FGA UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP
© Sparrow vs. Logan Alexander
© Sparrow vs. Logan Alexander
Without any music or fanfare, Logan strides out from the entryway, dressed to compete, with Theodore Harris walking along beside and half a step behind him. Logan’s gaze remains locked on the ring while Theodore looks around the arena and at the assembled crowd as they walk down the entry ramp to the ringside area.
J.A. Aldridge: The following contest, scheduled for one fall, is for the FGA United States Championship! Introducing first, the challenger! Hailing from Toronto, Ontario, Canada! Weighing in at 227 pounds! He is “The Quiet One”... LOGAN ALEXANDER!
Logan leads the way over to the nearest set of ringsteps, climbs up them to the ring apron and then into the ring. Theodore meanwhile walks around the ring towards the opposite corner of the ring with the other set of ringsteps.
Kris Cruise: This professional rivalry between Logan Alexander and Sparrow goes back some time now. There have been multiple Battle Royals and Gold Rush Rumbles where Logan has found himself eliminated at the hands of Sparrow. We've also seen Sparrow lose the Legacy Championship to Alexander in a match that also involved Mark Bisley. These two are looking to finally settle this once and for all. No third parties involved. No asterisk. Just two of the best settling things in the ring, like it should be.
Logan walks across the ring to the opposite corner, turns around and leans back against the turnbuckles, draping his arms on the top rope on either side of him. Theodore climbs up the ringsteps behind Logan, stepping onto the ring apron behind him. He leans in close, talking softly to Logan, who merely nods slightly in response to whatever is being said.
Theodore then steps back and descends the stairs back to the ringside mats. Logan fixes his gaze on the entryway, waiting for his opponent’s arrival.
“Oh give the drummer some, yeah yeah! (Yah!)
Oh give the drummer some, yeah yeah! (Uh!)
Oh give the drummer some, yeah yeah! (Rah!)
Oh give the drummer some, yeah yeah! (Drop it.)"
Oh give the drummer some, yeah yeah! (Uh!)
Oh give the drummer some, yeah yeah! (Rah!)
Oh give the drummer some, yeah yeah! (Drop it.)"
From the entrance to the ring, Sparrow appears through the curtain, his championship wrapped around his waist. The West Indian Whirlwind begins high-fiving fans on his way down the ramp. He gets to the outside of the ring as “Gold Watch” continues playing before he jumps and lands on the apron.
A second jump sees The West Indian Whirlwind clear the ring ropes before throwing his hat into the audience. Impressively, the championship remained on his waist! Sparrow then takes off for the farthest side of the ring. He springs onto the second rope, executing a backflip and lands on his feet in the middle of the squared circle. He does a sliding motion on his heel before turning and striking a Rock Lee pose to the cheers of the crowd.
J.A. Aldridge: His opponent, haling from South Oropouche, Trinidad! Weighing in at 205 pounds! He is one half of the reigning FGA World Tag Team Champions, as well as the reigning… defending… FGA United States Champion! He is “The West Indian Whirlwind”... SPARROW!
“Got my, gold watch and my, gold chain,
With my, fancy car and my diamond ring!
With my fancy broad and she foreign!
So its, no words and its, no slang, and I'm no trick and I'm no lame.
Its just so slick that she's so game, and its...
Yea, yea she love it over here. Its just yea, yea she love it over here!”

Sparrow leans up against his corner, holding out the championship to the referee after removing it from his person. After some discourse with the announcer and ref, the West Indian Whirlwind is ready to go.
The bell sounds as both Alexander and Sparrow make their way towards the center of the ring. After exchanging some words, both grapplers are met with applause when they shake hands.
Kris Cruise: We’re about to get things underway in this championship match.
Stephy Auger: I know Sparrow claims that he’s focused on the task at hand here tonight. But I don’t quite believe him, Cruise. He’s clearly still hot over what happened with Silk & Cyanide last show. We even saw him and TJ try to go after the rightful Tag Team Champs earlier tonight.
Kris Cruise: Rightful? They’ve yet to beat Def Before Dishonor inside the ring for the titles. That’s where it counts, Stephy. Stealing the championships don’t make them champions.
Both grapplers step back before circling the ring. They then head back towards the center and lock up. After jockeying for position, Sparrow gains the advantage with a side headlock. Alexander tries to push him off, but it’s to no avail. Seconds later, Alexander finds himself on the receiving end of a side headlock takeover. Alexander doesn't stay on the wrong side of the action for long as Alexander reverses into a grounded headscissors. Seconds later, Sparrow escapes with a kip up. Alexander then scrambles back to a vertical base before Sparrow brings him back down with another side headlock takeover. Alexander quickly reverses into another grounded headscissors before Sparrow escapes with a kip up. After Alexander rushes back to a vertical base, Sparrow brings him back down with a third side headlock takeover.

