We fade up to see Johnny Blayze sitting in a dark room facing the camera. A low-light hangs overhead, illuminated from a single lightbulb. He's wearing a black t-shirt and his facial hair (goatee) sharpens the contours of his face. The light swings overhead, dancing light over Blayze's face as it passes back and forth.
Blayze: Alexia Brandt…you and the rest of the FGA can be angry with me all you want for what I did to you and to poor Xavier Daniels. But the truth of the matter is this…
Anger isn't the reaction I'm after.
Blayze smirks as he continues to speak.
Blayze: For you see…I've embraced a side of myself that few even acknowledge exists. A dark, black side. Over the years, I've seen others who possess this darkness. Some stronger than others. But they all had something that went deeper than anything physical or emotional. And watching them….I learned a valuable lesson in life.
Morality is just an artificial construct. It is, admittedly, necessary for society to exist and for civilization to prosper. But even in the most civilized of nations, murder and torture flourish. One's inhumanity to his fellow man…or woman… isn't the mark of a backwards society.
Oh no no…it's merely the pinnacle of what society has to offer those who are superior.
Those like me.
Blayze gets closer to the camera.
Blayze: Some people are meant to hunt and kill others for their amusement. Alexia…you've been doing it your whole career. But you always stop yourself once you get to the fun part.
But no more. I'm here to show you how to fully embrace the inner predator.
You're lost, Alexia. Lost and you don't even realize it. I was lost once as well and even AFTER I embraced my true self, I still needed direction.
I took the time and I learned a lot from watching others. Others like Jonathan Collins. Like Jack Nomad. Like Elijah Black. I studied them all. I cherry-picked the things that worked, and then, as you have seen, improved upon them ten-fold. Hunters tend to have short attention spans and monovision. But lately, I've looked at things on a large-scale. I don't mind delaying gratification for a while if it means a bigger payoff.
A chuckle erupts.
Blayze: You can say I'm batshit nuts or a show-pony like that fool, Xavier Daniels, put it. Once upon a time, I would've seen my actions as the same. But something helped me see the light.
He smiles and it's an ugly thing to see.
Blayze: Pain. I've seen it for it's true nature. It's cleansing. It's clarifying. It's pure; stripping away everything in its path.
Dignity. Morality. Pain allowed me to be born again, to become truly free.
Blayze's voice lowers.
Blayze: And it will do the same for you, Alexia Brandt. It's just a question of how badly and how long I'll have to hurt you to make it happen.
When I said something helped me see the light, it was The Murder that I was referring to. They may not understand it and to be honest, I didn't either at the time but my time spent under their thumb week in and week out changed me forever. I was just like you. Holding back the darkness inside of me. And if you just open yourself up to the possibility that you have NO idea how depraved you truly can be…. you will go far in this life.
A scowl grows across the face of Johnny Blayze
Blayze: Now you can count on the possibility of death to get you through this…and you could not be more wrong. You will never die, Alexia. Though you WILL wish for it. In fact, your desire for death will become all-consuming. But it's not the dying that will bring about the change in you.
No no no….for Alexia, you're like a horse. Wild and untamed. Full of potential. But you're not broken. I have to tear you down to nothing and rebuild you back up. Your strength, what I admire about you, what grabbed my attention in the first place…it WILL endure. It will become even harder. Your weakness and failings…they will be utterly annihilated.
If it takes days, that's okay.
If it takes weeks…months…doesn't matter. I now know my purpose and I've got all the time in the world to pursue it.
Blayze stares into the camera as he continues to speak.
Blayze: We all have breaking points. The faster you accept that, the easier this all will be. And when you come out on the other end of this, for the first time, you WILL know true joy.
I've seen you and you're miserable. You despise yourself. Your relationships in life….why I bet they are all unhealthy. Your friends and family are always getting hurt or dying, aren't they. You ever wonder why so many people around you get hurt? It must be because YOU want it to happen.
So tell me something, Alexia….when do you feel most alive? Most vibrant? Most worthy? Isn't it when you're faced with an opponent like me? Closing in on the kill? That's why you became a wrestler in the first place, isn't it?
You're bending to the constraints and confines of a society in which you're an alpha predator and you need to break free of that.
Don't you want to be happy for once? To sleep peacefully rather than toss and turn all night?
You have a will, Alexia Brandt…I've seen it firsthand…and the sooner you learn to follow it, the sooner you'll reach perfection.
But enough talk. Let's get started.
He gets up from the chair and moves the camera so we see that the entire time he's been talking across a table to a mannequin with Alexia Brandt's picture taped over the head. A weird smile creeps across his face as we fade to black.
