BEAT THE CLOCK CHALLENGE
Chandler Scott vs. Zero McHannon
"Nobody Likes Me" by Deuce ft. Ronnie Radke hits the speakers. Bells are heard chiming through the speakers as the music comes in blazing, the lights surveying the arena, but then it stays focused on the top of the ramp with a bright white light. Zero McHannon walks through the curtain with a black zip up with the hood over his head and a leather jacket over the hoodie. He turns his back to the audience, holding up a "Z" with both hands to the crowd, then turning around abruptly, and rips the "Z" apart.
“Nobody likes me,
No one likes me,
But I don't like them,
Uh uh, I don't, nu uh"
J.A. Aldridge: The following contest is scheduled for one fall! It is your main event of the evening and it is the final Beat The Clock Challenge Match! Introducing first, now residing out of Long Island, New York! Weighing in at 218 pounds…. ZEEEEEROOOOOO MCHAAAAAAAANNOOOOON!!!!!
Zero holds his arms out for a moment and raises his head to take in the atmosphere from the fans as they shower him in hate, then slowly starts to make his way down the ramp. He walks down the ramp as fans are throwing jeers in his face, but Zero completely ignores them, and keeps his eyes fixated on the ring. McHannon stops at the bottom of the ramp and bounces on the balls of his feet, looking from one side of the arena to the other, then sliding in through the bottom rope, and bouncing right up to his feet.
“All this hate you gave me that turned me deranged
Now I'm burning in the flames
All the things you said, they've been stuck in my head
And now I'm at it again, an addict
Welcome to hell, bitch
You can't do nothing about it
Out of my way f*ggot, you heard what I said damn it
I am an automatic ready to fire back at
All the f*ckers laughing
Not gonna lie about it, I'm gonna wreck havoc
Everyone's dying
Don't matter"
Zero McHannon climbs the nearest turnbuckle spread his arms and begins to yell towards the crowd as they do their best to cheer over him with jeers. He freezes for a moment, taking in the reaction from the audience, then hops from the corner ropes, and tests the mat under his feet. He's talking to himself as he crosses the ring and stands up on the other turnbuckle, brushing off his shoulder to the crowd, and slapping himself in the chest.
"This is my chance
Maybe my last
And if I leave
There's no way back
This is your fate
When worlds collapse
I took my pain
Now give it backkkkkkk"
McHannon walks into the middle of the ring with the title in one hand, and pulls off the zip up with his other hand, tossing it off to the side of the canvas. He falls back into one of the corners as he waits for the match to begin.
Kris Cruise: It’s time for the main event, Stephy! It’s the final Beat The Clock Challenge Match of the evening and boy, it doesn’t get any bigger than this, does it? These two have closed out some of the biggest pay per views over the past few years. Now, Zero McHannon and Chandler Scott are battling it out here on Vertigo for a shot at the Undisputed Championship!
Stephy Auger: First of all, I think it’s a farce that Zero McHannon even has to jump through these stupid hoops. Where is his rightful rematch?
Kris Cruise: You want to talk about a farce? How about McHannon coming back and being recognized as the World Champion in the first place?
Stephy Auger: It still doesn’t change the fact that he shouldn’t have to go through this Beat The Clock Challenge.
Kris Cruise: Well he does, so there! I will say that I’m surprised with how unusually quiet McHannon has been in the leadup to this match. Normally I guy like him would be running his yap for days on end, seeing as how he never paces up a chance to run down Chandler Scott.
Stephy Auger: Well this is a big weekend for McHannon. Tomorrow night, he slams the casket shut on Alexa Corra. But before he finishes her off, he slaps around Chandler Scott just one more time. This time, in record time!
Kris Cruise: Slap Chandler Scott around? Are you just brushing Chandler Scott off to the side? You think he stands no chance?
Stephy Auger: None! Absolutely none! Do I think he can beat Zero? Sure, I suppose. But look at the situation he’s in. He’s never beaten Zero McHannon one on one before. You mean to tell me that not only will he beat Zero tonight, but he’ll beat him in under 11:05? I’m sorry, but there’s no chance in hell that’s happening!
The lights dim as the sound of a guitar plays throughout the arena. Multi-colored lasers soon begin to shoot out from the stage. Once their attention has been captured, the crowd turns to the entryway to prepare for the man that's about to walk out. At the 25 second mark, “Animal Ghosts” bursts through the speakers. Chandler Scott steps through the curtain with outstretched arms to a loud ovation from the crowd.
