The FGA camera comes to life inside the women's locker room, after the 3/28 taping, a nameless interviewer waits in the door to try to get word with Yun Goeun. She is the last female there, and has already changed back into her street cloths. But instead of leaving she is reclined on the bench bobbing her head to a rhythm only she can hear as she has on her usual oversized yellow headphones.
The interviewer is behind held out of the locker room by Yun's bodyguard, Joe Shamrock. He has his arm out preventing the smaller man from getting by him. The interviewer finally breaks down, "So, why can't I talk to her yet? I do have a job to do." the man says, but Shamrock does not budge.
"Post match ritual, just let her relax for a few then she'll answer anything you want to ask her." he says, removing his arm from the door and taking a seat on a near by locker bench. The interviewer kind of shrugs to him self, then sits down next to Shamrock, and watches Yun.
He would like to say he is not getting paid enough to do this, but in truth he really wasn't and no one knew who he was so it wasn't like he could be too picky. So he had to swallow his pride and wait for her to finish what ever it was she was doing. Deep in his mind he was hoping she would see him, and give way to an interview but he realized she was lost in her own world right now.
"How long does this go on for?" he asks Joe.
"Depends really, but she always closes on "Mr. Mr.", It will always be the last song she does, so it kind of gives you an idea of when she'll be finished..." he says, turning his attention to Yun to observe her for a moment to listen in on Yun singing in Korean.
<"Be stronger Mr. Mr.~ Look at me~ Mr. Mr.~ Yes You! You! You!~ You made my heart race Mr. Mr....~">
Yun sings in tune perfectly to the melody only she can hear, but one Joe has heard far too many times. He looks back at the interviewer and laughs, "She's almost done." but just as he says that, Yun stops singing for a few seconds. The interviewer makes right away to get up to go speak to her, but is stopped in his tracks by Shamrock.
"Not just yet."
He gestures towards Yun.
"One. Two. Three. Four." Yun starts to dance in her seat, her arms wailing around as she does. After a few minutes of the arm flailing she goes back to singing.
"Dance break." Shamrock says with a laugh.
"And you get paid to watch over this girl?" the interviewer asks a bit confused, as he watches Yun flail about in her seat. Shamrock scowls at him.
"I'm doing it for free..." he says a bit dejected, "Some days I wonder if it is worth it or not." he adds in under his breath, but the interviewer still heard it.
"She can't hear me right now, right?" the man asks, kind of waving his hand back and forth to see if Yun notices it. She does not.
"Nope, not with those headphones." Shamrock responds.
"I don't know her that well, just what I've seen on TV between a few federations, and tonight here in FGA. But she seems a bit... detached from reality. You seem like a smart guy, is the sex really worth putting up with her antics?" he asks. Joe Shamrock busts out laughing, not the response the guy was expecting.
"We're not together. She's more like a daughter to me, and after all we've been through over the last 12 years it just seems kind of in poor taste to leave her now. Honestly, my self as well as her friends just kind of let her do her thing because we realize this is honestly the first time she is getting to be her self. More to the point, the first time she is getting to be a kid. So better late than never."
"That is an interesting way to look at it, you must really care..." the interviewer starts to say, but he is cut off by Shamrock clearing his throat. The interviewer turns to see Yun Goeun taking her headphones off.
"Oh hi!" she says as she see the interviewer, "Are you here to talk to me?" Yun asks looking around the locker room to realize she is by her self. "Oh hey, you are! Hi." she says as she rushes up to him with a smile. The interviewer glances over to Shamrock then back to Yun.
"Yeah, I was just wondering if I could get some words from you on your debut in FGA? How did you feel out there? How did you feel about your debut, despite the outcome?" he asks her. Yun chuckles to her self.
"I felt great out there, I still do. Even with the outcome. Sure, I lost but I have a lot to take away from the match. I know it is very rah-rah of me, but I am still very new to this business, so I feel anytime I get in the ring I can take something away from it. Johnny Karma was a great opponent and I hope to face him again someday down the road. He beat me, yes and I am not trying to sound like one of "those" people but he never pinned me, he never made me give up.
I got back to my feet as best I could, every single time I was knocked down. I never gave up the fight, and I just was a bit slow getting back to my feet. I have nothing to be ashamed of, I got to get back into the ring and do what I love and more than anything that was a big win for me. Win or loss, my night was a success.
And maybe it is a bit foolish of me to say, but I have no where left to go but up now. I've said it time and time again, but I will never stop fighting for my dream, and I think I proved that to the FGA Crowd tonight. I would really just like to say THANK YOU to everyone who cheered me on. It means a lot to me!"
"Thank you very much Yun, good luck on your future in FGA! We hope it will be a bright one." the interviewer says to her as he lowers the mic from in front of her.
"Thank you very much." Yun says bowing to him as the FGA feed cuts out.

