Saturday 25th July
All Star Showdown has finished and the FGA wrestlers have long since left the Brens Event Center, making their way back to their various hotels. One wrestler in particular, however, has a guest waiting for her outside of her hotel room.
“What are you doing here?” Camellia asks from a distance; her guest is sat down on the carpet, leaning back against the door frame, waiting for the redhead. Magna, dressed casually in her jeans and a gray blouse slows her pace as she approaches.
“Waiting for you,” The Crimson Baroness replies, lifting her gaze from off the cell phone as she speaks. She pushes her mousy brown hair away from in front of her eyes, standing up to meet Cami at the door. “I told you I’d like for us to have a talk. Congratulations on the win, by the way. I know what a handful Terrence can be.”
Camellia looks her guest up and down, trying to decipher whether or not she’s being sincere in her compliment; The Crimson Baroness has gained something of a reputation in her few short weeks down in LDFC, and it’s not a good reputation. Anyone there will say she puts in the work, but her behaviour towards the other students and one of the trainers in particular has caused some to ask questions. “If I recall correctly, you wished to discuss a private matter” Cami says as she unlocks her door before entering the room, flicking on the light switch as she goes.
The Baroness follows her in uninvited, closing the door behind her. “I think we share a certain mutual friend…” she says as she walks down the small hallway, past the bathroom on the left, and into the main atrium of the hotel room. Cami apparently spares no expense when it comes to travel. “...swanky room.”
“Thank you,” Cami replies with a shrug. She’s taken a seat on the edge of the bed, her hands resting behind her, legs crossed, staring up at The Crimson Baroness with a stern look on her face. Despite her best intentions, The Baroness still implied that Camellia slept around yesterday, and that doesn’t sit well with the FGA wrestler. “And who, may I ask, is this mutual friend?”
“Dom Harter.” The reply is blunt, spoken sharply as The Baroness tries to gauge Cami’s reaction. A wry smile creeps across Magna’s face as she remains silent for a moment longer.
“”Dommy is a dear friend,” Cami replies, “has been since just after we both started in FGA.”
“I think he’s more than that.” The Baroness accuses her, but Camellia laughs her off. “And I bet your nights together in Birmingham and Miami would confirm my suspicions.”
The smile wanes from Camellia’s face; those liaisons were secret, known only to Camellia and Dom; his friend Lacey also knew about the Miami night, but that’s mainly because they shacked up at her apartment, and in their booth at the club. “And how, exactly, do you know about those?” Camellia asks, breaking the silence.
“Like I said, he’s a friend.” comes the curt reply.
“That’s not a good enough explanation,” Cami blurts out, “how do you know about me and Dom?” The tone is both accusatory and defensive.
“Long story short…” starts The Crimson Baroness, only to be met by a shake of the head from Camellia. “...ok, full disclosure. He’s helping me with my training on the weekends, teaching me how to cut promos and all that other stuff that I kinda need - he knows my best friend, so he agreed to help me, which is why I agreed to join LDFC. But, one night we were in the hot tub having a few drinks, you know how he gets when he’s had a few drinks…”
Cami doesn’t look impressed.
“...well, maybe you know a different side of drunk Dom. Anyway, he was warning me about what he colourfully referred to as ‘shitting where you eat’.” The Baroness rolls her eyes as the crassness of the term. “And I asked him if he’d ever had a relationship in the workplace - and he told me about your night together in Birmingham. And the time you flew to Miami to see him. And, my only question to you, Cami, is how do you go from that...” she pause, “... to Seth Lawless?”
Drawing her spine straight, Cami looks haughtily at the other woman. “First, whatever may or may not have happened with Dommy is none of your business. Second, as I told you before, Seth and I are just friends. You do realize it is possible to be friends with myriad types of people, correct?”
“And I’d be willing to believe that if Seth hadn’t described you as hashtag fwb…” The Baroness sucks air in through gritted teeth, “...because that means one of you is lying to me.”
“Oh, you poor jealous soul,” Cami giggles quietly. “Seth and I enjoyed talking and spending time together. In fact, we even considered traveling together. The ‘benefits’ that he was alluding to were a private jet and accommodations such as you see here” Camellia states, gesturing to the room they are in.
