MAIN EVENT
GOLD RUSH RUMBLE
The bell sounds as ring announcer J.A. Aldridge is standing in the center of the ring.
J.A. Aldridge: The following contest is your main event of the evening and it is the GOLD RUSH RUMBLE!
(The crowd explodes with cheers, followed by some “GOLD RUSH!” chants scattered throughout the crowd.)
J.A. Aldridge: Here are the rules. The grapplers who drew numbers one and two will start the match. Every two minutes, a new participant will enter the ring. This process will continue until all thirty grapplers have entered the ring. There are no pinfalls and no submissions. The only way to be eliminated is to be thrown over the top rope and having both feet touch the floor. The winner of the 2016 Gold Rush Rumble will go on to receive a FGA World Championship Match at ALL-STAR SHOWDOWN V!!!
(Another round of applause is heard from the capacity crowd)
J.A. Aldridge: Now let us find out who drew #1!
Silence and darkness. There is nothing. But soon, there is a single clap. A slow clap... that soon escalates into the beginning of Lady GaGa's "Applause". Red and white lights change rapidly, fluttering throughout the darkness. As soon as the chorus begins, the lights go pitch black. That is until the fast pace of the music picks back up and a single light shines from beneath the entrance area. A silhouette stands, motionless, one hand upon one hip, the other throw to the heavens. As the song returns to the chorus, the lights regain their rapid fluttering between red and white lights, and the face of the man known simply as Nero begins his strut to the ring. His face is cold and stoic, absorbing the malice from the audience. They hurl insults and boos at him, and he drinks it up.
Kris Cruise: It’s “The Leper Messiah” Nero!
Stephy Auger: He might have been successful earlier against Aries Reed. But I don’t like this spot for him. He’s not exactly the biggest guy in this field, Kris.
Kris Cruise: During the first Gold Rush Rumble in 2013, Johnny Karma entered at #1 and was the second to last grappler eliminated. But that Rumble only had 19 entrants. Since the expansion of the field to 30 grapplers in 2015, no one who has entered #1-5 have made it to the end or have even been in the final 4.
Stephy Auger: Those aren’t good odds at all. But he pulled off the upset earlier. Maybe he’ll do it again here?
Once he reaches the ring the slides under and crawls to the center of the ring, remaining on his knees as the music continues and the lights continue to flutter around him. The boos and the jeers get louder and louder as he continues to stay there, on his knees, in the center of the ring, until the music stops. The lights go dark, save for a single spotlight lighting him from below and to the side, his shadow masking part of the audience. A microphone from above comes to rest just in front of his face as the Leper Messiah himself slowly begins his tirade against humanity.
J.A. Aldridge: Now, let us find out who drew #2!
'The following thoughts and ideas are not those expressed by FGA, its Sponsors, or its Affiliates.

Suddenly, the lights in the arena dim, and all we hear is one voice.
As the sun falls, darkness shall come...
The opening rant Tech N9NE gives to begin "Blackened the Sun" by him begins, the crowd jeering as Aries Reed emerges from the entrance way! Without hesitation, he makes his way to the ring…
Kris Cruise: Aries Reed is making his way to the ring with purpose, Stephy!
Stephy Auger: The mind games with Nero over these last few months have been one thing. But after being upset earlier tonight, you can bet that The Silver-Tongued Devil is out for revenge!
The bell sounds as Aries runs over and tackles Nero down to the mat...
Kris Cruise: Aries not wasting any time going for his rival!
… but instead of enjoying Aries being on top of him, Nero quickly covers up as Aries rains down rights and lefts at his head. Some of the blows still penetrate. But Nero does a fairly good job of projecting himself. So Aries slithers his hands through Nero’s defense, grabs him by the hair with both hands and repeatedly rams the back of his head against the canvas.
Kris Cruise: Aries is trying to maul Nero out there.
Stephy Auger: If I had been subjected to what Aries has been put through by Nero, I’d be doing the same thing!
