Pendragon vs. Firing Squad
Kris Cruise: The reigning World Tag Team Champions are putting the pressure on Brandon Macdonald to finalize a deal. After watching James Edwards walk out the door, he’s got to be really feeling pressured.
Stephy Auger: Really? You think so? Did you not hear what our GM said earlier? He said James Edwards was a coward! He said good riddance! As far as our GM is concerned, the loss of Edwards is addition by subtraction. However, he’s got to lock down Smart Style to a contract. As Tag Champions, Smart Style will still be able to appear on both shows. But do you realize how bad it would look if, after getting the opportunity on Vertigo to challenge for the titles, Smart Style signs with Flashpoint after winning them. That would sting, Cruise.
Kris Cruise: Yes it would. I guess we’ll have to watch next Saturday’s Flashpoint to see what happens with Smart Style.
Stephy Auger: Watch Flashpoint… voluntarily? Nah, I’m good. I’ll wait for the spoilers on Twitter.
Kris Cruise: While the Tag Team Champs head off to conduct business on Flashpoint, let’s send it to the ring where arguably FGA’s top two rising tandems look to square off. Take it away...
J.A. Aldridge: Ladies and gentlemen, the following tag team contest is scheduled for ONE fall! Introducing first, making their way to the ring at a total combined weight of 320 pounds! They are the team of Luke Jackson and Ymir Ocampos… FIIIIRIIIING SQUUAAAAAD!!!
Kris Cruise: Firing Squad were finally able to shut those annoying Keisters up with a win at A New Odyssey! With The Keisters, Maritza Diaz and Pedro Gonzales behind them, the team of Ymir Ocampos and Luke Jackson have their sights set on gold.
Stephy Auger: But so do their opponents. Once upon a time, Maritza and Pedro were the hot, young team with all the buzz. Then it was Firing Squad. But one could argue that Pendragon have surpassed even them!
Kris Cruise: I don’t know about surpassed. I’d say Pendragon definitely is the more experienced of the two. But both teams have all the potentially in the world! I could see both teams holding those Tag Titles at some point!
Stephy Auger: Boy, way to take a stance, Cruise. Sheesh!
The lights in the Spectrum Center flicker as "Take A Chance" by CFO$ begins to play over the PA system. Out through the curtains walks Neal Durden, and he is followed closely by Lowri Moss, who has the Mid-Atlantic Legacy Championship wrapped proudly around her waist. The Welsh duo stand side by side on the stage for a moment, surveying the crowd, before they then make their way towards the ring, with Neal leading the way.
J.A. Aldridge: And their opponents, making their way to the ring at a total combined weight of 322 pounds! They are the team of Lowri Moss and Neal Durden… PEEEEENDRAAAAGOOON!!!
After climbing the steps and entering the ring, Lowri heads for one of the corners, climbs to the second rope, and takes the championship belt from around her waist and holds it aloft, as she looks out at the cheering fans, while Neal simply stands in the middle of the ring with his pinky finger up and a smirk on his face.
Kris Cruise: Lowri Moss has got to be feeling on top of the world after finally capturing the FGA Mid-Atlantic Legacy Championship! She’s been chasing that championship for the past nine months or so. But she finally won it a month ago, then got the physical championship back at A New Odyssey after Jaelynn Ramsey stole it from her.
Stephy Auger: Good for her. I heard what Neal had to say earlier about Firing Squad not having as big of a chip on their shoulders as Pendragon. Maybe it’s just me, but those sound like fighting words, Cruise! I think Neal is trying to say that Firing Squad doesn’t want it bad enough!
Kris Cruise: I think you’re just trying to instigate and cause tension amongst these two fan favorites.
Stephy Auger: Guilty as charged, Cruise!
The bell sounds as Pendragon and Firing Squad shake hands. Cheers and applause can be heard before the crowd breaks out into split chants.

Lowri Moss and Ymir Ocampos start things off while Neal Durden and Luke Jackson head off into their respective corners. Both grapplers proceed to circle the ring before locking up. After jockeying for position, Moss gains the advance with a side headlock. Ocampos groans when Moss cinches in the hold. The ref heads over and asks Ocampos if she wants to give up. But she’s quick to wave the ref off. After a bit of maneuvering, Ocampos slips out and reverses into a hammerlock from behind. Moss then shifts around before leaning forward and reversing into a hammerlock of her own. The hold doesn’t stay on for long as Ocampos takes her free arm, reaches back, grabs Moss by the back of the neck and brings her down with a jumping snapmare. After Moss gets back back to her feet, Ocampos takes her by the arm and whips her into the ropes. When Moss returns, she knocks Ocampos down with a running shoulder block. The Mid-Atlantic Legacy Champion then heads into another set of ropes as Ocampos returns to her feet with a kip up. When Moss comes back, she knocks Ocampos down with another running shoulder block. Moss turns and runs into another set of ropes while Ocampos returns to her feet with a kip up. When Moss comes back, Ocampos leapfrogs over. Moss continues to run the ropes. Ocampos then crouches down before performing a backwards roll. Moss hurdles over her before continuing to run the ropes. When Moss comes back, the crowd cheers when Ocampos knocks her down with a dropkick. Moss gets back to her feet and gets caught with a second dropkick. After the champion returns to a vertical base, Ocampos takes her by the wrist and performs an arm wrench. Moss cringes when Ocampos delivers another arm wrench. Then another. The ref heads over and asks Moss if she wants to give up. But Moss is quick to wave him off. She then rolls forward, leans back, kips up and reverses into an arm wrench of her own. Ocampos then rolls forward, leans back, kips up, cartwheels over and reverses into an arm wrench of her own. Moss then rolls forward, turns over onto her knees, flips over with a headstand, spins in place and reverses into a hammerlock. She then spins Ocampos around towards her before delivering a side headlock takedown. Ocampos quickly reverses into a headscissors. Moss then quickly escapes with a kip up. After Moss scrambles back to a vertical base, both grapplers turn towards each other with raised fists. Cheers and applause can be heard from the crowd as both grapplers lower their hands before stepping back and circling the ring.