J.A. Aldridge: And his oppo-
The action starts with McHannon rolling to the outside, running up the aisle and socking Scott with a right hand.
Kris Cruise: These two aren’t wasting any time!
McHannon goes to nail Scott with another right hand, but Scott blocks and counters with a punch of his own, eliciting cheers from the crowd. McHannon connects with another right hand. Then Scott comes back with one of his own. McHannon socks Scott with another right hand. Scott then comes back with one of his own. The two men then grab each other by the back of their necks with one hand while using their free hand to bash each other in the face with a flurry of punches.
Kris Cruise: My God, look at those fists fly!
The capacity crowd goes wild at the sight of these two rivals slugging it out. They continue to trade fists at a rapid rate until they eventually slow down. The punches connect, but they get more sluggish. Eventually, McHannon and Scott have to lean forward and support themselves with their hands on their knees.
Stephy Auger: They might have just punched themselves out, Cruise!
Just then, McHannon and Scott stand back up straight and go back to socking each other with haymakers while the crowd is going nuts.
Kris Cruise: I think they just found their second wind, Stephy!
McHannon rocks Scott with a right hand.
Crowd: BOOOOOOO!
Scott comes back and blasts McHannon with a punch to the face.

And another.
Crowd: YES!
And ano-NO! McHannon rakes Scott across the eyes.
Crowd: BOOOOOOO!
McHannon doubles Scott over with a thrusting knee to the midsection. He then takes Scott and whips him hard into the guardrail. After crashing against the guardrail, Scott arches his back in pain before crumbling down to the canvas. McHannon then goes over and puts the boots to Scott. The ref goes over to McHannon and tells him to bring it into the ring. McHannon responds by telling him to FUCK OFF!
Kris Cruise: The ref is trying to restore some order and get this contest underway. But neither man has even gotten in the ring yet.
Stephy Auger: Which means that none of this action is counting against their time, since the match has yet to officially start! McHannon knew exactly what he was doing by jumping Scott in the aisle before the bell could even be rung!
McHannon drops down to his knees and grabs Scott by the throat. The crowd erupts with boos as McHannon tries to choke the life out of Scott. Scott can be seen kicking his legs as he tries to pull McHannon’s hands from around his neck. But it’s to no avail. When McHannon finally lets go, Scott turns over and gasps for air. McHannon smirks as he returns to his feet and begins nailing Scott with hard kicks to the ribs. As Scott tries to curl up, McHannon steps over and begins delivering kicks to the back. When Scott turns over, McHannon begins stomps away at him.
Kris Cruise: Even though McHannon lost the Undisputed Championship Match fair and square to Cordy Stevenson, you know damn well that he blames Scott for the loss.
Stephy Auger: Of course he does. But are you going to tell him that he’s wrong, because I’m not!
McHannon turns to a few fans in the front row and raises his fist. The fans scatter as they don’t want to get socked by McHannon. After McHannon climbs over the guardrail,, he begins kicking away at the connected parts of the rail. After fidgeting with a latch and a lock, McHannon kicks over a four foot section of the rail, separating it from the rest of the guardrail.
Kris Cruise: What in the world does that man have in mind?
McHannon looks down at Scott, then over to the guardrail, then back over at Scott, then back over at the rail. A sadistic smirk forms as McHannon can be seen still trembling with anger.
Kris Cruise: I don’t like the look of this, Stephy!
Stephy Auger: No kidding…
McHannon grabs the piece of the guardrail and strains as he lifts it up over his head. He then walks over and hurls it down violently across Scott, causing the crowd to erupt with boos.
Kris Cruise: McHannon just threw down that piece of the guardrail across Chandler Scott’s body! My God! What in the hell is the matter with that man!?
As Scott curls up in pain, blood can be seen slowly running down the corner of his mouth.
Kris Cruise: Scott looks like he’s seriously hurt here! He must have some internal damage from getting that guard rail thrown down across him. Forget the Beat The Clock Challenge. The ref needs to throw this out before the match even begins.
While Chandler is curled up underneath the rail, McHannon spits down on him before making his way into the ring. McHannon slides in, climbs up onto the middle ropes and holds his hands up in a “Z” pattern while the crowd continues to boo him out of the arena.
The ref moves the rail off of Scott and goes down to check up on him. Whatever question the ref asked, he doesn’t look like he likes the answer that he got. After continuing to check on Scott, the ref shakes his head. He then turns to motion for the match to be called off. But Scott reaches up and grabs his arm.