“Well…” The Crimson Baroness starts before pausing, looking around the rather magnificent room. She’s had to pay for her own accommodation on this trip since neither Dom nor Annie could or would comp her, so her single bed room a few miles from here seems like crap compared to what Cami has. “...on the plus side you haven’t demeaned yourself by sleeping with Seth - no offense to him. On the down side, you’re probably not interested in my proposal…” she smiles a knowing smile, baring her pearly whites.
“Offense taken,” Cami grits out angrily. “Seth is a very sweet, kind man; I will not have you maligning any of my friends!” Closing her eyes briefly, Cami takes a deep breath, struggling to get her temper under control. “It was obviously important for you to speak with me. Unless it was only to make silly accusations, tell me what you wanted or please leave.”
The Crimson Baroness thinks carefully about what to say, biting her bottom lip nervously before speaking. “I’ve seen the way Dom looks at you, heard the way he speaks about you. That glint in his eye whenever your name is mentioned, he still likes you. And I suspect you feel the same way about him; I can make it so he’s available again, so you two can be together…” she pauses, “...if that’s something that would be of interest to you.”
For several moments, Camellia can only gape, open mouthed, at TCB. Shaking her head slightly, she is finally able to clear away her shock. “Bless your heart sweetie, but you have no clue what you are talking about. There is not, and never was, anything serious between Dom and I” Cami states, smiling as she recalls the past. “And, even if there had been, he is happily involved with his girlfriend. So whatever cockamamie scheme you have, the answer is no.”
“Sabrina…” the name is said with derision; The Baroness never really hated Sabrina before last weekend when she banished TCB from the house. That’s what she gets for falling for Annie’s little trap - another person who’s in TCB’s bad books right now, even if their relationship is on the way towards being mended. Sabrina on the other hand, she’s just a vindictive, jealous bitch who’s hated The Crimson Baroness since she first noticed her being playful towards Dom. “...he thinks he’s happy, but I have the feeling he’d be better off with someone such as yourself. Don’t tell me that doesn’t tempt you, Cami. The thought of falling asleep next to Dom Harter each night…”
“In a different world, maybe” Cami says, indulging the other woman’s curiosity. “But at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter what you or I think; only Dom and Sabrina. And I have no reason to believe they aren’t happy together.” Glancing sideways, Cami asks “I’ve never heard anything negative about Sabrina, why don’t you like her?”
“Mutual disdain,” The Crimson Baroness replies, shaking her head, “but she went and drove a wedge between me and my best friend. One of the only people I’ve ever felt close to, who I’ve known since I was twelve years old. And Sabrina thought nothing about pushing us apart, just because she thought I was interested in Dom…” she rolls her eyes, “...I made a promise to my friend that I wouldn’t fuck Dom, and I keep my promises. But that didn’t stop Sabrina from trying to ruin my friendships, so - and perhaps I’m being vindictive - but I thought I should repay the favor.” she says, holding her hand over the cell phone in her shorts pocket.
“I am sorry for you, I really am,” Camellia says sympathetically, “it is never easy when there is a rift between close friends. The best thing now would be to move on, to mend that rift. Sabrina loves Dom so yes, she may have been jealous if she thought there was something going on. But nothing, nothing gives you the right to interfere in their relationship. Fix your friendship, forget about Sabrina and move on with your life.” Cami bites her lower lip, wondering if she will actually take her advice.
“So you’re not willing to help me?” The Crimson Baroness asks, sullenly; her hand drifts upwards away from the cell phone as it seems less and less likely she’ll have to show Cami that video.
“No, I won’t help you hurt Dom. And,” Cami states bluntly, giving TCB a hard look, “I would suggest thinking twice before you do anything to him. Because if you do and I find out, he won’t be the only one you have to worry about.”
“Fine.” The Baroness replies, matter-of-factly. A sigh escapes her lips as she glances off to one side. “It’s your loss.” she whispers to herself as she heads towards the exit, slamming the door behind her like a petulant child. Back inside the room, Cami sighs, partly from relief that the situation is over, partly from exhaustion of having to deal with The Crimson Baroness. Now the only question on her mind is whether or not she should tell Dom about what just happened...