Aries picks up Nero, runs into the corner and slams him face-first into the top turnbuckle. Nero’s slammed so violently into the turnbuckle that upon impact, Nero bounces back and falls to the canvas. But Aries isn’t done. So marches over, stands over Nero and pulls him back up by the hair. He runs and flings Nero across the ring. Nero arches his back in pain. Aries then runs over and connects with a hard kick to the back. The thud from the kick can be heard throughout the arena. While Nero’s still in a seated position, Aries reaches down and fish hooks Nero’s mouth. Nero can be seen screaming in agony as Aies tries to rip his mouth apart.
Kris Cruise: Aries might want to reign it in and conserve some of this energy he's exerting. He’s got a long road ahead of him if he wants to be there at the end.
Stephy Auger: I think the only thing on his mind right now is trying to rip apart Nero. Literally.
Aries picks up Nero and goes for an irish whip. But Nero reverses, sending him into the corner. After collecting himself, Nero runs across the ring. But Aries steps out, catches him and delivers an exploder suplex into the turnbuckles.
Stephy Auger: The First Amendment!
While Nero’s crumbled up in the corner, Aries gets back to his feet and proceeds to stomp the hell out of Nero’s limp body.
CROWD: TEN!… NINE!… EIGHT!… SEVEN!… SIX!… FIVE!… FOUR!… THREE!… TWO!… ONE!..
[BUZZER SOUNDS!]
#3 - “Engel” plays throughout the arena as the crowd responds with a shower of boos. Savannah Taylor can be seen walking slowly down to the ring.
Kris Cruise: After that No DQ Triple Threat from earlier tonight, Savannah is in no rush to get into this one.
Stephy Auger: Which is smart on her part.
Upon climbing up onto the apron, Aries runs over and delivers a running shoulder thrust to the midsection. The shot knocks Savannah off the apron and send sher crumbles to the floor.
Kris Cruise: That hard shot might have just knocked the wind right out of her!
Back in the ring, Aries marches back over and continues to put the boots to Nero. He then reaches down and chokes him with his foot. He then pulls down on the top rope.
While Aries continues to put the hurt on Nero, Savannah slowly rolls into the ring. Unbeknownst to Aries, Savannah creeps up from behind and drills him with a double axe handle smash across the back of the neck. She then turns Aries around and blasts him with forearm shots to the face. After a kick to the midsection, Savannah takes Aries and goes for an irish whip. But Aries reverses, sending her into the ropes. When Savannah comes back, Aries scoops her up onto his shoulders for a Death Valley Driver. But Savannah's able to elbow him repeatedly in the side of the head. After slipping down from behind, Savannah grabs Aries and brings him down with a front russian leg sweep.
Stephy Auger: Blonde Ambition!
Savannah picks up Aries and brings him over towards the ropes. After pressing his chest against the ropes, she reaches down, hooks one of his legs and tries to dump him over the top rope. But Aries reaches back and elbows her right in the face, causing her to stumble back. Once Aries turns around, he runs over and knocks her down with a jumping calf kick. Aries picks up Savannah, runs and goes to toss her over the top rope. But she’s quick to hook her arms around the top rope. Aries then tries to gutwrench suplex her over the top rope. But again, she’s got her arms wrapped tightly around the top rope. She then reaches back and repeatedly punches him in the face. Savannah then takes Aries by the ropes, moves him into the corner and chokes him. After about seven seconds, Savannah takes Aries and whips him into the opposite corner. She then runs across the ring and connects with a yakuza kick, sending Aries crumbling down to the canvas.
CROWD: TEN!… NINE!… EIGHT!… SEVEN!… SIX!… FIVE!… FOUR!… THREE!… TWO!… ONE!..
[BUZZER SOUNDS!]
#4 - “Heavy” hits as Ruby Tyler heads down to the ring to cheers from the crowd.
Kris Cruise: It’s one half of #RubyWay, Ruby Tyler!
Stephy Auger: Is that Ruby Tyler or Ruby Hardaway?
Kris Cruise: Don’t even start with that...
As soon as Ruby slides in, she’s greeted with boots to the back from a now recovered Nero. He reaches down, picks up Ruby and leans her back against the ropes. He then hooks one of her arms and tries to dump her over the top rope. But she’s able to reach out and grab a handful of hair with one hand. After pulling Nero towards her, she cracks him with a headbutt. Ruby then grabs Nero, moves him into the corner and pummels him down with a combination of punches and chops.
Kris Cruise: Look at Ruby Tyler go, Stephy!
