OOC: Since there isn't an AfterBurn thread up I decided to post my seg for it here.
Recorded Earlier
A few minutes after Flashpoint goes off the air James Edwards breaks through the curtain separating the Gorilla position from the entrance ramp. A powerful wall of noise accompanies him. The Burning Heart is drenched in sweat and has a black towel draped over his shoulders. He looks exhausted but is all smiles coming off a huge win.
Cameraman: James, how does it feel to pin the International Heavyweight Champion just a week before your showdown at Final Frontier?
James turns his head and tries to put on a serious face, but a grin remains etched on his face.
James Edwards: It feels damn good to be proven right. I said for months I had Chandler Scott beat the first time I drilled em’ with the Gospel and tonight I did it again, and there wasn’t a rope in sight to save his sorry ass. With that said, I wouldn’t be in that position without my teammates. They saved me when Kol had me on the ropes. A special thanks to Jimmy Page for sticking Chandler on his head and setting him up for the kill.
Cameraman: Do you think tonight’s win puts even more pressure on you to repeat in Madison Square Garden next weekend?
Edwards shakes his head.
James Edwards: Nah, tonight was a nice surprise and built some momentum for me, but like I told Amanda, tonight was about making sure Chandler paid up on the licks he owed me.
Cameraman: Is he paid up in full?
Edwards flashes a shit eating grin.
James Edwards: Hell nah, he still has more coming to em’ next weekend. We’ll be square when I hit him with the Gospel again and take his belt.
Cameraman: Why is that?
James Edwards: The way I see it, man, Chandler Scott doesn't have an ounce of respect for me. I'm the last guy he wants to lose the title too. He thinks he is gonna own me in the ring, even when I wrestled him to a draw on the canvas, which is supposed to be where he laps me big time. A hick like me putting his ass down in an arena the size of his ego is the biggest piece of crow he'll ever have to eat.
Edwards takes his towel and dries off his face.
James Edwards: Is that all you got, man, I really wanna take a bath.
The cameraman laughs.
Cameraman: Yep, have a good one, and good luck next week.
Edwards smiles and nods before making his way out of the picture.
