Favorite Segment(other than one of mine): Evan Envi being escorted by his team of security. I find myself literally laughing out loud when I read some Envi segments. The whole premise of him needing a team of security because of the Molly Kick he received at the 5YA show is absurd; funny, but absurd. Even though she was suspended, and Evan Envi had a team of security by his side, you knew we'd see Molly Reid at some point. The second segment was a perfect example of just how serious Evan Envi could be. They're both doing a great job of building this feud into something to watch for at Final Frontier.

Favorite Match(other than mine): Main event between Harter and Cannon. Cannon had been squashing people left and right throughout the night. Even decked an official! Assuming he'll be fined or suspended by the next show; even though that won't phase him. He's a man on a mission, feeling slighted by seeing the FGA Championship on someone other than himself. Nero Darling, Jaxson Blade, Mark Storm, Armageddon, Kyle Ohio, that poor referee, none of them stood a chance. Harter on the other hand... I think a surprising turn would have been Cannon defeating Harter clean; it was expected that extra hands would get involved in the finish.

MVP: Johnny Karma. He was all over the place on this show and not a down moment. Two solid segments, winning side of the six man tag match, and helping Dom Harter and Cordy Stevenson fight off Johnny Cannon and the Usual Suspects to close out the show. Not sure anyone came out of Vertigo looking better.

Biggest Upset: Don't think there was an upset. Maybe Herrera losing. It's not an upset, more of a disappointment for me; I hate seeing Mark Storm relegated to being squashed in the opening bout. He was a solid writer. I'm glad I got to go up against in NJFC before he burned out and disappeared. Hopefully he can find his way back at some point.

What was missing?: It was a little disappointing we didn't get more from Cordy Stevenson after she won the FGA World Championship at the 5YA show. The two highlight clips to open the show should have set the stage for an in ring segment from her so she could put all of that emotion into words. RL gets in the way sometimes, but it would have been nice to see.

I tried to write a finish that could lead to a rematch between the two. I assume RL flared up for Paige and Dan, like it did for most of us this week. But she practically stole the win out from under him so there's ground for some hard feelings there.

Agreed about Karma being the MVP though. He's getting some decent mileage out of this dead grandpa too.

I like the aggression Cannon showed in the main event, as well as The Usual Suspects finally getting to beat Dom down after all these years. It'll be fun to see where this goes.

The amount of segments seemed right with the shorter card too, which was nice.

Shame about the no-shows as always.

Nice opening bit for the 5 Year recapish. 

Concise cold open after, the sort of thing to touch on what happened but get people hyped for the current show.

Fatal Four Way - good set up and use of the circumstances.

Our seg - had fun writing that with Karma and Mads

Liked how Gordon / Tijerina
was written to where there was no idea of the winner until the bell. Each got shine

Small Evan segment which seems kind of odd - but ends up making sense later.

Morrison seg that covers a few current events and sells the ending of the last match with Madison and Envi

Nero vs Jaxson Blade also used to further story - which is nice to see.

Oh lawd Jesas, Skylar Cloud. REACH FOR THE SKYLAR. Except I guess that Skylar is dead, and this is Skylar V1. or dare I say, BROKEN Cloud. Either way, shits entertaining.

Dan vs Savannah, really enjoyed the pacing on this match alot. Really, really nice ending sequence.

Karma / Dom / Baum - Karma is looking to increase his stock as a mover and shaker, and it looks like DD is about to be the price of that?

And the payoff for the earlier Evan seg - that was satisfyingly written, some of it a little cringeworthy because hot damn the impact, and I also wonder if Envi didn't grease a few security palms. Molly has gotta be super motivated at this point to teach him a really final lesson.

Six Man Tag was a lot of fun to read too. Very good back and forth, everyone got action and it felt 'important'. 

Buffer before the Main Event, leaving a lot more questions than Spencer got answered.

Main Event was action packed, and ended with a bit of sides forming up which should be interesting to follow.