Stephy Auger: Yeah, she’s feeling good after that #RubyWay win from earlier tonight. But there’s no friends in this one. Just foes. If Hardaway gets in the ring and she’s still in there, you think he won’t hesitate to chuck her over the top rope?
On the other side of the ring, Aries is lighting up Savannah’s chest with knife edge chops. After a shoulder thrust doubles her over, he hooks both of her legs and tries to dump her over the top rope. But Savannah blocks after rapid overhead elbows to the head. After Aries lowers her, Savannah continues to fire back with a flurry of right hands. She then cups Aries by the back of the neck, runs and goes to toss him over the top rope. But Aries wisely drops down to a knee. She then tries to reach down and pick him up. But Aries hooks his arms around the middle ropes.
Stephy Auger: What a smart move by Aries. They can’t dump you over the top if you’re down on the mat.
Back on the other side of the ring, Ruby takes Nero and whips him into the opposite corner. She charges across the ring, but Nero nails her with a boot to the face. As Ruby turns and staggers away from the corner, Nero runs up from behind. But she’s quick to turn around and knock him down with a jumping side kick. Ruby then picks up Nero, runs back into the corner and slams him face-first into the top turnbuckle. After leaning Nero chest-first against the ropes, she goes to hook over of his legs and dump him to the outside. But Nero reaches back and rakes her across the eyes.
CROWD: TEN!… NINE!… EIGHT!… SEVEN!… SIX!… FIVE!… FOUR!… THREE!… TWO!… ONE!..
[BUZZER SOUNDS!]
#5 - The buzzer sounds for the next entrant in the Gold Rush Rumble, when instead of an eager participant rushing from the back, Yun Goeun walks out onto the ramp in her street clothes, holding a microphone.
Kris Cruise: What is Yun doing? Why does she have a micropho-
Stephy Auger: Shhh! Shhh!!
Yun Goeun: Hey, referee oppa! Up here. Well I guess any of you around the ring will do. But you can just... I don't know count me out? Disqualify me? Just pretend I was eliminated?
A couple of the referees turn to look up at the ramp, as do a few of the wrestlers in the ring, but try their hardest to keep their focus on the match and not outside distractions.
Yun Goeun: What I'm trying to say is I'm not entering that ring. I'm not participating in this shit at all. Only one person benefits, and a lot of people go home sore and losers and in some cases sore losers... So in the end, really the fans are the ones who gain the most from this and frankly I am not about to partake in something for them! So, yeah just do what you have to do to say I was eliminated. Hell, I think we may have a new shortest time in the Rumble, there ya go get the fans clamoring for some records being broken or some shit.
Two of the referees at ringside shrug at each other.
Yun Goeun: And to those in the ring? You realize outside of maybe three people in that ring or who will be coming down to that ring, none of you have any chance at this? The decks are stacked against you, and the further you realize you are just a race horse chasing a carrot on a stick, the better off you all will be. Because spoiler, you're not getting the carrot. Not now, not in the future. The system doesn't work that way. Sure, the underdog story feels nice, but come on... So you all just keep chasing that impossible dream, I'm out.
Yun drops the mic and heads back to the backstage area, leaving the referee unsure how to rule this…
Kris Cruise: Did Yun just refuse to enter this match?
Stephy Auger: Were you not paying attention? That’s what she just said!
Back in the ring, Ruby’s quickly attacked from behind by clubbing shots to the neck from Nero. The crowd boos as Nero takes Ruby and goes for an irish whip. But Ruby reverses, sending Nero into the ropes. When Nero comes back, she jumps up and delivers The Crimson Kiss. The crowd upon seeing Nero sprawled out on the canvas. Ruby then picks up Nero, runs and tosses him over the top rope and to the floor to cheers from the crowd.
(Nero - ELIMINATED)Kris Cruise: We got our first elimination, Stephy!
Back on the other side of the ring, Aries is knocking Savannah back with a flurry of right hands. While Savannah is dazed, Aries takes a few steps back before running forward and throwing out a clothesline. But Savannah ducks. When Aries turns around, he gets knocked over the top rope and to the floor by the Desert Rose.
(Aries Reed - ELIMINATED)Stephy Auger: … and there goes The Silver-Tongued Devil!
