FGA Heavyweight Championship Match
Ben Hanson is the Special Guest Ref
(c) Chandler Scott vs. A.J. Fairchild
"Let's See Action" by The Who starts playing throughout the arena until Roger Daltrey's vocal booms forth as Ben Hanson appears at the top of the aisle to cheers from the crowd. Ben poses with his right fist raised. Three seconds later he makes way down the aisle, slapping hands with the adoring fans.
Cruz: Ladies and gentlemen, the special guest referee for tonight's main event..... BEN HANSON!
Clement: There's been a lot of speculation about Ben's intentions tonight. But Ben has stated repeatedly that he's going to call this thing down the middle.
Grayson: And I don't believe that for a second. He's here to put the screws to Chandler Scott. Nothing more, nothing less.
"Fall" by M83 plays over the venue's sound system, and emerging from the back stage area is A.J. Fairchild. The fans are cheering excitedly as Fairchild takes his time walking down the entrance ramp. He makes his way down to the ring slowly, his eyes dead set on the ring.
The fans seated along the entrance ramp area, make the bowing down motion as A.J. strolls pass them. Nearing the end of the exit ramp, A.J. lifts a fist into the air, pumping it a couple of times before darting towards the ring apron. Hopping onto the ring apron, A.J. wipes his boots on the mat, and turns to look at all of the fans in attendance, with a small smirk on his face he grabs the ring ropes and lunges himself over and into the ring.
Clement: A.J. Fairchild looks focused. I've seen this man walking around all week. He knows what's at stake. This man has trained harder than he ever has. He feels that this is his night. We'll find out if it truly is.
Grayson: There's no taking away the physical abilities of A.J. Fairchild. But much like Jacques Mercier, it's AJ's focus that constantly gets him in trouble. If he can put it all together tonight, we may very well have a new champion. But I doubt it.
His music dying down, A.J. walks toward an empty corner and sits with his back propped up against the second rope, getting himself mentally prepared for his match.
The classic beginning notes of "Ride of the Valkyries" plays over the PA as the fans in attendance know who are about to grace them with their presence. Out through the curtain steps the Harvard Connection, along with Madison Stewart, to boos from the crowd. Chandler and Preston raise their arms in the air to continued boos. After being dissatisfied with the reaction they're getting, they make their way towards the ring. As they come down the aisle, they raise their index fingers in the air, letting everyone know who is truly number one. Chandler hops up onto the apron while Preston walks up the steps.
Clement: Chandler Scott feels like there's a conspiracy against him. He feels like Ben Hanson has been inserted into this match to screw him over. But he claims he's going to rise above it all and walk away with his championship.
Grayson: If anyone can overcome the numbers disadvantage, it's Chandler Scott. He's at the top of his game. There isn't a wrestler on this roster that is better than him in that ring. Besides, he's got Preston and Madison in his corner to even the nods.
After Preston wipes his feet off on the apron, the duo step into the ring. Chandler heads in one corner while Preston heads into the opposite one. Chandler climbs up onto the second turnbuckle. He stretches his arms out and tilts his head back. A big smile comes across his face as he closes his eyes, basking in his glory. On the other side of the ring, Preston climbs up onto the second turnbuckle and scans the crowd, looking down at the people below him in disgust.
Before the match is even underway, Ben points to both Preston and Madison and tells them both to go to the back. The crowd cheers as all three members of The Harvard Connection are irate.
Clement: Not for long as Ben just told both of them to go to the back.
Grayson: How unfair. It's bad enough that they've stacked the deck against Chandler. Now they're taking away his moral support.
Clement: Oh give me a break...
Preston and Madison reluctantly leave the ring. Chandler goes over and immediately gets in Hanson's face. Hanson just gives him a cocky smirk as Chandler's eyes widen. Hanson then turns his back to Chandler and heads towards the center of the ring.
Cruz: The following contest is scheduled for one fall. It is your main event of the evening and it is for the FGA Heavyweight Championship!
(Cheers and applause can be heard throughout the crowd.)
Cruz: Introducing first, the challenger. Now fighting out of Manhattan, New York.... weighing in at 190 pounds.... he is the 2012 New Frontiers Cup winner..... A................J.............. FAIRCHILD!
AJ raises his arms in the air to cheers and applause from the crowd.