Kris Cruise: Quick nearfall there by the champion.
Both grapplers return to a vertical base before Sparrow goes for an irish whip. Alexander quickly reverses, sending the champion into the ropes. When Sparrow returns, Alexander goes for a hip toss. Sparrow steps through it and goes for a hip toss of his own. Alexander steps through it and goes for another hip toss. Sparrow blocks it. Alexander tries to muscle him up for another hip toss. Again, Sparrow blocks it. He then doubles Alexander over with a shot to the gut, drapes his leg across the back of Alexander’s neck and executes a back flip. As soon as Sparrow lands on his feet, Alexander throws out a clothesline. Sparrow ducks and hits the ropes. When Sparrow returns, he brings Alexander down with a running hurricanrana. The cheers continue as Alexander gets back to his feet, turns and gets sent through the ropes to the floor with a front dropkick!
Kris Cruise: The challenger gets sent to the outside!
Sparrow steps out to the apron and starts to wave Alexander up. Once Alexander gets back to his feet, the crowd cheers as Sparrow runs along the apron, leaps off and brings him down with a diving hurricanrana!
Kris Cruise: Sparrow brings him down again!
Stephy Auger: There’s no world in which Alexander can match Sparrow’s speed and agility. He’s got to swat him out of the air and keep him down if he wants to win that United States Championship.
Sparrow takes Alexander and whips him down the aisle into the guardrail. After sizing up the challenger, The West Indian Whirlwind charges down ringside and delivers a jumping sidekick, sending them both tumbling over the rail into the crowd!
Kris Cruise: Oh my!
The cheers continue as Sparrow dumps Alexander over the guardrail back to ringside. The champion then slingshots himself over the rail before picking up Alexander and rolling him back inside. Sparrow leaps back to the apron before getting back into the ring with a slingshot leg drop. He turns over into a lateral press.

Sparrow brings the action into the corner and catches Alexander with multiple knife edge chops. After hitting the challenger with multiple corner chest kicks, Sparrow whips him into the far corner. Sparrow runs across the ring to attack, but Alexander knocks him back with a back elbow to the face. Sparrow shakes off the blow before charging back in. This time, Alexander tuns him around with a boot to the face. Sparrow staggers away from the corner. As soon as he shakes off the blow and turns around, Alexander runs out of the corner and knocks him off his feet with a lariat takedown. The cheers continue as he makes the cover.

Kris Cruise: Logan gets his first pinfall attempt on the night. I’ve got to agree with you, Stephy. Logan can’t keep up with Sparrow in the speed department, so he has to slow the action down.
Alexander sets up for an irish whip when Sparrow reverses. Alexander returns off the rebound and sees Sparrow setting up for a back body drop, so he stops and counters with a swinging neckbreaker. He makes the cover.