Both Ruby and Savannah back away from the ropes to observe the men they’ve just eliminated. Once they reach the center of the ring, their backs smack against each other. With clenched fists ready, they turn around and are face to face with each other.
Kris Cruise: Oooooooh boy!
The crowd is at a fever pitch as these two acquaintances from out West continue to stare each other down. The fans look on as they eagerly await for the moment that the fists begin to fly between these two.
CROWD: TEN!… NINE!… EIGHT!… SEVEN!… SIX!… FIVE!… FOUR!… THREE!… TWO!… ONE!..
[BUZZER SOUNDS!]
#6 - “Free Bird” hits the speakers as Kevin Hardaway marches down to the ring.
Kris Cruise: I think Ms. Taylor is officially screwed, Stephy.
Stephy Auger: … yeah, pretty much.
Savannah’s eyes widen with shock as she realizes she’s caught between a rock and a hard place. Before Hardaway even reaches the ring, she suckers Ruby with a back elbow strike to the face, which sends her stumbling back. As soon as Hardaway climbs up onto the ropes, Savannah meets him with a dropkick, knocking him back to the floor. After as Savannah returns to her feet, Ruby runs over and tackles her into the corner. She unleashes a series of shoulder thrusts to the midsection. She then tries to wrap her arms around one of Savannah’s legs and lift her over the top rope. But Savannah stops her after a series of elbows to the head. But Savannah’s isn’t free as Hardaway gets in the ring and socks her with a right hand. He then takes Savannah and whips her into the opposite corner. Hardaway runs across the ring to attack, but Savannah nails him with a boot to the face. Ruby then runs over to attack. But she’s caught by an elbow strike to the face. As soon as Savannah turns her attention back to Hardaway, K-Hard nearly takes her head off with a running European Uppercut.
Kris Cruise: I bet he’s wanted to do that for a long, long time, Stephy.
Hardway grabs Savannah’s right leg and tries to dump her over the top rope. But she hooks her right arm around the top rope while hitting him in the back with wild hammer fists. Ruby then runs over and socks Savannah with a hard right of her own. While Hardaway's still trying to dump her over the top rope, Ruby grabs her by the head with both hands and cracks her with five headbutts. She then helps K-Hard try to dump Savannah to the outside.
Kris Cruise: #RubyWay’s about to eliminate Savannah! She’s hanging on for dear life!
Despite a valiant effort from Savannah, #RubyWay’s able to lift up and nudge Savannah over the top rope…
… but Savannah lands on the apron and quickly slips back in under the bottom rope to the dismay of the crowd. Ruby gives Hardaway a quick shove to the shoulder out of frustration. Hardaway eyes Ruby before the two get back to putting the boots to Savannah.
CROWD: TEN!… NINE!… EIGHT!… SEVEN!… SIX!… FIVE!… FOUR!… THREE!… TWO!… ONE!..
[BUZZER SOUNDS!]
#7 - “Jaguar” blasts over the PA as Fujiko Mine makes her way down to the ring.
Kris Cruise: Here comes Fujiko Mine! Could #7 be the lucky number for “Lady Luck”?
Stephy Auger: Maybe, maybe not. But #7 is a long way from the #21 that she came out at last year.
Fujiko quickly puts on the brakes once she sees that #RubyWay has turned their attention from Savannah to her.
Kris Cruise: If I were Fujiko, I’d tread lightly.
Fujiko motions to climb up onto the apron. But as soon as Ruby motions towards the ropes, Fujiko gets back down. Lady Luck begins to circle the ring. But #RubyWay doesn’t take their eyes off her.
Kris Cruise: Fujiko’s continuing to bide her time. She knows that as soon as she gets in, #RubyWay will be all over her like two wild dogs.
Stephy Auger: Why hasn’t she been counted out yet?
Kris Cruise: She hasn’t even gotten in the ring yet. Besides, there’s no countouts in this match, either.
Fujiko tries to slide into the ring. But as soon as #RubyWay rush over to attack, Fujiko quickly slips back down. While #RubyWay continue to eye Fujiko, Savannah comes up from behind and knocks down Ruby with a yakuza kick to the back of the head. This causes Hardaway to turn his attention to Savannah. The two trade fists. But Hardaway is quick to gain the upperhand. He quickly moves Savannah into the corner and begins to choke her with both hands.