Cruz: And his opponent, from Hyannis Port, Massachusetts.... weighing in at 255 pounds..... he is the reigning..... defending..... FGA Heavyweight Champion. Ladies and gentlemen................ CHANDLER SCOTT!
Chandler raises the FGA Championship over his head to a downpour of boos from the crowd. Hanson walks over to Chandler and asks for the belt. Chandler smiles and extends the belt. As Hanson goes to grab it, Chandler purposely drops it and tells him to “go fetch.” Hanson closes his eyes and inhales & deeply exhales, stopping himself from doing something stupid like attacking Chandler. Hanson picks up the belt, brings it towards the center of the ring and raises it for all to see. He then hands it off to Cruz on the outside before calling for the bell.....
The bell sounds as both men make their way to the center of the ring. After an intense staredown, Chandler begins to jaw at A.J. But Fairchild pays him no mind, instead choosing to stare a hole right through him. Ben Hanson then forces both men to step back. The two reluctantly do so before circling the ring. They then head back to the center of the ring and lock up. Chandler quickly uses his strength advantage to shove Fairchild into the ropes. The crowd boos as Chandler flexes his muscles.
Clement: Chandler starting things off early with the mind games.
Grayson: He's already under Ben's skin and now, he's trying to get under AJ's as well.
Once Chandler is done posing, Fairchild gets off the ropes and circles the ring. He heads back over to Chandler and locks up with him. But again, Chandler uses his strength advantage to shove Fairchild back. The crowd boos as Chandler now faces the crowd and begins to pose. Both Fairchild and Hanson look on with looks of shame and disgust written all over their faces.
Once Chandler is done posing, he turns around and motions for Fairchild to bring it. The two then begin to circle the ring. After inching closer to each other, they lunge forward and lock up. After jockeying for position, Chandler shoves Fairchild down to the canvas. The crowd boos as Chandler immediately goes over, gets in Hanson's face and flexes his bicep. Hanson tries to turn away, but Chandler keeps his arm held in Hanson's face. Hanson turns back to Chandler, giving him a cold stare before advising him to get back to the match. Chandler smirks before turning his attention back to Fairchild.
Clement: I can understand Chandler wanting to play mind games. But he needs to stay less focused on Ben Hanson and more focused on A.J. Fairchild.
Grayson: How can he not be focused on Hanson when his sole purpose here is to screw him?
The two circle the ring once more. They heads back towards the center to lock up. But Fairchild ducks the collar and elbow tie-up and applies a waistlock from behind. But Chandler quickly reaches back, grabs a hold of Fairchild and throws him down in front of him with a snapmare takeover. Fairchild quickly gets back up to his feet and turns around. He heads back over to Chandler and locks up. Chandler quickly places Fairchild in a side headlock. Fairchild tries to shove him off, but Chandler doesn't budge. After an elbow to the midsection, Fairchild tries to shove off Chandler but again, it's to no avail. Chandler then performs a standing switch, transitioning into a hammerlock from behind. The crowd boos as Chandler jerks the arm, sending a rush of pain throughout Fairchild's arm. Hanson asks Fairchild if he wants to quit. But AJ refuses to give up. Chandler then spins AJ around, only to clock him with a hard forearm strike to the face. He follows up by grabbing AJ's arm and delivering an arm wringer. The crowd boos as Chandler places AJ in a top wristlock. He then wrings the arm again. Hanson asks Fairchild if he wants to give up. But AJ refuses to quit. AJ then rolls forward, leans back, kips up and counters with an arm wringer of his own. The crowd cheers. He then places Chandler in a side headlock. Chandler someone slips out and counters with a hammerlock from behind. But AJ bends over and reverses into a hammerlock of his own. The crowd cheers as AJ repeatedly jerks the arm. Hanson asks Chandler if he wants to give up. But Chandler tells him to go to hell.
Grayson: I'm shocked Hanson didn't ring the bell as soon as Chandler was put into a submission.
Clement: That's because you and Chandler are the only ones who think that Hanson is out here to screw him.
