Spencer Burke: Ladies and gentlemen, Jimmy Page.
Page walks onto the scene with his arms crossed over his chest. He acknowledges Burke with a small nod and stares down at his feet.
Spencer Burke: Jimmy last time we saw you Vertigo, you declared yourself for the 2018 Gold Rush Rumble. Many people are excited that you've set your sights getting back into the world title picture. But many people also think you hit a snag by falling to the hands of Kol. How do you plan on redirecting your course towards the ultimate prize everyone wants, the FGA Undisputed Championship?
Jimmy Page: Well, first of all, let's congratulate Kol, he went out there, he beat me and you know what? That's fine. I'm gonna fall, I expect to face the best competition because that's what this game's all about. If I wanted easy I'd still be flipping burgers at a Waffle House down in Flint, but here I am still standing. Kol's a good wrestler, he's tough, he had my number. I'm not going to dwell on that because a lot can happen in that Rumble match. There's no telling who I'm gonna be when that time comes, so I'll let Kol ride his wave of momentum. I'm not going to make excuses, that's not who I am. What I am going to do is continue to grind towards my shot at the title.
You know something, at first I thought to myself due to my public vices, I didn't even deserve something like that. I didn't think the fans would take me in and trust me in my quest to a better me. I can be wrong sometimes, y'know? So when I went out there and announced I was stating my claim to that title belt, it was breathtaking. They wanted me to be in that match, they wanted me to go after that championship, and they wanted to see me succeed. They think I deserve, so who am I to deny them that? So until people stop believing in me, I won't allow losses like this to hurt me. It stings, you wanna do good, but at the end of the day, I've got a long road ahead of me.
Spencer Burke: Well that's a very fair thought process heading into that match, but tonight might be a chance for you to turn some of that misfortune into goodwill when you face Piper Lennon. Can you give us an idea of what's going on inside of your head facing someone like Piper?
Jimmy looks up at Burke for a moment. He looks off into space and collects his thoughts.
Jimmy Page: I have a feeling this is going to be morbid.
Burke furrows a brow a bit.
Spencer Burke: Care to elaborate?
Jimmy Page: I've met so many people in my world who try and use that morbid obsessiveness that all humans have deep inside of them. Never have I met someone who naturally embraces it in the way that she does. If I were the man I was a year ago, I'd say I've fallen in love. But deep down I see myself in people like that, and I flinch away. I know what she wants to do, I know what her M.O. is and quite frankly it doesn't faze me. Tonight, I'm going to give her a memory she'll never forget--rather a match she'll never forget. I want her to walk away from this with a piece of me. And I'm sure I'm going to take a piece of her in the process. Tonight, I'm going to beat her, I'm going to head into the Gold Rush Rumble in two weeks and win my chance to sit on that throne and become King of the F'N World once more.
Page makes his exit, Burke turns away from the departing Page with an approving nod.
Spencer Burke: You seem clearheaded, good luck in your match. That was Jimmy Page who will be facing a capable foe in Piper Lennon tonight!
Burke smirks into the camera and gives a reassuring glance as the scene fades away to commercial.

The Vertigo feed cuts backstage and we open to Spencer Burke standing outside of one of the locker room doors. He puts his fist up into the air to knock on the door but freezes as he hears the door handle turning. Spencer takes a step back and holds the microphone up, watching as Chris Madison steps through the doorway with his manager by his side.
Spencer Burke: Chris, I just wanted to see if I could grab a quick word with you about this whole Pride Championship title picture.
Frankie Morrison: Spencer, we’re on our way out there so that Chris could take care of Mitsuo Shimada and earn a shot at Fujiko Mine - now isn’t the time.
Chris walks passed Spencer, heading down the corridor towards the Gorilla Position. Spencer rushes to keep up with the former champion and his manger.
Spencer Burke: Well, that’s exactly what I wanted to ask. Don’t you think all of this is a bit unnecessary? I mean, Chris, you had the guaranteed rematch locked up.
Chris comes to a sudden stop, spins around, and faces Spencer Burke.
Chris Madison: If you don’t understand why it needs to go this way then you know nothin’ about me and never will!
Frankie Morrison: Now if you’ll excuse us…
Frankie Morrison and Chris Madison continues down the corridor as Spencer looks defeated, unable to break through to the former Pride Champion as the feed cuts away.