Sometime in March
Yun had spent the better part of the last few months back in Seoul, but had decided to move back to America now that she was given a clean bill of health and was serious about getting back into the wrestling ring. She had set up in an apartment in New York City and was enjoying the sites the city had to offer. On this night, she was walking home with Shamrock from a live wrestling event a few blocks from her apartment. She was excited to see some wrestling again, and it made her realize how much she missed it. Was not something she found easily in Seoul.
The two were talking about the matches as they walked home, when they passed a 24/7 store about a block from their house. Yun grabbed Shamrock by the arm and stopped him. "I need coffee." she said to him, looking at him with a slight smile, her eyes squinted slightly closed.
"I'll get it for you, if you stop doing that damn eye-smile." he gripes, and walks into the store. Yun smiles to her self in victory and goes to lean up on the building while she waits. Just as she leans up against the wall a guy comes up to her.
"Do you have a cigarette?" he asks.
"Sorry, I don't smoke." she says to him.
"That's fine, I'll take all your money so I can go buy some of my own." he says, pulling a knife out of his jacket for her to see. Yun let out a loud sigh. She was being robbed. Mugged? She didn't even know the right word for this, but for some reason she felt... happy.
In Seoul people would run up to her, asking for autographs. It was very rare to run into someone who had no clue who she was. While living in Philly, she started to get so popular through PDW that it was harder and harder to blend in with a crowd. Sure, it was never as bad as Seoul, but almost three or four times a week she would be stopped by a fan... So on one hand, she was kind of happy to find someone who had no clue who she was. She second guessed this for a second, should that really be the emotion to rush into your mind first in this situation? The second emotion then hit, annoyance. So her mind went from all nonsensical thinking, to thinking about the best way to get out of this situation.
She was about to execute her plan of attack, when a second guy came up from behind her and put his arm around her shoulder. "You wouldn't want to do anything stupid, lady. Just give him your money." Yun jerks out of the guys grip for a split second, as he tightens it on her.
"Easy, bitch. Just give up the money, we don't want to hurt you." he says into her ear.
She really WAS being robbed. She really could not tell you why she was so happy. Deep down she always wanted to be treated like a normal person and while this was a bit extreme, it was something that would never happen to her in Seoul. Fuck, it was a life experience... Shit Yun, maybe you are crazy? She thought.
"...I am afraid I can not give you my money." she says.
"This isn't a negotiation. Just fucking give it up." the guy with the knife shouts.
"Excuse me, but I think you guys are bothering the lady." Joe Shamrock says as he steps out of the store and right away sees Yun pinned down by the two guys. The guy with the knife spins around startled. When he face Joe he holds the knife up, with both hands.
"Fuck off, old man. This is between us and the lady. Besides, you don't look like you have money. Scam, pops." the second guy says, as the first guy just brandishes the knife at him.
"And she looks like SHE has money?" Shamrock retorts, with a laugh.
"More than you, pops." the second guy barks out. "Look at this necklace, this is worth something, look at those bracelets." as he says this he tugs at Yun's necklace, she smacks his hand away from it causing him to tighten his grip again.
"You got me there... Here, how about you take her necklace, those bracelets, and what is in my wallet, you'll find 300$ in it, and just leave the girl alone. That is more than you would have gotten holding up this store and odds are any one else tonight. I know the game, that would be a good score..." he says to the guy, as he takes a sip of Yun's coffee, ignoring the glare she is giving him.
"Don't be a hero, pops. Lets see the cash first..." the guy with the knife says. "Get it slowly."
Shamrock puts up his free hand as he bends down slowly to put the coffee on the ground. As it is on the ground he stands back up and slowly goes into his rear pocket and pulls out his wallet and shows it to the two guys.
"Hand it to him!" the guy holding Yun says, as the guy with the knife releases one hand from it and goes to grab the wallet from Shamrock.
Just as he goes to grab the wallet though, Shamrock thrusts the hand grasping the wallet quickly into the knife guys throat, causing him to drop the knife. Shamrock follows up with a spinning heel kick, connecting with the skull of the guy, sending him staggering hard into the side of the store before falling to the ground. Just as he hits the ground, Shamrock punts the cup of coffee at the guy, splashing the red hot liquid into his face. No sound comes from the guy though, having been knocked out by the kick to the head.
This whole motion took place in less than a few seconds, leaving the other guy shocked and stunned, he goes to tighten his hold on Yun but before he can Shamrock's fist whizzes by Yun's right cheek and hits the guy holding her, he staggers back from the blow releasing his grip on her. Shamrock rushes past her and shoulder tackles the guy, driving him into and through a sign for the store behind him. The guy fumbles through the wreckage trying to get back to his feet when Shamrock stomps on the back of his skull, smashing it into the pavement hard.
And just like that is was over. Yun looked from the guy in front of her, then to the guy behind her, both of which were not moving. "The curb stomp was a little much..." she said, a bit amused though, "But I am going to give you extra points for the coffee in the face. That was style."
Shamrock picks up his fallen wallet just as the clerk comes out of the store, "I just called 911, you guys alright?" he says, shaky.