Fairchild then spins Chandler around, only to throw him down with a side headlock takeover. Chandler quickly counters with a leg scissors headlock. But AJ is able to free himself with a kip up. As both men quickly get up, AJ applies a side headlock. But Chandler shoves AJ off of him and into the ropes. When AJ comes back, Chandler knocks him down with a running shoulderblock. He then turns to Hanson and poses before running into the ropes. AJ then quickly kips back up to his feet. When Chandler comes back, AJ leap frogs over him. Chandler continues to run into the ropes. When Chandler comes back, AJ knocks him down with a dropkick. The crowd cheers. Chandler gets up, but AJ throws him down with an arm drag. Chandler gets back up, but AJ throws him back down with an arm drag. As Chandler gets back up, AJ goes for anther dropkick. But Chandler side steps and swats him down to boos from the crowd. As Fairchild tries to get back up, Chandler runs over and knocks him down with a high knee lift. The crowd boos. Chandler then picks up AJ and whips him into the corner. Chandler charges into the corner, but AJ nails him with an elbow to the face. As Chandler stumbles away from the corner, AJ hoists himself up onto the second turnbuckle, jumps off and knocks him down with a spinning back elbow. The crowd cheers as he makes the cover.

Clement: A.J. Fairchild looking pretty good early on.
Grayson: Well he stopped trying to get into a test of strength with Chandler, something which he'd never win. He's using his speed advantage thus far. But all Chandler has to do is clock him real good, knock him down and keep him down.
AJ picks up Chandler and goes for an irish whip. But Chandler reverses, sending AJ into the ropes. When AJ comes back, Chandler goes for a tilt-a-whirl slam. But AJ counters with a headscissors takeover. The crowd cheers. As Chandler gets up, AJ runs over and connects with another dropkick, sending Chandler stumbling through the ropes and onto the apron. After Chandler pulls himself up on the apron using the ropes, AJ runs over, slides through Chandler's legs, lands on the outside, reaches up and yanks Chandler down from off the apron. Chandler's face smacks against the edge of the apron on the way down to cheers from the crowd. AJ then slides back into the ring and waits for Chandler. As Chandler begins to pull himself up using the edge of the apron, AJ runs into the ropes. When he comes back, he charges forward and connects with a baseball slide, knocking Chandler down. The crowd cheers. He then gets back up and waits for Chandler again. As Chandler begins to get up on the outside, AJ runs into the ropes. When he comes back, he charges forward and knocks Chandler down with a suicide dive to cheers from the crowd. AJ then picks up Chandler, rolls him into the ring, rolls himself back in and makes the cover.

After bringing Chandler from out of the corner, AJ goes for an irish whip. But Chandler reverses, sending him into the ropes. As AJ comes back, Chandler goes for a clothesline. AJ ducks the clothesline and tries to counter with a crucifix pin. But Chandler counters by falling back with a samoan drop. The crowd boos. He turns over and makes the cover.

Clement: Another two count by Chandler. But yet again, he makes time to taunt Ben Hanson. It's almost as if he's obsessed with the man.
Grayson: Well if my arch nemesis was referring my championship match, yeah, he'd probably be on my mind a lot, too.
Chandler picks up AJ and whips him into the ropes. When AJ comes back, he goes for a cross body block. But Chandler counters into a powerslam. The crowd boos. He then gets up, picks up AJ and lifts him up in the air. Chandler walks over directly in front of Hanson and begins to military press AJ over his head to boos from the crowd. He then drops AJ behind him without a care in the world before once again flexing in front of Hanson. The crowd boos. Hanson can be seen shaking his head in disgust.
Clement: You know how you're always harping on certain wrestlers to stop pandering to the crowd? Well Chandler needs to stop taking every chance he can to taunt and pose in front of Ben Hanson.
Grayson: He knows what he's going. It's all mind games. He's doing this because he wants Hanson to attack him.
As Chandler goes back over to pick up AJ, AJ nails him with a series of elbows to the midsection. He then stands up and nails Chandler with a right hand. And another..... and another.... and another.... and another. Each punches knocks Chandler closer and closer to the ropes. While Chandler is dazed, AJ runs into the ropes. When he comes back, he goes for a clothesline. But Chandler counters with an overhead belly to belly suplex, sending AJ flipping over the top rope and landing hard back-first to the floor. The thud from the landing can be heard throughout the building. AJ can then be seen arching his back in pain. Gasps can be heard, followed by boos.
Clement: AJ Fairchild just got flung over the top rope with that overhead belly to belly.