Kris Cruise: Look at Hardaway try to squeeze the life out of Savannah.
Stephy Auger: There’s clearly no love lost between these two.
Fujiko then slides into the ring, picks up Ruby and tries to dump her over the top rope. But Ruby reaches back and elbows Fujiko in the face. After a knee strike to the midsection, Ruby takes Fujiko, runs and tosses her over the top rope…
… but Fujiko lands on the apron. Ruby then runs over to attack. But Fujiko slides back into the ring and through her legs. When Ruby turns around, Fujiko pops back up to her feet and tries to clothesline Ruby to the floor. But Ruby ducks and lifts Fujiko up across her shoulders. She then pulls herself towards the ropes and transitions to having her arms wrapped around the top rope. Ruby continues to try and shove her over the top and to the floor. But it’s to no avail.
CROWD: TEN!… NINE!… EIGHT!… SEVEN!… SIX!… FIVE!… FOUR!… THREE!… TWO!… ONE!..

#8 - “Tecmo World Wrestling/Button Mash Clash” plays as Pat Gordon Jr races down to the ring.
Kris Cruise: It’s the Boston Bruiser, Pat Gordon, Jr! Listen to this capacity crowd welcome him back with the “Welcome Back” chants!
Stephy Auger: Who invited this idiot? Or did he gets his Frontier’s mixed up again?
After sliding into the ring, PGJr gets up and immediately begin trading fists to Hardaway to cheers from the crowd.
Kris Cruise: These two old rivals are picking up right where they left off!
Stephy Auger: Yeah, hopefully they do us all a favor and knock each other's lights out.
Both men continue trading fists as the crowd remains at a fever pitch. Hardaway begins to gain the upperhand as he starts knocking PGJr back. But PGJr blocks the last punch and comes back with another flurry of punches of his own. While Hardaway appears dazed, PGJr turns and runs into the ropes. But before he can come back, Hardaway cuts him off with a running European Uppercut. Hardaway then runs across the ring into the far ropes. Stephy Auger: Yeah, for now. Look at him throwing all these wild strikes. If he makes it all the way to the end, he’s going to be gassed!
PGJr continues his assault until Ruby latches onto him from behind and applies a rear naked choke. Ruby tries to bring him down to the canvas. But PGJr counters with a sitout jawbreaker, sending Ruby stumbling back. While Ruby’s dazed, PGJr gets up and runs into the ropes. When he comes back, Hardaway blindsides him, turning him inside out with a Decap Lariat to cheers from the crowd.
CROWD: TEN!… NINE!… EIGHT!… SEVEN!… SIX!… FIVE!… FOUR!… THREE!… TWO!… ONE!..
[BUZZER SOUNDS!]
#9 - The annoying tune of “Classic” fills the speakers. The crowd immediately boos as Sara Cochran jogs down to the ring.
Stephy Auger: It’s Sara Cochran!
Kris Cruise: Sara Cochran called off her last match due to an injury that she thought was more serious than it actually was!
Stephy Auger: Are you trying to say that Sara Cochran is weak? Are you implying that she isn’t tough? You heard what she said about stingers, Kris. They appear really bad at first. If she could have continued the match, she would’ve!
Kris Cruise: Okay, fine. But you can’t deny that she was careless out there in the ring and ended up giving Noelle Smith a concussion. Now, thanks to Sara, one of the favorites to win this thing is now out indefinitely.
Stephy Auger: Hey, it’s not her fault that Noelle’s brittle.
Kris Cruise: Oh, give me a break...
As soon as Cochran slides in, she goes over to Fujiko and delivers a stinging knife-edge chop. She then takes Fujiko and goes for an irish whip. But Fujiko reverses, sending her into the ropes. When Sara comes back, Fujiko goes for a back body drop. But Sara slips down from behind. She then quickly grabs Fujiko from behind, runs and tosses her over the top…
… but Fujiko lands on the apron and quickly rolls back into the ring.

Kris Cruise: Stop it.
