The scene opens up at the Lion’s Den Training Facility. Mercy had just completed some training, looking a bit sweaty but still looking effortlessly pretty. She wore a black training halter bra that accentuated her ample chest and patterned black and white tights with nike free runs. She placed a hooded jacket wrapped around her waist now sitting upon the apron in front of the camera setup. Mercy picked up her water-bottle to clench her thirst and clear her throat before she spoke.
“I’m facing Adam Adonis for the Carolina’s Cup in which will be the biggest match of my career so far. Going into this match I had to look back at the two women who set the benchmark for the coveted cup - The Baroness and Emily Carter; Two women who I see as strong women who I admire their individuality. I don’t want to set myself up and compare myself to the two, because both girls have their own merits. I’m just young and stupid Mercy trying to continue the tradition of LDFC’s winning streak of the Cup.”
Mercy let out a light chuckle in reference to Adam’s words about her of being ‘young and stupid’. She agreed with him, since she is the rookie in this match, compared to the more experienced Adonis.
“First off, the man I’m facing, Adam Adonis who is no stranger to the square circle. He has seven years experience under his belt, learning the amazing Lucha Libre style. Whereas my only cultural experience is back in my home country of Australia where it’s hard to break even. Also I don’t have countless years of experience under my belt, since I’m still relatively new around here. These points on paper have already have me at a disadvantage going into this bout. "
Mercy paused to sigh to herself thinking about how lesser she is compared to Adonis. It was something she needed to deal with if she wanted to go into this match.
“But I can’t sell myself short, allowing myself to doubt my abilities and chances. There is so much on my shoulders. This is all on me if I can continue that winning streak for LDFC and follow in the footsteps of Carter and Baroness. "
Mercy tapped her chin after a brief moment of thought. “But I have to look at this way. At the last Pride I overcame the Old North Champion, Skylar Cloud in a non-title match. I ended the winning streak of such a resourceful champion like Skylar. I do have the tools to take a win out from under someone and now I need to do is continue with my momentum.”
Mercy took another sip of her water, placing it beside her. Mercy rested her forearms on her thighs for a moment, then brushing the few strands of hair away from her face.
I went ahead and watched tapes of Adam, understanding his style and his method of the game. I have to admit, this man is an opportunist, taking gain of a situation that would help him in the long run. He's not afraid to use weaponry to weaken his opponent and he's proven that fact. He’s had a taste of gold, earning the SSWA Rising Star Championship. That’s something I haven’t yet experienced; holding that championship gold. I can see why HKW has selected him as their representative, he has that credibility to win that Carolina’s Cup for them. But on his own accord, he has decided to win this cup not for HKW but for himself as only a personal gain. That matter could play certain factor in the result. He’s made this cup more about himself, rather the integrity of honouring said company. From what I learned growing up is to not disregard the roots of what has made you the person you are today.
Mercy softly smiled to herself in a proud manner. Mercy took this opportunity of representing LDFC in high regard.
“Adam may as well be the most strongest opponent physically and mentally I will face in the ring. He was outsmarted me by not taking the typical ‘I’m just boobs’ route. So I must commend him with that one, so thank you.” Mercy bowed her head graciously.
“I will go into this match with everything I’ve learned so far. My guts and resilience will be my motivation to come out the winner of this contest. I’m determined to keep that streak alive for LDFC. I will not let you guys down.”
Mercy balled her fist and patted her chest to amp her up. “Mercy in for the Kill.”
