INTERNATIONAL HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
(c) Cordy Stevenson vs. Lowri Moss
J.A. Aldridge: The following contest, scheduled for one fall, is for the FGA INTERNATIONAL HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
“Loner Boogie” by Boy Azooga plays over the PA system, and once the song's intro finishes, through the curtains - and out onto the stage - walks Lowri Moss, who is greeted by a cheer. Lowri takes a moment to scan the crowd, before making her way towards the ring, and as she does so, she slaps the hands of some of the fans that reach out to her.
J.A. Aldridge: Introducing first, the challenger! Hailing from Lanelli, Wales! She is the 2020 Gold Rush Rumble winner and one half of the reigning FGA World Tag Team Champions, LOWRI MOSS!
After arriving at ringside, Lowri climbs the steps up onto the ring apron and steps through the ropes, before heading for one of the corners and climbing to the second rope. There are further cheers and applause for Lowri from the fans, and as she again surveys the crowd, she gestures to them by making the ILY sign with her right hand, in acknowledgement of their reaction to her arrival.
Kris Cruise: Lowri Moss entered the Gold Rush Rumble at number 3, lasted a record 65 minutes and won the Rumble to earn this shot here tonight!
Stephy Auger: She had her choice between challenging Seth Iser for the World Championship or challenging Cordy for the International Championship. It was a tough decision for Lowri. Cordy described the decision as being one of the biggest of Lowri’s career. But she chose to challenge the woman that she beat at Artemis Kaiser Power Hall. This is the match that Lowri wanted. Not only because of the caliber of opponent, because she wanted to add to the legacy of the International Championship. But also, Cruise, she’s not here just to be a great opponent for Cordy. She doesn't simply want to put on a great match with Cordy. She wants to add to that legacy by being the fifth person to ever hold the gold!
Kris Cruise: You look at those list of names that both Cordy and Lowri rattled off. Cordy, Chandler Scott, Jimmy Page, Savannah Taylor. That’s a who’s who’s of some of the best talent to ever compete in an FGA ring. If Lowri were to win tonight, she’d be joining some elite company. In my opinion, Lowri wouldn’t stick out like a sore thumb, either. She would belong right there in that list. But she has to get the biggest win of her career first!
Stephy Auger: A win tonight would also make her both a Triple Crown and Grand Slam winner, having already won the Mid-Atlantic, Pride and the World Tag Titles! Even if Pendragon never won the World Tag Titles, their reign as US Tag Champs would have counted towards a potential Triple Crown or Grand Slam accomplishment.
Kris Cruise: Lowri would join three other grapplers that achieved those feats. One would be one of her arch rivals. The other would be Fujiko and her “mam” Izzy Anders. She would also be following in the footsteps of Fujiko and Izzy as Fujiko’s World Title win and Izzy’s US Tag Title win made them both Triple Crown and Grand Slam winners on the same night, respectively.
Stephy Auger: We also can’t forget that five of the seven previous Gold Rush Rumble winners failed to win the World Championship in the title match that they earned! Yes, the likes of Cordy and Karma eventually won the World Titles. Jimmy Page eventually won back the World Title. But not in the match that they earned from their Rumble win. This is a lot of pressure on Lowri Moss. Yes, she’s pulled double duty. She’s pulled triple duty. She’s set the Rumble record for longest time. She’s set tag team and championship records. She’s been in the ring with the best. But this is different, Cruise. This is a whole different level of pressure. Is Lowri able to do what she had to do to win?
Kris Cruise: Of course Lowri will do what she had to do to win.
Stephy Auger: You’re not hearing me, Cruise.
Kris Cruise: Explain.
Stephy Auger: Is Lowri Moss willing to compromise her morals for that World Championship? Is will willing to get booed?
Kris Cruise: Hmm.
Stephy Auger: Will Lowri Moss do
whatever it takes to win here tonight?
The lights dim down and take on a purplish hue as a light smoky mist fills the entranceway. The soulful opening to Nipsey Hussle’s “Been Down” begins playing as Swizz Beats offering the tracks opening monologue.
Never sell out
Sometimes you gotta talk that talk to em, Nipsey
Sometimes they can't handle it though...
But we don't care...
Yeah
This a moment, This special...
As the beat drops, the crowd gives a loud pop as Cordelia Stevenson emerges from the mist with a bounce in her step and dancing to the music. She comes to a stop atop the walkway, glancing around and taking in the reception. She rolls her neck around before bowing her head and letting her hair fall in front of her face. A few seconds go by before she snaps her head up, whipping her hair back from in front of her face.