"Yeah, I'm fine." Yun says, "I got fucking coffee on my pants though, I LIKE these pants, I'm revoking the style points, Joe." she says, leaving the clerk looking confused.
"Too much force in the kick, sorry. Yeah, I'm fine. I don't think these guys are though." Shamrock says with a sight grin as he dusts him self off. For an older man he still quote "had it" and it made him happy when he was able to prove it to himself. Though he wish Yun would not have been involved.
"I've never seen anything like that before, Sir. Before I knew it both of those guys were on the ground, it was like something out of an action movie..." the clerk starts to say to Shamrock, feeding his ego.
Yun could hear sirens wailing in the distance, as she looked from the guy with the knife, to the guy who got curb stomped. She noticed he was still conscious so she walked over to him and bent down next to him with a smile.
"You see, I get asked ALL THE TIME why I STILL have a bodyguard. Oh by the way, the guy who just knocked out..." Yun looks around on the pavement for a second "Three of your teeth, is my bodyguard. So, I really want to know, do YOU wonder why I have a bodyguard? Hey better yet, could I get your name so I can have people CALL YOU when they ask me "Yun, why do you have a bodyguard?" - No? Oh you are in too much pain to talk, it is fine. I'll ask you later..." She says with a smile, as she gets back to her feet, just as one squad car pulls up...
~~~~~~~~~~
"Okay, so who do I have this time?" Yun asks, as she plops down onto her couch after a long day of working out and training. She knew while she was gone the new card for FGA had come out and she knew full well Shamrock would have looked the second it went up.
"I don't know." he says, sitting at his computer, he does not turn his attention to her and instead stays looking at his computer.
"Oh come on, I know you know." she snaps at him, throwing the pillow next to her at him. It plinks off his back with out him so much as flinching.
"No, I really don't know. It says 'David Feare" and I can't get anything on him save for what is on the website's roster page. Which is basically a picture of him, height, weight and he seems to be even newer to the ring than you. Outside of that, there is no concrete info on his background, no past matches from other promotions, like... nothing. So, I am trying to do some digging, but seriously I have nothing for you." he says, turning to her now.
"I've been in that position before though, I have faith in my training." she says to him, getting up to come look at the picture on the website. She eye the bio below the picture and chuckles to her self.
"Something funny?" he responds, turning to look at the page again.
"Yeah, I've been EXACTLY in this position before. It is Zack Lifer 2.0. I mean look at this shit. I've heard all of this clouded in mysterious past crap before, and it is Zack Lifer. I don't really remember liking Zack Lifer, so I think I am going to like this guy even less." she says, clicking on the X to close the page.
"He is going to try to get into my mind, just like Lifer. He is going to try to unnerve me by telling me what he is going to do to me, like Lifer. Get me scared, freak me out so I don't want to get into the ring. I think I am more than prepared for this game, I've played it before. I am fine admitting people like this scare me, but not enough to scare me away from the ring.... Nothing is going to scare me away from my dream, even if it means I have to endure more pain than I would like."
"You think you are over looking this guy because he REMINDS you of someone?" Shamrock asks her, looking back to his computer, trying to pull the page she just closed back up.
"No, I never overestimate anyone, I go in to that ring every single time expecting the fight of my life. You know this. I am going to go into the ring expecting the very best from my opponent because they can expect the same from me. I don't care how much or little I know about my opponent before I go into the ring with them. I don't care what they are going to attempt to say to get under my skin, I am going in focused, clear headed, and I am going in fighting." She starts to say something but gets cut off.
"Are you really about to "hwaiting" me?" Shamrock asks her, looking at her with a slight smile.
"No, I so was not about to say that... I was going to..." she looks a bit flustered.
"Aja! Aja!?" he asks.
"Fuck you. I'm going to my room." Yun storms off from the living room, and down the rear hallway leading to the bedrooms. From off camera, and very faint you can hear Yun yell "YUN GOEUN! HWAITING!" followed by the sounds of her door slamming shut.
The interviewer is behind held out of the locker room by Yun's bodyguard, Joe Shamrock. He has his arm out preventing the smaller man from getting by him. The interviewer finally breaks down, "So, why can't I talk to her yet? I do have a job to do." the man says, but Shamrock does not budge.
"No, I never overestimate anyone, I go in to that ring every single time expecting the fight of my life. You know this. I am going to go into the ring expecting the very best from my opponent because they can expect the same from me. I don't care how much or little I know about my opponent before I go into the ring with them. I don't care what they are going to attempt to say to get under my skin, I am going in focused, clear headed, and I am going in fighting." She starts to say something but gets cut off.
"Are you really about to "hwaiting" me?" Shamrock asks her, looking at her with a slight smile.
"No, I so was not about to say that... I was going to..." she looks a bit flustered.
"Aja! Aja!?" he asks.
"Fuck you. I'm going to my room." Yun storms off from the living room, and down the rear hallway leading to the bedrooms. From off camera, and very faint you can hear Yun yell "YUN GOEUN! HWAITING!" followed by the sounds of her door slamming shut.