Kris Cruise: Another good counter there by Alexander.
Stephy Auger: Yes, but now he needs to keep Sparrow right where he is. Don’t let him get back to his feet.
Alexander sends Sparrow into the far ropes with an irish whip. When Sparrow returns, he slides through Alexander’s legs. Sparrow pops back to his feet and throws out a spinning wheel kick, only for Alexander to counter with a dragon screw leg whip!
Kris Cruise: Another good counter by the challenger.
Stephy Auger: Yes, and he went after the leg, too. Now he needs to work it over. Sparrow’s speed will be cut in half if he ends up getting a bum wheel.
Alexander pulls Sparrow back to his feet, delivers a shinbreaker and quickly follows up with another dragon screw leg whip. Alexander continues to target the leg, delivering three elbow drops across it. Seconds later, the crowd grows concerned when they see Alexander setting up for the Dying Echo (Sharpshooter)!
Kris Cruise: Alexander’s trying to turn him over!
Before Alexander can turn Sparrow over, Sparrow uses the strength in his legs to shove Alexander down to the mat. The West Indian Whirlwind scrambles back to a vertical base, but Alexander is right there to bring him back down with a basement dropkick to the leg.
Kris Cruise: The crowd didn’t take too kindly to that one.
Stephy Auger: Who cares what they think? The crowd won’t win you a championship, but playing up to them will definitely cost you one.
Alexander takes control of Sparrow’s leg again. This time, he tries setting up for a Figure Four. As soon as Alexander turns around, Sparrow uses his free leg to push Alexander off him and into the corner. Sparrow then gets back to his feet, turns around and gets tackled down to the mat with a spear! Alexander makes the cover.

Alexander picks Sparrow up, scoops him up from the side and delivers a pendulum backbreaker. After dragging Sparrow across the ring, Alexander drapes his leg across the bottom rope. Alexander then goes for a slingshot seated senton off the middle rope, but Sparrow uses his free leg to push Alexander up over the top rope to the floor!
Kris Cruise: Sparrow reversed it!
Alexander turns over on all fours on the outside. Back in the ring, Sparrow turns over to a knee before returning to a vertical base. After massaging his leg, he tries to run as best he can into the far ropes. Sparrow returns off the ropes, runs back across the ring, hurls himself over the top rope and takes out Alexander with Air Sparrow (Fosbury Flop)!
NO!
Alexander rolls back into the ring, causing Sparrow to crash and burn on the outside!
Kris Cruise: OH NO!
Stephy Auger: What was he thinking? Alexander was already working over the leg. What did he think was going to happen?
Alexander rolls back to the outside, pulls Sparrow up and brings him back down to the floor with a flapjack. Sparrow gets rolled back inside before Alexander slides back in. He then drags Sparrow away from the ropes before making the cover.

Kris Cruise: Smart move by the champion to drag Sparrow away from the ropes and use more energy to kickout.
Alexander doubles Sparrow over with an inverted atomic drop before bringing him down with a russian leg sweep. Sparrow gets pulled back to his feet before getting brought back down with a backdrop suplex. Alexander then heads into the corner, climbs up to the middle ropes and connects with a pointed elbow drop off the middle rope.

Sparrow gets his foot up in time, catching Alexander in the face on the way down.

Alexander lands on his feet and catches Sparrow’s foot on the way down! Sparrow tries to wrestle his leg away from him, but Alexander overpowers him and drags him towards the center of the ring. He then uses his free leg to try and kick Alexander off of him, but Alexander wrestles control of the second leg before turning him over into the Dying Echo!
Kris Cruise: Alexander’s got it locked in!
Stephy Auger: Oh, it’s over now. We’re about to have a new champion!
The crowd grows uneasy as they see Sparrow writhing in pain. The official quickly gets down and asks Sparrow if he wants to give up. Sparrow refuses. So Alexander pulls back on the leg, increasing the pressure of the hold.
Kris Cruise: Sparrow’s really feeling it now!
Stephy Auger: Will he try and fight his way out of this? Or will he do the smart thing and quit while he’s already behind?
Sparrow continues to yell out in pain while trapped in the hold. The referee asks him again if he wants to give up. Sparrow refuses. The crowd starts to rally behind the United States Champion with chants of…
“PLEASE DON’T TAP!”
“PLEASE DON’T TAP!”
“PLEASE DON’T TAP!”
“PLEASE DON’T TAP!”
“PLEASE DON’T TAP!”
Stephy Auger: Don’t listen to these people, Sparrow! Listening to them will get you hurt! Just give up!
Sparrow slowly starts to push himself up on his hands. The crowd cheers as he starts to reach forward. Alexander starts to shake his head in disbelief as Sparrow continues to make his way towards the side of the ring. Theodore Harris can be seen on the outside instructing Alexander to not let Sparrow get to the ropes. But it’s too late. Sparrow is met with cheers and applause when he reaches out and grabs the bottom rope!
Ref: ONE… TWO… THREE… FOUR…
Alexander breaks the hold. He then takes Sparrow, tosses him through the ropes to the apron and then pulls him across the middle rope before planting him with Dead Air (Draping DDT version)! He makes the cover.

