It was just another day in the land of Frontier Grappling Arts. Wrestlers were limping around the backstage area looking like messes. Stagehands were running feverishly from spot to spot to make sure everything was running smoothly; but there was something (or someone) who made this episode of Vertigo feel...different.
As the camera panned out, Jessie Pederson was seen standing in front of a locker room with the name “Felicity Banks” labeled on it. The live crowd inside the actual arena let out a thunderous ovation (some cheers, a lot of boos) as a smile came across Pederson’s face.
Jessie Pederson: Ladies and gentlemen, we’re just a few minutes away from the in-ring debut of one of the biggest names in our sport today, Fel---
Felicity Banks: They know my name.
The SUPREEEMAAAAAH’s voice was heard even before she opened her locker room door, startling the FGA interviewer to back up a step. The HKW World Champion opened her locker room door, the crowds reaction growing even louder once they spotted Felicity in her ring gear. The most important piece? Felicity sporting one of Chandler’s “Chandler Reigns Supreme” t-shirts with Chandler’s name crossed off and Felicity’s written over it.
Felicity Banks: I don’t get why you interviewers always do this. Why mention my name or any wrestlers name when people clearly know who we are. Like they paid to see us, not you interviewer people.
Jessie went to answer, but Felicity brought the microphone back down to her (shorter) level.
Felicity Banks: No. You don’t talk, kay? Not when I’m asking the questions at least. You heard that sound the audience made when my nametag got shown? Hell, when I stepped out of that door?
Another rhetorical question from the Supreme as she faced the camera and winked.
Felicity Banks: There’s only a few people in this business that can make crowds get as loud as that, and one of those names is Felicity freaking Banks.
It wouldn’t be a Felicity Banks interview without the SUPREMAAAAAH herself showing off her ego, but with that out of the way…
Felicity Banks: Now you may ask me questions, Jessie. Make it quick, though. My match against the FGA legend Bean Bands is coming up and I need to go and get myself prepared. This is pretty much the biggest match in Vertigo history.
Obviously sarcastic, Felicity pulled her “Gambino” armband around her bicep and stared Jessie dead in her eyes.
Jessie Pederson: Well---
Intimidated, Jessie removed eye contact and brought her focus to the floor.
Jessie Pederson: I guess the first question would be...why now?
A bit confused, Felicity squinted her eyes and placed her index finger underneath Jessie’s chin. She pushed it up to bring back eye contact, nonchalantly shrugging afterward.
Felicity Banks: Why now...what?
Jessie Pederson: Why have you chosen to come to FGA now when the door has been open for you for quite some time. You’ve even teased coming to FGA before, but you waited. Some thought this day would never happen, but you’re here! How do you--
Felicity reached her arm out to grab the microphone and brought it down to her chin.
Felicity Banks: Okay, I understand you don’t get many interviews, but take it from someone who used to do this. Less is more when you’re asking questions. You explained your question enough, and you didn’t need to keep going. I like the sound of my own voice too, but you don’t see me blabbing just to blab.
Pausing, Felicity crossed her arms and stared up at the ceiling.
Felicity Banks: I guess---
She blinked, lowering her gaze back down toward Jessie.
Felicity Banks: --- I guess I was waiting for the time to be exactly right. I’m a firm believer that nothing in this life happens at random, so I waited… and I waited… and I waited until something; anything caught my attention enough to show up here in FGA--
Cheap pop (sort of).
Felicity Banks: ---and prove why I am everything every other wrestler claims to be.
Short pause, a smirk appearing on Felicity’s face.
Felicity Banks: And then I heard a rumor from a little birdie that said Chandler Scott was going to issue an open challenge on Vertigo to anyone in this business. The person who I consider the face of FGA appeared to be opponent-less for one of the biggest nights in FGA history, and I just couldn’t let that happen. I couldn’t let some scrub walk out and gain their fifteen minutes of fame from one of the supposed Godfathers of Wrestling. So what did I do?
The Supreme shrugged.
Felicity Banks: I came to the show, got backstage thanks to a few friends, and I started waiting… and waiting...and waiting again.
Brief pause.
Felicity Banks: Were these rumors true? Was the man who carried FGA on his back for years really issuing an open challenge to anyone in the world?
She smirked.
Felicity Banks: And I didn’t have to wait much longer for my answer. I’m gonna say a lot about Chandler from now until All Star Showdown, but right now? As a person who’s going to be related to the guy? I can tell you that there’s no one in this business I respect more than Chandler Scott. Very few in this business deserve all the praise they get, but Chandler Scott’s one of them.
The smirk faded away instantly; no emotion on Felicity’s face whatsoever.
Felicity Banks: But there’s only one goddamn SUPREEEEEEEEMMMMAAAAAAAHHHHHH in this business, and HER name is Felicity F****** Banks. Interview over.
Felicity shoved Jessie back gently and made her way back inside her locker room as Vertigo went to another part of the arena.