J.A. Aldridge: Her opponent, hailing from Freeport, Long Island! She is the reigning… defending… FGA International Heavyweight Champion, CORDY STEVENSON!
She continues on down the ramp, working from side to side, slapping the hands of the fans along the way. Before she reaches the ring, she stops and pulls off her face mask, giving it to a lucky fan before hopping onto the apron and entering the ring. She immediately heads towards the turnbuckles, climbing up and raising a fist. After drawing cheers from the crowd, she hops down and heads to the other side of the ring, to repeat the process. Finally she hops down and saunters over to the corner as the music fades out.
Kris Cruise: Cordy Stevenson has already carved out her legacy. She was already a Hall of Famer before returning in the Fall of 2019. Since that time, she has won the International Heavyweight Championship. No disrespect to those that came before her. But I think it’s clear that she’s gone on to become the greatest International Champion ever. I would go so far as to say that this reign as International Champion is better than her time as Undisputed Champion.
Stephy Auger: I don’t see how you couldn’t come to that conclusion. It’s no secret that I really don’t like Cordy all that much. But again, I can’t deny what she’s done. If Cordy Stevenson never came to FGA before 2019, the things that she’s done since the Fall of 2019 would probably put her down as one of the greats. But this is the thing, Cruise. She’s beaten Savannah Taylor. She’s survived all these other challengers. But now she’s got someone nipping at her heels. She’s got a faster, stronger and younger version of her nipping at her heels. I’ve heard the talk around the back. It’s the same talk that Cordy alluded to. They think that this is Lowri Moss’ time. But Cordy Stevenson still thinks that it’s her time. But only one of them is walking out of here at the International Champion!
Kris Cruise: Cordy wanted this match, Stephy. She wanted Lowri to challenge her. The events of Artemis Kaiser Power Hall are still fresh for Saint Sexy. But this time, the stakes are even higher. The International Championship is on the line. Cordy wants nothing more than to prove to herself and the fans that she can beat Lowri, one on one!
Stephy Auger: But for as great as Cordy is, durability has always been her bugaboo. She’s clearly had a Hall of Fame career. But think of how much more she could have accomplished without the injuries and without the need to retire. Cordy goes at 100 miles an hour in this ring, only to flame out. She goes so hard, only to get hurt. Is she even at 100 percent going into this match?
Kris Cruise: I think Cordy has a clean bill of health and win, lose or draw, we’ll see Cordy in a ring after this.
Stephy Auger: We will see Cordy in a ring again, perhaps. But with the International Championship? Cordy said it herself, this is a mirror match. Lowri got the best of her before. She may very well get the best of her again.
The referee calls for the champion and challenger to the center of the ring. After going over the rules, he asks Lowri Moss if she’s ready. Moss nods. He then asks Cordy Stevenson if she’s ready. Stevenson nods. He then gets handed the title from Stevenson before showing it to Moss. Moss’ eyes light up as soon as she looks at the title. It’s the closest she’s ever come to it. Moss goes to touch it, only to pull back once her fingertips are inches away from touching it. She turns and tells the official that she’ll touch it when she wins it. Stevenson immediately cocks an eyebrow before relaxing her face once Moss turns her attention back to her. The referee holds the championship up for three sides of the crowd before handing it off to the timekeeper through the ropes. He calls for the bell.
Kris Cruise: Lowri doesn’t want to jinx herself. She’ll grab that title when she wins it.
Stephy Auger: Oh? “When” she wins it? So this is a forgone conclusion then?
Kris Cruise: You know what she meant.
Stephy Auger: Don’t tell that me. Tell it to Cordy. She’s the one she disrespected with that little cute remark.
The bell sounds as the crowd is at a fever pitch. Stevenson and Moss continue to exchange pleasantries until Moss puts her hand out. Stevenson smiles after looking down at Moss’ hand. Their attention soon turns from each other towards the cheering crowd.
“LET’S GO, LOWRI!”
“LET’S GO, CORDY!”
“LET’S GO, LOWRI!”
“LET’S GO, CORDY!”
“LET’S GO, LOWRI!”
“LET’S GO, CORDY!”
Stevenson cocks an eyebrow when she notices a subtle change in the chants.
“LET’S GO, LOWRI!”
“LET’S GO, CORDY!”
“LET’S GO, LOWRI!”
“LET’S GO, CORDY!”
“LET’S GO, LOWRI!”
“LET’S GO, CORDY!”
Kris Cruise: Were those slightly stronger chants for Lowri Moss?