Sparrow gets his foot on the bottom rope.
Kris Cruise: Good ring awareness there by the champion.
Alexander pulls Sparrow back to his feet before immediately taking control of his back. Sparrow knows what’s coming, so he quickly rushes forward and wraps his arms around the top rope. But it’s to no avail. Alexander is able to yank him off the ropes before bringing him down with A Long Pause (multiple rolling German Suplexes)! Alexander goes for a fifth German when Sparrow catches him with three back elbows to the face. He then quickly performs a standing switch before throwing Alexander into the corner with a German Suplex into the turnbuckles!
Kris Cruise: What a counter from the champion! He’s got the challenger down!
Stephy Auger: Get up, Logan! Get! Up!
Harris heads over towards the corner and repeatedly slams down on the apron while Alexander tries to shake out the cobwebs. A couple of feet in font of them is Sparrow, who slowly turns over onto all fours.
Kris Cruise: Which of these two men will get back to their feet first? It’s anyone’s match now!
After shaking off the effects of the suplex, Alexander slowly reaches up, grabs onto the top rope and pulls himself back to his feet. Him returning to a vertical base is perfectly timed with Sparrow getting back to his feet. Alexander runs out of the corner to attack, but Sparrow knocks him off his feet with a leg lariat. The cheers continue as Sparrow sends him flipping back down to the mat with a step-up enzuigiri. After Alexander scrambles back to his feet, Sparrow knocks him back with the Leaf Hurricane (Counter Scorpion Kick followed by a Pele Kick)!
NO!
Sparrow goes to connect with the Pele Kick, but Alexander catches the leg and counters into a standing ankle lock!
Kris Cruise: Sparrow got caught!
Stephy Auger: Break it, Logan! Snap it!
Sparrow yells out in pain while Alexander cranks way at the ankle. The ref asks Sparrow if he wants to give up. The champion refuses. He then rolls forward, sending Alexander stumbling face-first into the top turnbuckle! Alexander stumbles back, only for Sparrow to connect with a front dropkick to the back, sending him flying face-first into the middle turnbuckle! The cheers continue as Sparrow heads back into the corner before planting him with a Tornado DDT! He makes the cover.

Sparrow goes for an irish whip, only for Alexander to reverse. When Sparrow returns, he goes for a wheelbarrow bulldog. Alexander blocks it by keeping Sparrow held in the air. He then runs towards the nearest corner before throwing Sparrow down across the top turnbuckle. Sparrow remains crotched on the top while Alexander climbs up to the middle ropes.
Kris Cruise: We normally don’t see Alexander climb the ropes often. This is the second time now in this match.
Alexander tries for a belly to back suplex, but Sparrow counters with elbows to the back of the head. He then places Alexander in a headlock before using his free arm to punch away at Alexander. Sparrow then lets go and hits Alexander with multiple back elbows before he falls down to the mat.
Stephy Auger: …and that’s exactly why we don’t see Alexander take the air often. A rare miscalculation on the part of the veteran.
Sparrow carefully stands up on the top turnbuckle and turns himself around. After rising up from a crouched position, Sparrow leaps off and crushes Alexander with the The Notorious K.I.C.K. II (Top Rope Double Foot Stomp)!

The crowd cheers when Sparrows knocks him back with the Leaf Hurricane before knocking him back into the corner with a front dropkick. After sitting Alexander backwards on the top turnbuckle, Sparrow climbs the ropes before throwing him down with the Izuna Drop (Spider Suplex)! The cheers continue as Sparrow stands back up on the top turnbuckle before knocking Alexander back down with a diving crossbody block!