Kris Cruise: Ocampos and Moss are evenly matched thus far...
Moss and Ocampos size each other up before slowly making their way towards the center of the ring. After jockeying for position, Moss uses her strength advantage to move Ocampos across the ring and against the ropes. The ref then heads over and gives both grapplers until the count of five to break it up.
Ref: ONE… TWO… THREE… FOUR…
Both grapplers make a clean break. Moss then steps back towards the center of the ring. Once there’s enough distance between the two, Ocampos makes her way off the ropes. She slowly makes her way back over towards Moss before locking up. After jockeying for position, Moss again moves Ocampos across the ring. At the last second, Ocampos switches positions and presses Moss against the ropes. The ref then heads over and gives them until the count of five to break it up.
Ref: ONE… TWO… THREE… FOUR…
Both grapplers make a clean break. Ocampos then steps back towards the center of the ring. Once there’s enough distance between the two, Moss makes her way off the ropes and circles the ring. The Mid-Atlantic Legacy Champion slowly makes her way back over towards Ocampos and locks up. After jockeying for position, she drops down, goes behind Ocampos and applies a waist lock. Ocampos then reaches down, slowly pulls Moss’ arms from around her waist and reverses into a waist lock of her own. Moss then reaches down, slowly pulls Ocampos’ arms from around her waist and reverses into another waist lock. She then quickly spins Ocampos turns her before tossing her to the mat with a fireman’s carry. Moss drops down and applies an arm bar. The ref asks Ocampos if she wants to give up. But she shakes her head ‘no’.
After getting back to a vertical base, Ocampos rolls forward, leans back, kips up, reverses into an arm wrench and delivers a headscissors takedown transitioned into a figure four necklock. The ref gets back down and asks Moss if she wants to give up. But she refuses. So Ocampos squeezes tighter, causing a look of discomfort to come across the champion’s face. Durden can be seen clapping his hands in support of his partner while Jackson does the same for Ocampos. The ref continues to check in with Moss. But once again, she refuses to throw in the towel. She takes a hold of Ocampos’ legs and slowly pulls them from around her neck. She then quickly spins over onto her knees, gets up to her feet and tries to turn Ocampos over into a single leg crab. But Ocampos uses her free leg to shove Moss down to the canvas.
After both grapplers scramble back to a vertical base, Ocampos runs over to attack when Moss throws her down with a japanese arm drag. Ocampos returns to her feet and gets thrown back down with another japanese arm drag. Moss then takes Ocampos and whips her into the ropes. When Ocampos returns, Moss goes for a hip toss into the ropes when Ocampos counters with a handspring arm drag. After Moss gets back to her feet, Ocampos runs over and delivers a running hurricanrana, sending Moss rolling to the outside. Ocampos pops back up and takes off into the far ropes. As Moss gets up on the outside, Ocampos runs back across the ring and brings her down with a baseball slide into a headscissors takedown. Ocampos rolls inside and heads into the far corner. While Moss picks herself up on the outside, the crowd cheers as Ocampos runs over into the near corner before knocking Moss down with a triangle moonsault!
Kris Cruise: Ocampos takes it to the air and takes down Moss!
Ocampos picks up Moss and rolls her back inside. She then slides back in to make the cover.

Kris Cruise: Firing Squad were THIS close to winning that Tag Team gauntlet a few months back. You know they’d love to get another crack at Smart Style, especially with them now being World Tag Team Champions. But so would The Chaotics and the Polychromatic Lion Attack Squad. What about Reapers in Pride? You can’t forget about Shootcamp, either.
Stephy Auger: You can very easily forget Shootcamp, actually.