Kris Cruise: Huh?
As the ref turns back to Scott, Scott hacks up a lock before shaking his head, refusing to have the match thrown out. He then struggles to get back to his feet. Once he does, the crowd explodes with cheers.
Stephy Auger: He’s out of his mind, Cruise!
McHannon looks over in disbelief as Scott can be seen slowly limping towards the ring. McHannon breaks out into laughter as he hops down and motions for Scott to bring his ass into the ring. As soon as Scott rolls into the ring, McHannon pounces on him with several stomps. Against the ref’s better judgement, he calls for the bell to start the match.
Kris Cruise: here we go, Stephy! The has officially started!
Stephy Auger: Forget 11:05. I don’t think Scott will even be able to last five minutes, Cruise!
McHannon reaches down, yanks up Scott and whips him hard into the corner. After Scott’s back collides with the turnbuckles, he crumbles from out of the corner. McHannon laughs as he makes his way across the ring, peels up Scott and whips him hard into the opposite corner. After Scott crashes into the corner, he collapses face-first onto the canvas. McHannon makes his way back across the ring and laughs as Scott struggles to get up on all fours. McHannon then flattens him with a stomp across the back. Scott slowly pushes himself up on all fours. But McHannon is quick to knock him over onto his back after a kick to the ribs. He then drops down and makes the cover.

After Scott crumbles down to the canvas, McHannon turns and takes a look at the clock.
Stephy Auger: He’s still got time. He can end this match at any moment, Cruise.
Kris Cruise: Really? Then why hasn’t he?
McHannon grabs Scott by the hair and slowly peels him off the canvas. He holds Scott’s face close to his and tells Scott that he’s not done beating the shit out of him yet. While McHannon is still talking his shit, Scott quickly rolls him up with a small package.

After slipping down from behind, Scott turns McHannon around and strains as he lifts him up across his shoulders and delivers a fireman’s carry neckbreaker. The crowd explodes with cheers.

As McHannon slowly turns over, Scott slowly stands up on the top turnbuckle. When McHannon gets back to his feet and turns around, Scott leaps off the top rope and connects with a frog splash cross body…
… but McHannon rolls through it and pulls up Scott as he gets back to his feet.
Kris Cruise: Uh oh...
McHannon smirks as he hoists Scott up across his shoulders for the fireman’s carry gutbuster. He then hoists Scott off of his shoulders. But instead of McHannon hitting the gutbuster, Scott slips down in front of McHannon, kicks him in the midsection, lits him up and plants him with the DNA Driver (Bloody Sunday) to an explosion of cheers.
Kris Cruise: The DNA Driver! Scott just hit McHannon with the DNA Driver!
Stephy Auger: NOOOO!
After laying on his back, Scott slowly turns over and strains as he tries to drape his arm across McHannon’s chest. Just as Scott is able to place his arm over for the cover, the crowd erupts with boos as McHannon rolls out onto the apron. The bell sounds. Scott then crawls over, drags McHannon back into the ring and makes the cover, but the ref waves it off.
Kris Cruise: What happened!?
Stephy Auger: I don’t know, you tel me!
Scott slowly turns back over and tries to raise his arm while the crowd cheers. On the outside, the ref can be seen discussing something with the ring announcer.
J.A. Aldridge: Ladies and gentlemen, the referee has informed me that sense a deciding fall didn’t occur before 11:05, this match has been ruled a NO CONTEST!
The crowd erupts with boos.
J.A. Aldridge: Therefor, the winner of the Beat the Clock Challenger and the new #1 Contender to the Undisputed Championship…. IZZY ANDERS
The crowd erupts with boos over the decision.
Kris Cruise: Scott didn't do it! He couldn’t beat McHannon in time! Now it’s that damn Izzy Anders heading to Only the Strong Survive!
Stephy Auger: She’s one step closer to achieving her ultimate goal, Cruise!
Kris Cruise: I don’t know why the hell you sound so excited! The woman wants to burn this place to the ground and I highly doubt she’ll spare you!
“One More Soul to the Call” blares throughout the arena as Scott slaps the canvas out of frustration. The scene switches to a double screen. On the left is Izzy Anders, who has just watched what transpired with a sinister look on her face. On the right is Cordy Stevenson. She clutches her Undisputed Championship belt, knowing that her next challenger will do everything in her power to make sure that FGA’s champion, and the company as a whole, goes down in flames...