I like the way that the opening was handled. In many feds, you’d see some type of “Squasher” character but using Cannon in this case makes sense and is given the extra nudge by the narrator noting (for a potential newer reader) that Cannon doesn’t have the usual cockiness or swagger in his step, and he’s doing this out of pure malice. Up! I mean… good!

That seg with Johnny Karma and Cherry Baum was kinda brilliant wasn’t it. Like, it got kinda soapy and dramatic and a lesser writer probably would’ve made such a scene on a wrestling show cringe-worthy but this was well-done. But why were Madison and Noelle outside the building looking for them? Creeps. Can’t the man show up to the arena late? It’s like Noelle and Madison never watched an episode of professional wrestling during the attitude era. You could clock in at 9:30 PM if you wanted. Good times. Different era. Sorry. Rambling. Good seg.

Gordon vs Tijerina. Good match. Great showing from both, especially Erin. Kris is a good writer and this should be a good run. My major complaint with this match is why did Stephy Auger leave to take a shit when it started?

THEN THERE WAS THAT AWESOME EVAN ENVI SEGMENT. FUCKIN A THAT WAS GOOD. FUCKIN A. UP.

Announcement of Madison vs LeCavelier for FF was good. I was excited on a “the match itself might be really fun” level but when they announced that the go-home would feature a BTC challenge with the winner choosing a stip, I grew a bit more invested. Easy to build a pretty big rivalry fairly quickly with those stakes. Si.

Cannon going all Samoe Joe on Blade to continue his rampage was badass. Keeps the show flowing smoothly while giving Cannon some major douche heel-heat.

Skylar Cloud’s promo was a highlight. Using energy from the election result might not seem new but the whole “anti-woman” gimmick (portrayed by a female character) definitely raises eyebrows. Pretty sure no one in efedding is sensitive enough to get OOC upset about it but I’m excited to see the kind of feuds that can come out of this. And many, many, many feuds can come out of this…

The drama was high af in Herrera vs Taylor so huge kudos to the matchwriter. Peaches made me feel like Dan was about to fucking die at any moment. But even after that, tons of near-falls that gave this kind of a main-event feel. Kind of like one of the “9:00” or “10:00” Monday Night Raw matches if we’re following formula. Savannah looks really strong coming out of this match and moving forward, though Dan still looks like a champ. Well-written stuff.

Karma, Cherry and Harter interacting made for a good seg. I didn’t catch all of the drama between the two in the past but they play off of each other extremely well. Idk if I’ve said it before, but I dig that even with a more facey Dom, he hasn’t really changed much as an on-screen character. Maybe grown. But just a tiny bit. >_>

EVAN AND MOLLY WHAT A FLIPPIN AWESOME SEGMENT I COULD BARELY BELIEVE WHAT I WAS READING

The tag match that followed was another great piece of action for the night. Everyone got their stuff in and there was a really classic clear face and heel dynamic that you don't always see in competitive efeds-- or efeds in general. Couldn't have written it any better myself!

Damn, I was really pulling for Spence to get that interview. Huge pop when he finally does, eh? But I'm def sold on heel Annie these days. The fact that she hasn't seemed to really embrace the hate (!) in character makes it all the more frustrating which is awesome heat. It served as a good spacer between the tag match and the main event.

Glad to see the commentators do their part in storytelling throughout this match, covering everything from Dom’s history, Cannon’s rampage, to the referee’s recent actions. Dug the continuity with the Usual Suspects getting involved, and was glad to finally see the new World Champion make the save for the babyfaces. Karma sans Noelle for the save kind of threw me off. I might have overlooked it if the tag team wasn’t a concrete thing (and it’s possible I missed this) but it was a little odd considering current events. Forgivable in terms of structure since Noelle has Izzy to deal with. I prob would’ve liked to see more from the Stevenson character in general this show. The main-event save would’ve had a bit more impact if the *new* top champ had cut a promo or done something.

Overall good show. Johnny Karma doesn’t suck.

EDIT: The parts with Evan Envi were especially really fucking good, eh?!?!
