaim the CFW Connecticut Heritage Championship, only to lose it to a man with whom he would feud with for several months. That feud against The Messenger culminated in an Iron Man Match, which resulted in a victory for James and turned into the single biggest victory of James’s career.
Meanwhile James was also working at Simcoe County Championship Wrestling in Ontario, Canada and in Ring of Pride Wrestling in Texas. With those respective James would go on to win the SCCW All Barrie Provincial Championship and the Ring of Pride Tag Team Championship – once more with Johnny Holliday – respectively. His career would then again take an unexpected break, as James remain inactive from December of 2010 till December of 2011. During this time Jared James would go on to complete his juris doctorate degree at Fordham University in Manhattan, New York.
Then, in December of 2011 Jared James would return to wrestling with an upstart wrestling promotion known as FRONTIER Grappling Arts. It would be with FGA that Jared James saw himself nearly reach the apex of his career, making it all the way to finals of the “Chase for the Crown” tournament, where he would go onto lose versus Michael Tomkins. And just like that, much like he did after his loss to Jonny V in 2008, Jared James’s career would head into a tail spin that would ultimately result in him getting hurt.
James would return to FGA in July of 2012, where he would once again go on a hot streak only to lose to Chandler Scott for the FGA World Heavyweight Championship before – notice a trend – he would take a leave of absence.
Now 27 years of age and five years of experience under his belt, Jared James is hoping to embrace his past and learn from his mistakes as he looks to claim his first ever major championship in FRONTIER Grappling Arts.
