Source: wrestlingnews.net Evan Alexander Signing with FGA? According to reports, Evan Alexander has signed a future contract to Frontier Grappling Arts, setting him up to be a second generation member of the Alexander family to step foot into the ring. Evan's father, Jack Alexander, is currently wrestling in an upstart company on the west coast. A source close to the family also confirms this rumor.
Evan Alexander will be wrestling under the name Apollo Evans, the name he currently uses as his stage name with his band, 'Home, Home'. According to reports, Evan will not be touring with his band while his contract with FGA persists, instead, he will be focusing all of his time and energy on performing in the ring.
In the "why should I care?" department, Apollo Evans' father, Jack Alexander, was once considered to be a prodigy of wrestling during the pre-Attitude era, before flaming out spectacularly. (To be fair, Jack did make a decent comeback, before getting destroyed by FGA's own, Jonathan Collins in the UWL.) Whether or not Evan follows in his footsteps, is yet to be seen. However, sources close to the family say that Evan and his father have not spoken in years.
We do know that Apollo Evans has had some formal training, has toured (for a short time) with an independent Pittsburgh wrestling circuit, and definitely has some flare for the dramatic inside of the ring. We're going to file this as a "wait and see", hoping that this time, an Alexander actually lives up to their hype.