Stephy Auger: Who let the Welsh in here? I thought that there were still travel restrictions in place?
The champion relaxes her face when she turns back to the challenger. Stevenson and Moss are met with applause when they shake each others hand. Stevenson can be seen mouthing to Moss,
“I’ll do whatever I have to do it win.” She then turns to walk way from Moss. But she stops in her tracks when she notices Moss hasn’t let go of her hand.
“OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!”
Stevenson turns back to the challenger. Moss can be seen mouthing in response,
“so will I.”Kris Cruise: Uh oh...
Moss motions to walk away from Stevenson. But she notices that Stevenson hasn’t let go of her hand.
“OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!”
Moss turns back to the champion. Stevenson pulls the champion a little closer to her and asks,
“you sure, chica?” Moss gives Stevenson a quizzical look before pulling her hand away from the champion.
Kris Cruise: Things just got tense quick, Stephy.
Stephy Auger: I love it!
Moss takes a couple of steps back and circles the ring. Stevenson stands her ground in the middle before beginning to circle the ring. The two size each other up before moving forward and locking up. After jockeying for position, Stevenson moves Moss across the ring and into the corner. The ref wastes no time enforcing a five count.
Ref: ONE! TWO! THREE! FOUR!
Both grapplers make a clean break. Stevenson steps back towards the center of the ring and waits for Moss. The challenger slowly steps out of the corner before circling the ring. She then inches her way back over towards Stevenson before engaging in another collar-and-elbow. After jockeying for position, Moss tries to take control of Stevenson with a drop step go-behind a waist lock. But Stevenson blocks by grabbing Moss’ arm and placing her in a standing armlock. Moss tries to fight her way out while Stevenson tries to maintain control of the arm. Stevenson is met with light applause when she transitions into an arm wrench. She quickly follows up with a second arm wrench for good measure. Moss reaches over and tries to free herself, but it's to no avail. Finally, she’s able to quickly reach over and reverse into an arm wrench of her own. Stevenson drops down to a knee while Moss bends and twists her hand. The champion slowly gets back to her feet before rolling forward, turning over onto her knees, flipping over with a headstand and reversing into another arm wrench of her own. Stevenson is met with applause as she twists and bends Moss’ hand. Moss lends forward before rolling forward and using her free arm to swat Stevenson’s legs out from under her. She goes for the cover.

Stevenson and Moss scramble back to their feet. They then tun towards each other with raised fists before stepping back. Both champion and challenger are met with applause from the crowd.
Kris Cruise: Neither grappler was able to get the advantage there.
Stephy Auger: This really is a mirror match.
Stevenson and Moss circle the ring before locking up. After jockeying for position, Stevenson gains the advantage with a side headlock before Moss is sent to the mat with a side headlock takeover. Moss slowly turns over to her knees before battling back to a vertical base. Moss is able to free herself by pushing Stevenson off her. Stevenson stagers forward a few steps before stopping. The champ then turns around, walks forward, reaches over and locks her right hand with Moss’ left. They then lock their free hands together before jockeying for position. Moss ends up winning the test of strength as she muscles Stevenson across the ring and against the ropes. With their hands still locked, Moss jumps up and lands on Stevenson’s thighs before throwing her towards the center of the ring with a monkey flip. The crowd cheers and applauds when Stevenson rotates in the air and lands on her feet.
Kris Cruise: How about that!?
Both grapplers circle the ring. They head towards the center of the ring for another collar-and-elbow when Stevenson steps back at the last second. She sizes Moss up before slowly reaching out with her right hand. Moss then slowly reaches over with her left hand and locks hands with Stevenson. As soon as they lock their free hands together, Stevenson hits Moss with a kick to the midsection. With their hands still locked, Stevenson hits a front flip that ends with her legs around Moss’ necks. Cordy quickly brings Moss to the mat with a headstand spinning headscissors. Moss gets back to her feet as Stevenson rushes her. The champion goes for a running shoulder block. But the challenger remains on her feet. Stevenson hits another set of ropes, comes back and hits Moss with another running shoulder block. Again, Moss remains on her feet. Stevenson then points to the ropes and signals for Moss to knock her down. Moss nods her head, turns and hits the ropes. When she returns, Stevenson leapfrogs over her. Moss comes off the ropes and returns before Stevenson turns and leapfrogs over her again. When Moss returns, Stevenson goes for a hip toss. Moss steps through it and goes to counter with a hip toss of her own. Stevenson blocks it. Moss tries to muscle her up for another hip toss. Again, Stevenson blocks it. Stevenson then doubles Moss over with a slap to the stomach. She then drapes her leg across the back of Moss’ neck and performs a back flip. As soon as Stevenson lands, Moss throws her down with a Japanese arm drag. The cheers continue when Stevenson gets thrown down with another Japanese arm drag. Moss takes Stevenson and whips her into the ropes. When Stevenson returns, she brings Moss down with a step-up Tijeras! Stevenson turns and hits the ropes. The champion comes back and tries to knock Moss down with a running forearm strike. But Moss ducks before hitting the ropes. When Moss comes back, the crowd cheers when she executes a tilt-a-whirl headscissors takedown. Stevenson is sent rolling to the outside. As the champion tries to gather her bearings, Moss rushes over into the corner and scales the turnbuckles. She remains crouched on the top turnbuckle as she waits for Stevenson to get into position. When Stevenson turns around, Moss motions to leap off for a diving crossbody. But she has to grab the top rope at the last second to stop herself when Stevenson turns and scurries out of the way.