Kris Cruise: What!? He got him!
J.A. Aldridge: Ladies and gentleman, the winner of this bout… aaaaaand NEEEEEWWWWWW FGA United States Champion, LOGAN ALEXANDER!
The referee raises Logan’s hand as he’s sitting on the mat near Sparrow, then retrieves the United States title and hands it over to him. Logan looks down at the title in front of him for a few moments, but he offers no outward reaction as he regards it.
Kris Cruise: And there he is… our new United States champion.
Stephy Auger: He doesn’t seem that excited about it. Of course, neither am I. He wasn’t my first choice, but I suppose he is an improvement over the No-Longer-Mighty Sparrow.
Theodore stands outside the ring, on the side nearest Logan and claps. Setting the belt down, Logan rolls onto all fours and then climbs back to his feet, pausing just long enough to retrieve the belt and put it over his shoulder. He looks over to Sparrow who is now on his feet as well, regarding Logan quietly. He smiles slightly and nods to him. After a few moments of consideration, Logan steps closer to Sparrow and extends a hand to him. Sparrow almost immediately reaches out, grabbing Logan’s hand and shakes it as the crowd cheers for this display. Logan nods in return, then turns, so he can stand beside Sparrow and raises his arm into the air then motions to Sparrow with his other hand. The crowd cheers again for this show of respect for the former United States champion.
Stephy Auger: Such a display. It’s almost enough to turn your stomach.
Kris Cruise: Stop it, Stephy.
The pair turn to face all four sides of the ring, then Logan lowers Sparrow’s arm and turns to regard him once more. He adjusts his grip to shake Sparrow’s hand once more and then pulls him closer as though to say something to him. Sparrow’s eyes widen for a moment, then squeeze shut as his face contorts into a grimace.
Kris Cruise: What…?
The crowd goes quiet as Logan lowers his leg after using his knee to deliver a low blow to the former US champion. Logan then releases his hold on Sparrow’s hand, then quickly pivots as Sparrow begins to double over in pain, grabs hold of him by the head and drops to the mat driving Sparrow down with the Silencer (Ace Crusher) on the United States title. The moment they hit the mat the crowd explodes into a chorus of boos.
Stephy Auger: YES!!
Logan sits back up almost immediately after hitting the mat, the United States title falling to the mat beside him and Sparrow, and quickly rolls over onto all fours. He grabs hold of Sparrow by the arms and drags him over towards the edge of the ring. He slides out under the bottom rope and continues to pull Sparrow along, until Sparrow is dangling over the ringside mats from the waist up. Logan then cinches in a front facelock, with Sparrow in that elevated position.
Kris Cruise: Logan, stop! There’s no need for this.
Logan then drops backwards, almost spiking Sparrow onto the mats with Dead Air (Elevated DDT).
Stephy Auger: Of course there’s a need for it Cruise. The champion needs to send a message!
Sitting back up, Logan glances over at Theodore who makes sure to keep himself well back from them. Logan rolls over away from Sparrow getting onto all fours again and moving over to the ring apron, where he starts looking for something under the ring. The crowd suddenly begins to cheer as TJ Techniques sprints down to ringside.
Kris Cruise: Well, someone is here to do something about that.
Theodore notices and calls a warning to Logan who’s just reemerging from under the ring with a chair in hand. Releasing the chair, Logan climbs back to his feet while TJ jumps up onto the ring steps as he comes around the corner, then leaps from them, over the prone Sparrow and hits Logan with a flying forearm smash, knocking him to the mats. TJ lands on the mats and rolls to a stop, quickly moving back over to Logan, drops down and starts punching away on him.
Kris Cruise: TJ Techniques has come to his partner’s aid and is laying into the new champion!
Stephy Auger: Gah! He’s not supposed to be out here!
Logan covers as best he can against the flurry of punches. Theodore moves a bit closer, either to observe or perhaps to intervene. The movement catches TJ’s attention and he stops throwing punches to look at Theodore, who backs off in response.
Stephy Auger: See that! That thug is sizing up Teddy for the same sort of treatment!
Kris Cruise: He’s only watching his back. And after Sparrow was attacked out here, I can’t say I entirely blame his caution.
