I've been busy! I have time on Wednesday though.
Fine...Spencer Burke seemed rather combative in the opening segment. Plus Brian's initial answer confused me somewhat - how can there be nothing between you? You're feuding, there's something there even if it's not positive. But he seemed almost content to lose tonight, re-iterating how he's never won a major World title, or didn't get the pin in the tag match...and formatting issues
...his rally cry at the end should have been the note he started on to build the support.
That being said, I was expecting a dirty finish for this match. Not sure if it's going another cycle or they're moving on from here, but a clean loss feels like it damages Brian more than I'd like on his first FGA PPV. Unless he gets it back at Only The Strong Survive or some vengeance in the Gold Rush Rumble.
I'll admit, I was a little shocked when I read Julian's bio to find out he was a face. More so when he cheated to win this match - is he an Eddie Guerrero lie, cheat, steal kinda face? I also assumed the Julian/Annie segment was going to be before this match, which is why we never mentioned the result or whether Julian would definitely be moving on into the MAL scene. That being said, glad to see he's moving up after Final Frontier was something of a disappointment for him.
Blake Rogers now needs a foil for him to play off to pick himself back up, and off the top of my head I don't know who there is that'd fit.
Karma and Cherry...are they fucking yet?
Ricky gets the much needed win over Owen. I'm hoping he can carry on the momentum to become an upper-midcard heel, maybe even main event. Just someone to fill the gap left by the departures, if not Annie will have to step up her game
Owen can come back from this one with a decent rumble performance, so no harm, no foul.
Rother stealing Annie's shtick and not talking to Burke?!
Motherfucker...also he needs to be more Trumpian in his lies and distortions. They don't sound unbelievable enough.
Savannah beat Bond? Called it! Covered most of my thoughts on this feud in the last feedback thread so I won't repeat myself.
Hopefully you all enjoyed the Annie/Julian segment, and hopefully they clash again down the line.
Nice twist with the belts being stolen, and the dirty finish was a pleasant change of pace after all the clean wins so far. Rother should have some golden material coming off this, but we'll need some new tag teams soon before we end up with these two feuding for a year.
Yay Evan!
Frankie segment...great job building up the match. I've enjoyed the feud between these two, and with Madison's momentum coming off Final Frontier and the win over Ryan he deserved this shot. They do a good job of pointing out Molly's flaws without burying her, which is nice. Speaking of nice, back to back interview segments with different interviewers ftw! Molly continues defending herself from some of the harsher criticisms, and makes everybody believe we'll see a clean match between them tonight.
Best match of the night up next...
But seriously, hope you all enjoyed the feud. Was fun working with myself these last two months, and now Dom has his grand slam to continue his boasts and brags, and claims of deserving this or that. It'll be fun for me from here, I don't know about the rest of you.
Honestly I expected something from the Undisputed title match before this moment in the show. Gave me some material to work with though, so that's not too bad. Would've liked to see something from Cordy or Zero leading up to this match, but time constraints are a bitch, I know. Otherwise this could be seen as Chandler stealing the spotlight ... which was one of Cordy's talking points? And his protests about "This was not my idea. I didn't volunteer myself" but he did, didn't he?
1/21Unless that somebody that interjected himself was Mo Shots, but even then he's working on behalf on Chandler Scott. Ah well, at least he's not still taking shots at Dan Herrera
Anyway, Pride match. First thing...they employ a twenty count instead of a ten?! Oops! Loved the finish! I want to see a rematch between the two to carry this feud on, but I also want to see Madison have to 'earn' another shot by jumping through some hoops. It just gives both parties so much to work off. Otherwise, maybe Evan gets another shot after his victory over Noelle? Evan vs Madison to decide who gets the next shot? I know there can't be a triple threat because of the 2/3 falls match, but the scene is heating up and this match definitely helped.
Gold Rush Rumble!
Cordy...was a leaping reverse bulldog the best move you can think to do on the exposed concrete? Smh, no self preservation. But Jesus fucking Christ, this match!
And that ending? Nice.