Grayson: Did you see air time AJ got on that? I'm surprised his back isn't broken. That was one hell of a hard landing.
Hanson goes to the outside to check up on AJ. But Chandler isn't about to give AJ any time to breathe. He heads to the outside to attack AJ. But Hanson turns around and stops him, telling him that he's not finished checking up on AJ. Growing impatient, Chandler intentionally shoves Hanson out of his way to boos from the crowd.
Clement: Chandler just shoved Ben Hanson out of the way!
Grayson: And why shouldn't he? Hanson was purposely buying time for AJ.
Clement: He was not!
Hanson gets up and balls up his fist, but soon looks down and sees the shirt that he's wearing. He reluctantly relaxes his hand.
Grayson: You saw that, right?
Meanwhile, Chandler goes over, steps over AJ and bends over, taunting him as he playfully slaps him across the face to boos from the crowd. He then picks up AJ, lifts him up off with a double leg pickup and then rams him back-first against the barricade. The crowd boos as AJ collapses to the canvas, holding his back in pain. But Chandler responds with a kick to the midsection, doubling him over. He then lifts up AJ into a bearhug position, turns and rams him back-first against the ring post. The crowd boos as Chandler careless tosses AJ to the side like a bag of trash. After rolling back into the ring, Chandler demands that Hanson start the 10 count. Hanson reluctantly does so.

As he tries to pull himself up onto the apron using the ropes, Chandler goes over, grabs him by the head and hoists him up. He then tries to suplex AJ back into the ring. But AJ slips back, jumps up and delivers a backstabber. The crowd cheers as Chandler holds his back in pain. But AJ holds his back in pain as well.
Clement: AJ takes down Chandler with the backcracker!
Grayson: yeah, but AJ landed back-first on the canvas. That move may have hurt AJ more than it dd Chandler.

Grayson: He's tired of getting screwed over by these Ben Hanson slow counts. Go ahead Chandler, kick him while he's down!
Chandler can be seen mouthing “that's it” before heading to the outside. He storms across ringside and tells Manny Cruz to get up. Once Cruz gets up from his seat, Chandler picks up the chair, folds it up and slides back into the ring. He then crouches down behind AJ and repeatedly hits the canvas with the chair, waiting impatiently for AJ to get up.
Clement: Not like this. Despite Chandler acting like a child, this has been a damn good match. It can't end like this. Don't let it end like this.
Grayson: By all means, clock Fairchild upside the head and end it like this.
As AJ slowly gets up, Chandler goes to nail him with the chair. But Hanson rips the chair out of Chandler's hands to a monster pop from the crowd.
Grayson: See! SEE!
Clement: Ben Hanson just stopped Chandler from taking the easy way out!

Clement: New champion! NEW CHAMPION! We've got a new champion!
"Fall" blasts over the PA to a monster pop from the crowd.
Cruz: Here is your winner...............and NEEEEEEEEEEEW FGA Heavyweight Champion....AJ FAIRCHILD!
Fairchild gets up and looks around in disbelief. He points to himself and asks if he won. Ben, smiling from ear to ear, nods. Fairchild then raises his arms in the air. After Ben hands him the championship belt, Fairchild drops down to his knees. He stares at the belt before kissing the center plate and hugging it for dear life.
Grayson: No, no, no....
Clement: He's done it! AJ Fairchild has done it! The long road that he traveled has finally led to this! A.J. Fairchild is the NEW FGA Heavyweight Champion!
Fairchild gets up to his feet as Hanson raises his arm in victory. The crowd cheers and begins to chant...
Crowd: AJ! AJ! AJ! AJ! AJ!
A groggy Chandler pushes himself up off the mat and tries to shake out the cobwebs. He then looks around and sees what's happening. Once it finally sinks in, he looks over at Hanson applauding Fairchild. His eyes widen with anger. Chandler then gets up and rushes at Hanson.
Clement: Wait, look out!
But Hanson side steps, grabs Chandler by the neck, runs and tosses him over the top rope and to the floor.
Hanson and AJ smile before he once again raises the championship belt over his head. He then steps through the ropes, climbing over the barricade and raises the FGA championship in the air as the fans in the first few rows swarm around him. AJ then turns back and raises his newly won championship belt up and down as the crowd chants his name......
Crowd: AJ! AJ! AJ! AJ! AJ!