The brief lull is enough for Logan to bring an arm up and deliver a palm strike to the underside of TJ’s jaw, which knocks him back. Logan uses the opening to roll away from TJ. TJ is quick to recover from the blow and spots the chair that Logan had retrieved close by. Both men are able to return to their feet about the same time, but as they are too far apart for TJ to easily reach Logan, TJ instead throws the chair at Logan. Logan ducks away around the side of the ring, but is still clipped by the chair as it flies past. The chair hits the barricade and falls to the mats.
Stephy Auger: Reckless! That chair could have hit someone in the crowd!
Having chased Logan off for the moment, TJ goes to check on Sparrow. After quickly looking around for TJ, Logan slides back in the ring and moves over to where the United States title has been left lying on the mat. He scoops it up and then moves to the side of the ring opposite TJ and Sparrow, where Theodore is waiting. Theodore motions to the entrance ramp. Instead of moving that way though, Logan crouches down and passes Theodore the United States title, with the exchange lingering a bit longer than normally would’ve been expected.
Stephy Auger: Logan, I don’t think this is a time to linger. Hip Hop Harry has already jumped you once. He’ll do it again without any hesitation if you give him a chance.
Kris Cruise: He did nothing of the sort. He came to the defense of his partner.
In that time, TJ gets back to his feet and, upon seeing Logan crouched in the ring with his back to him, slides into the ring behind him.
Stephy Auger: Well it doesn’t look like he’s protecting his partner now. It looks like he’s about to sucker punch someone!
Theodore spots this and warns Logan, who turns around to meet TJ, who runs across the ring and knocks Logan off his feet with a spinning heel kick. TJ hops back up to his feet, while Logan rolls over and climbs back up a few moments later. TJ jumps forward and knocks Logan back down to the mat with a Shaolin Sidekick (Harlem Sidekick). TJ turns around and waits as Logan climbs back to his feet again. Once he’s back up, TJ unloads with Let The Rhythm Hit 'Em (Phenomenal Blitz) dropping Logan once again. With the crowd cheering him on, TJ moves to a corner and watches as Logan climbs back up to his feet once again.
Stephy Auger: Logan! You’ve gotta get out of there!
Waiting for the right moment, TJ sprints out of the corner. Theodore shouts a warning to Logan, who turns towards the approaching TJ. TJ jumps towards Logan to Set 'Em Straight (Busaiku Knee Strike), only for Logan to duck down and back, narrowly avoiding the knee meant for his head. TJ lands hard, but is quick to roll over and scramble back to his feet, only for Logan to meet him with a solid right punch that staggers TJ and almost drops him to a knee.
Kris Cruise: Wait… what was that?
TJ maintains his unstable footing, but Logan grabs him and connects with a double knee facebreaker, leaving them both on their backs. Logan lies still for a few moments while TJ holds both hands over his face.
Kris Cruise: Logan has managed to bring TJ to a halt here, but I’m at a loss as to how.
Logan is the first to rise back to his feet and he can be seen removing something from his right hand as he moves over to Theodore. Logan then tosses the item to him while leaning against the ropes and taking a few more moments to recover.
Stephy Auger: Ha ha! Power of the punch, Cruise!
Logan turns to look back across the ring as TJ rolls over onto all fours. Logan dashes away from the ropes, charging at TJ and catching him with Muted (Curb Stomp), driving him back to the mat before he can get back up. Logan steps back from TJ and looks down at him. He then extends one arm out to point down at TJ with a finger gun. The gun then ‘fires’ bringing his hand back up to his head, where he can then draw his thumb across his throat. This draws another loud boo from the crowd. Logan then steps back over to TJ, reaches down to grab hold of him and pulls him up from the mat, leaving him doubled over and sets him up in a standing headscissors.
Kris Cruise: Come on! You’ve already made your point here!
Logan flips forward, pulling TJ along, and dropping him on his head with the Last Word (Canadian Destroyer) on him. TJ’s body flops down face first onto the mat while Logan slides back from him and climbs back to his feet.
Stephy Auger: That’s the exclamation point! Logan Alexander has laid out both members of Def Before Dishonor. That is a statement by the new champion.
With TJ down and Sparrow starting to show life on the floor, several FGA officials rush down to ringside to check on them and usher Logan and Theodore to the back. Theodore offers no protest and Logan offers no resistance as the pair make their way up the entry ramp, looking back towards the ring as they go.