Kris Cruise: Cordy got the heck out of dodge there!
Stephy Auger: Smart.
Stevenson continues to jog around ringside before running up to the opposite set of steel steps. She then steps back into the ring as Moss climbs down from the corner. Moss looks over at Stevenson and holds her thumb and index finger about an inch apart. Stevenson acknowledges with a nod.
Kris Cruise: Cordy knows how close she was.
Stephy Auger: This match is still dead even at this point.
Stevenson and Moss circle the ring before inching closer to each other. Another collar-and-elbow ensues. After jockeying for position, Moss starts to move Stevenson towards the corner. At the last second, Stevenson pivots and presses Moss against the turnbuckles. The ref is quick to step in and give them until the count of five to break it up.
Ref: ONE! TWO! THREE! FOUR!

Champion and challenger continue to trade blows until Moss lunges forward and connects with a headbutt!
*CRACK!*The cheers continue as Moss sends Stevenson slumping down in the corner with the Scarlet Barrage (alternating rapid-fire knife edge chops and forearms)!
Kris Cruise: Lowri looks to finally have some control, of this match.

But he holds up when he sees Stevenson float over, pull Moss back up and deliver a second bridging Northern Lights Suplex. The official drops back down to all fours. He’s about to make the count when Stevenson floats back over before pulling Moss up. The cheers continue as the champ is about to hit a third bridging Northern Lights Suplex. Moss counters with clubbing strikes across the back. She then takes Stevenson, runs and tosses her through the ropes. Moss turns and heads back towards the center of the ring to recover from the suplexes. But unbeknownst to her, Stevenson landed safely on the apron.
Kris Cruise: Lowri never saw Cordy land on the apron. She thought she got tossed to the floor.
Stephy Auger: Look out!
Moss takes a few steps back before she realizes that the crowd is pointing behind her. She turns around and does a double take as Stevenson springboards to the top turnbuckle. The crowd cheers when Stevenson leaps off and plants her with a Diving DDT! She makes the cover.

Moss then lets go of the hooks, turns Stevenson around and nails her with a hard European Uppercut. A second European Uppercut stuns the champ. Moss takes a couple of steps back before rushing forward and blasting Stevenson with a third European Uppercut. Spittle flies out of the champion’s mouth as her head snaps back. Stevenson remains dazed before dropping down to a knee. Moss sees Stevenson lined up perfectly for a Shining Wizard, so she turns and hits the ropes. She rebounds back and throws out a springboard corkscrew roundhouse kick! Moss counters with a dropkick in mid-air!
Kris Cruise: Moss with an anti-air dropkick of her own!
Stephy Auger: Anything that Cordy can do, Lowri can do better! That’s what she’s thinking ot herself, you know.
Kris Cruise: Don’t you even start, Stephy.

Moss pulls Stevenson back to her feet and nails her with a shoot kick to the chest. Stevenson gets knocked back with a second shoot kick to the chest. Moss presses forward and hits Stevenson with a third shoot. A fourth shoot kick doubles Stevenson over until a kick to the face knocks her upright. Moss sizes up the champ and fires off two quick shoot kicks to the chest! Stevenson goes to block a roundhouse kick to the head. But she falls for the feint as Moss quickly switches targets and catches her with a shoot kick to the right leg! Moss hits a shoot kick to the left leg before immediately following up with a shoot kick to the right leg! Stevenson’s right leg gets targeted with another shoot kick… and another! Moss then unleashes a flurry of shoot kicks to the upper and lower parts of the right leg before reaching down and taking hold of the leg.
