Ahhhh, man. Malik's pic pretty much sums it up. The PPV was absolutely FIYAH #BeckyLynch voice.
Opening match really set the tone, and it was even a Non-title. I think something inside me wanted to see Evan win just so it was one of those "well, he proved he can do it, but can he do it again?" moments. The banter leading up the match I enjoyed and I read the RPs which were also very well crafted. It firmly plants Evan into the Pride picture, but damn it if he didn't make the Wildcard lottery bruh! Good heel play, good face play. If the fire stays for Final Frontier it will be another amazing match to watch and a nail biter for the winner.
Izzy and Noelle play? Another nice heel/face coming together. If they were pointed in the direction to do this, I admire them stepping up and doing something for the show. If they were? My statement still stands because coming out of the first match, this cooled me down and in a good way. The way the characters play off each other is nice.
MAN.... I couldn't help but kinda feel bad at Annie getting booed, but the way she took the jeers like a champ and went into the ring with a goal really pepped me up again. On the other hand, you have Salem who gets to put her toes in the water while Annie is going through this and capitalized. And honestly? It's good for both characters in the long run. Annie gets to develop and Salem gets to have been part of something that I personally thought I'd never see. I never thought Annie would be booed. I never thought Annie would try to adjust to it. And typically, I didn't think Annie would lose her title. That's just me though. Salem put her best foot forward and now there should be so much to work off there. Salem witnessing that and maybe being like "I seen it firsthand what it can do to some people... I don't want to be one of those people", etc. There's a lot of room to dig for this and I like it. And if you haven't seen Annie be 'edgier' or play into the storyline.... then welp
Don't be one of those people.
I get the Savannah promo cause I was in EPRO. Gunner is an absolute bitch to beat, from first hand experience. Traded many shots with Allen and wanted to see how this one played out.
And it was a feel good moment to see Savannah come out with the win, but I don't know how well that goes for Savannah's heel factor! Sure, she wrestled like a bit of a heel, but the image I have of Gunner in my mind can't be replaced. I see him as evil. An evil that I wanted to see Savannah put away. So I felt great when she won. Maybe finally time for a face turn EH?
But nah, Allen wrote a good match. Always does. And to Savannah, she can be a face even though I know Paige doesn't think she can. It's something to think about at least. If I wanted to see Savannah win over evil, it's a good sign that she's can play the turns game. Got off topic, but yeah, that's what stuck out to me the most.
Nice little rundown of the tag team title feud, but I breezed through it because I've read most of it before. It doesn't take away from what's ahead though.
Tag match was a little short, but given the circumstances, I get it. The twist in the end is what bought me. RubyWay heel turn? Didn't see that coming, and I know they gave reasons, but there was very little play to it. I would've said tease it a little more, because unless I missed something, there wasn't much tease. It was just a full committing. Even with the answers given, I'm still wondering "why"? Will keep reading to get those reasons though because even for Zero, part of his heel turn has just been exposed with the PTSD. Been sitting on that for a while, so I'll sit on this one too. Gimmmmmeeeeee why, because now I'm just interested besides what the words given were and I think they're lies.
Who didn't want to see Karma win though? I felt for the dude, given what he's going through in RL and can't ever seem to get the upper hand on the NK no matter what he does. Nice balance in the match, but in the end, it was what I expected to see happen. Wanted to see Karma pull it off so fucking back though, so props to both sides doing their job to actually give that feeling during the match. Karma lost a helping hand in Fujiko. Can we get this guy some help!?! Lol. Can't expect him to really go up against a stable on his own. He'll always put up a good fight, but will always fall short. It's just too overpowering. You feel for Karma, but you're yelling at him to play it smarter than he has, because getting #BeatUp takes a toll on a man.
My video package.
Honestly thought about doing the Narrator thing the whole time, but seems that "CHANDLER WINS" and "ZERO WINS" kinda irked me. So I went with lines from Bryce and mine promos instead and I loved the end result. Love doing video packages in general. I call dibs on doing one for the next big event if I can.
And ahhhh, man. Chandler v Zero warmed my heart with how properly written it was. Not big on talking about my own stuff ooc wise, but Jesus... props to the match writer. It's easily one of my favorite matches being involved in. Above and Beyond goes slightly behind this match, but this PPV match was just amazing for the read. New moves. Chandler v Zero came full circle. Regardless of the result, it was amazing every step of the way. Two men that made this personal instead of all about a title. And when Zero won, it legit sucked the air out of the arena. Been waiting on a moment like that for yeaaaaars. Glad it was with Bryce in the end because he's an amazing writer. Hoping Zero and Chandler become sworn enemies from now on. Everyone needs one of these.
10/10 rating with the matches. I love PPV's where it's all action and little segments. I like a lot of feud build to the PPVs. It's just my own personal opinion.
Now I have a challenge for people... I'm going to be reaching out to some people, because I'm going to be doing some CDs and I already have some floating around. I encourage people to reach out to me as well. If not? WELL FUCK YOUUUUU! Just kidding lmao. I do want people to pitch me ideas thought, because this is about you guys now and I want to work with you.
But more importantly, I challenge you guys to dig a little deeper than "I have a chance to be the FGA World Champion!" "I get a shot at being the world champ!" When everyone thinks that same way, it honestly makes me roll my eyes some. Of course your character wants to be world champ! BUT WHY? What drives them? Surely it isn't just about being the world champ because I want more than that and I expect more creatively. Chandler felt like he has something to prove. Zero didn't think he could be a healthy Chandler and wanted to prove it to himself. McHannon felt undervalued. Unappreciated. All IC of course. Plus the hate there just tells a story in itself.
Whenever everyone goes into this only thinking "I get the chance to be FGA World Champion!" it takes away from the opportunity/story that's being given to you. No one feels bitter that they aren't going to have run through Chandler or Zero to become that champion? Probably the 2 most decorated champs over the past 2 years? Heels aren't already thinking of ways to manipulate the system? Faces or heels don't want to maybe try to track Zero down and bring the FGA World Championship he has back home? Maybe they think if they do that the company will reward them? Cmonnnnnnnnnnn. Dig a little more creatively. I'll work with anyone. Bryce will too, I'm sure. He has been nothing but humble working with me. I've seen a handful at best come with a little something different to the table already, but that's about it.
I want to see what you guys do with this and work your magic to dig just a little deeper and let it be more than just that one line. This happening has already caused so much attention for you guys and FGA in general. Get those creative gears rolling!
Reaching out to some of you soon. Do the same for me if I don't get in touch with you. We can pitch ideas to each other and make this a really special moment, and a story that I've never seen done before personally.
I don't bite. Much.