Jackson picks up Moss and places her in a side headlock. The Mid-Atlantic Legacy Champion goes to shove him off. But Jackson keeps the hold locked on tight. After a couple of shots to the ribs, Moss goes to shove him off a second time. But again, Jackson doesn’t budge. He then performs a standing switch, grabs Moss from behind and goes for a belly to back suplex. But Moss rolls over his shoulder and lands on her feet. When Jackson turns around, Moss goes for an irish whip. But Jackson reverses. When Moss returns, she executes a tilt-a-whirl headscissors takedown! Once Jackson gets to his feet and turns around, Moss connects with a dropsault, sending Jackson stumbling back into the corner. The Kid then runs out of the corner to attack. But Moss runs forward and brings him down with an STO! The cheers continue as she makes the cover.

Kris Cruise: Durden’s officially in for the first time tonight! While Moss and Sadie San Francisco seem destined for a clash over the Mid-Atlantic Legacy Championship, Neal Durden is looking to make a name for himself in the Gold Rush Rumble and come away with that Undisputed Championship Match for All-Star Showdown Seven!
Stephy Auger: Soooo do these guys want to be tag team champions or singles stars? You can’t do both. Not for any prolonged period of time.
Kris Cruise: I don’t believe that to be the case at all.
Stephy Auger: Okay, then name me any tag team in FGA who won the Tag Titles while also having a member successfully going after singles gold. I’ll wait.
Kris Cruise: Status Quo. To be specific, Cordy Stevenson, the first dual champion in FGA history. Anymore questions, Stephy?
Stephy Auger: …
Once Durden gets in, he goes to take control of the arm. But Jackson pulls his arm from Moss’ grip. Jackson and Durden then step back as they size each other up before circling the ring. The two grapplers then inch towards each other before locking up. After jockeying for position, Durden places Jackson in a side headlock. Jackson goes to shove Durden off. But Durden’s got the hold on tight. So Jackson takes Durden, moves him back a few steps and then runs forward to try and shove him off. But Durden drops down to a knee while keeping the side headlock applied. The ref kneels down and asks Jackson if he wants to give up. But Jackson refuses. After battling back to a vertical base, Jackson goes to lift up Durden for a belly to back suplex. But Durden’s able to shift his weight down, reversing into a side headlock takeover. Jackson then reverses into a headscissors. Before Jackson can really lock the hold in tight, Durden escapes with a kip up. After Jackson scrambles back to a vertical base, Durden takes him by the arm and goes for an irish whip. But Jackson reverses. When Durden returns, Jackson throws out another clothesline. But Durden ducks, goes behind Jackson and applies a waist lock. Jackson then runs forward, wraps his arms around the top rope and yanks back, sending Durden off his back and down to the mat. After Durden rolls back to his feet, Jackson runs over and throws out a Superman Punch. But Durden rolls underneath it. After Jackson lands on his feet and turns around, Durden runs over and throws out a bicycle kick. But Jackson catches his foot before knocking him down with a leg sweep. Jackson follows up with a standing moonsault!

Jackson picks up Durden and wrenches his arm. After Durden’s given another arm wrench, he rolls forward, leans back, kips up, reverses into an arm wrench of his own, yanks Jackson over towards him and slaps on another side headlock. Jackson then shoves Durden off into the ropes. When Durden returns, he slides through Jackson’s legs. When Jackson turns around, Durden runs over and connects with a front dropkick. Jackson stumbles back before slipping through the ropes and falling onto the apron. While Jackson pulls himself up, Durden takes off into the adjacent ropes. When Durden comes back, he delivers a slingshot hurricanrana, sending Jackson flipping off the apron and landing on the outside. The crowd explodes with cheers!
Kris Cruise: What a move by Neal Durden! A slingshot hurricanrana off the apron and to the floor! My goodness!
Durden slides back in and claps his hands. Soon, the crowd joins in with the clapping. As Jackson starts to pick himself up on the outside, Durden turns and runs into the far ropes.
Kris Cruise: He’s not done yet...
When Durden comes back, the crowd cheers when he flips over the top rope and knocks Jackson down with a topé con hilo!
Kris Cruise: Durden takes it to the air! The high risk pays off!
Stephy Auger: Jackson should have moved out of the way!
When Durden gets off the floor and turns around, the crowd cheers as Ocampos runs along the apron before knocking him down with a apron seated senton!
Kris Cruise: Ocampos out of nowhere!
Moss runs along the apron before climbing up to the top turnbuckle.
Stephy Auger: Where is the Welshie going?
Once Ocampos gets back up and turns around, the crowd cheers when Moss leaps off and takes her down with a diving crossbody!
Kris Cruise: Moss with a huge dive to the outside!
Stephy Auger: There’s bodies everywhere!
Jackson takes Durden and rolls him back inside. After The Kid rolls back in, he takes Durden and whips him into the corner. He runs over to attack when Durden knocks him back with a boot to the face. After shaking off the blow, Jackson runs back into the corner. This time, Durden counters with a back elbow to the face. From there Jackson nails Durden with repeated elbows to the face. The last of which knocks Durden off the ropes and down to the canvas. Durden turns over into the prone position while Jackson recovers on the top turnbuckle. The Kid slowly stands up on the top turnbuckle, turns around and stays in the crouched position.