In the corner, #RubyWay can be seen trying to dump PGJr over the top rope. But the Boston Bruiser hangs on for dear life. After a struggle, they’ve got PGJr apparel to the top rope… until Savannah comes up from behind and nails Ruby with a punch to the kidney. #10 - “Hate Me Now” plays as Nero Darling runs down to the ring as the crowd cheers.
Kris Cruise: it’s our Glorious Leader, Nero Darling!
Stephy Auger: She may be your leader. But she’s not mine.
Kris Cruise: Nero Darling just competed in a Fatal 4-Way earlier tonight. So she’s already been in a match where she had to keep her head in a swivel. I guess that would be good practice for a match like this.
Stephy Auger: That’s somewhat true. But there’s a big difference between being in a match with three people and being in a Rumble where there could be a dozen or more people in there at the same time.
After Darling slides in, she heads over and helps Fujiko try and oust Cochran. But Cochran is hanging on for dear life.
Stephy Auger: Look at Sara trying to fight off two grapplers! Are you still trying to tell me that she’s not tough, Kris!?
On the other side of the ring, Savannah and Ruby continue to go at it, trading fists back and forth. But Ruby’s able to duck a right hook and comes back with a hard European Uppercut. After slipping down from behind, she dumps Ruby over the top rope. But Ruby lands safely on the apron. Savannah tries to knock Ruby off with a right hook. But Ruby ducks. When she stands back up, she throws out a right hook of her own. But Savannah blocks and counters with a roundhouse kick. While Ruby’s dazed, Savannah turns and delivers the Desert Rose, knocking Ruby off the apron and to the floor as the crowd boos.
(Ruby Tyler - ELIMINATED)Stephy Auger: You know she’s going to savor that elimination.
On the other side of the ring, Darling dumps Cochran over the top rope. Darling turns away from the ropes and raises her arms in the air, thinking that Cochran has been eliminated. But unbeknownst to her, Cochran landed safely on the apron. After sliding back into the ring, Cochran gets up, runs up from behind, grabs Darling and tosses her over the top rope and to the floor. The crowd boos upon seeing Darling hit the floor.
(Nero Diamond - ELIMINATED)Kris Cruise: Darling thought she had eliminated Cochran. But she wasn’t correct.
Stephy Auger: Cochran just taught Darling a very valuable lesson: don’t turn your back on anyone in the Rumble.
Across the ring, Hardway sends PGJr into the ropes. When PGJr comes back, Hardaway connects with a running European Uppercut, knocking him back through the ropes and to the floor.
Kris Cruise: What are we about to see here?
While PGJr shakes out the cobwebs on the outside, Hardaway runs into the far ropes. When Hardaway comes back, he charges forward and launches himself through the ropes and to the floor, knocking PGJr down with the KTFO~!
Kris Cruise: Hardaway got all of it this time!
Stephy Auger: Unlike all those years ago, when Gordon, Jr thought it was a great idea to block a suicide dive with a headbutt. How did that become an iconic moment again?
Kris Cruise: What is wrong with you today?
Stephy Auger: … I’m fine...
PGJr is sprawled out on the floor as Hardaway rolls back into the ring. But as Hardaway goes to get up off his knee, he’s quickly met with a punt kick to the ribs from Savannah, which knocks him back down. Savannah reaches down, picks up Hardaway, places him in a side headlock and rakes his face along the top rope. She then reapplies the side headlock and rakes his face across another set of ropes. Once Hardaway lets go, he staggers into a nearby corner. As Savannah approaches from behind, Hardaway doubles her over with a back kick to the midsection.
CROWD: TEN!… NINE!… EIGHT!… SEVEN!… SIX!… FIVE!… FOUR!… THREE!… TWO!… ONE!..
[BUZZER SOUNDS!]
#11 - The sound of an organ plays throughout the arena, capturing the attention of every fan in the crowd and every grapplers in the ring.
Stephy Auger: No way! It’s not him! Is it? IS IT!?
They all turn their attention to the entrance way, preparing for the man that’s about to walk out.
Kris Cruise: That’s… that’s… THAT’S CHANDLER SCOTT’S MUSIC!
As "Perfect Strangers" by Deep Purple kicks in, the crowd begins to cheer wildly. The camera dolly slowly rolls up towards the curtain. At around the 30 second mark...
