FGA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
(c) Chandler Scott vs. Zero McHannon
“This Means War” by Avenged Sevenfold hits the speakers. The music picks up a little bit, but eventually slows back down and to a complete stop after half a minute. The bass hits again, this time it lights up the top of the ramp in a bright white light as Zero McHannon walks through the curtain with his manager, Gambino, walking out shortly after him.
“Hide my face again, habor in the shadows,
Feel this weight of sin, hammering away...
DIEEE!! With the guilt of a thousand AWOL soldiers,
DIEEE!! Watch the scythe usher me astray…”
Gambino is standing on one side of the ramp, trying to pump the crowd up as Zero makes his way down the rampway. He reaches out to his right, letting the fans reach over the barrier to touch him, then he does the same with his left. Zero makes his way to the bottom, touches the ring post, and slides into the ring on the side. He instantly bounces to his feet after sliding in, while Gambino takes the steps to the ring.
“I can’t go on this way,
Not as I am today,
The ugly side of me is strong....
Take aim a loaded gun,
Pulls back on all who run,
A coward’s truth inside the wrong...”
Zero McHannon climbs the nearest turnbuckle spread his arms and begins to yell towards the crowd as they do their best to cheer over him. He freezes for a moment, taking in the atmosphere, then hops from the corner ropes, and tests the mat under his feet. He is talking to himself as he crosses the ring and stands up on this turnbuckle, pointing to the crowd, and slapping himself in the chest. Finally, he hops down and meets up with his manager in the middle of the ring.
THIS MEANS WARRRR!!!
In the middle of the ring, his manager gives Zero some hard taps in the head, trying to psych him up for the match ahead. Once it seems like he is ready, he goes to his corner to wait for the start of the match, stretching himself out at the turnbuckle.
Kris Cruise: This is the moment that Zero McHannon has been waiting over six months for since his return to wrestling. That is to once again become a World Champion. But that isn’t going to be an easy task at all.
Stephy Auger: Zero knows it. He knows that outside of Gambino, he’s pretty much going into this match alone. Everyone thinks Chandler’s got this in the back. Everyone thinks that Zero beating him is nearly impossible. But Chandler’s human. He is beatable and if anyone can do it, it’s Zero McHannon.
The sound of an organ plays throughout the arena, capturing the attention of all the fans in the crowd. They all turn their attention to the entrance way, preparing for the man that’s about to walk out. As "Perfect Strangers" by Deep Purple kicks in, the crowd begins to boo, jeer and heckle loudly. The camera dolly slowly rolls up towards the curtain. At around the 30 second mark, Chandler Scott pushes through the curtain as the crowd really begins to let him have it. Chandler looks over and can be seen mouthing at the camera while he points an accusatory finger at it. He then turns his attention towards the ring as he thrusts his arms in the air, resulting in another round of loud boos from the crowd.
Chandler keeps his index fingers in the air, letting everyone know who is truly "number one” around this joint. He keeps a smug look planted on his face as he swaggers down to the ring. After climbing up onto the apron, Chandler steps through the ropes, climbs up onto the second ropes and slowly raises his fists in the air as he absorbs the crowd's disdain for him. After stepping down to the canvas, he can be seen arguing with some fans in the front row.
Kris Cruise: Chandler Scott’s been World Champion since February of this year and he hasn’t looked back since. The list of grapplers that he’s defeated are all-stars and champions. He even holds a victory over the man that’s standing across the ring from him. But will tonight be the tonight that Chandler is finally dethroned.
Stephy Auger: It might be. But it might not be. Over the past year or so, Chandler hasn’t fought down to his competition. Instead, he’d brought them up to his level, making them give him his best fight possible. As you’ve said, the list of names that he’s beaten can headline any pay per view anywhere. At the same time, he cannot let his success go to his head. he can’t just assume that he’s got another win in the bag. Zero has come too far and has worked for too long to come away empty handed.
Kris Cruise: … and now, let’s send it over to J.A. Aldridge for the introductions.
The bell sounds.

The bell sounds as Chandler and Zero make their way to the center of the ring. The two men stare each down down. Neither man flinches an inch. Neither man is willing to back down from the other. The crowd is at a fever pitch.
Right Side of the Crowd: LET’S GO ZERO!

Right Side of the Crowd: LET’S GO ZERO!
Left Side of the Crowd: FUCK YOU, CHANDLER!
Right Side of the Crowd: LET’S GO ZERO!
Left Side of the Crowd: FUCK YOU, CHANDLER!
The vocal crowd brings a smirk to Zero’s face. The current number one contender has felt that he’s been walking this road alone. He figured that everyone counted him out. But knowing that this New York City crowd is firmly behind him is one hell of a feeling. On the flipside, Chandler narrows his eyes at the chants. He then motions to turn away from Zero, only to turn back and go for a sucker punch. But Zero blocks and counters with a right hand, causing the crowd to explode with cheers after the first strike’s been thrown. Chandler goes for another punch. But Zero blocks and counters with another right hand. He then nails Chandler with another right hand… and another… and another. The next right hand knocks Chandler down to the canvas, resulting in cheers from the crowd. As the World Champ makes his way back to his feet, Zero moves him into the corner before unleashing a series of knife edge chops that echo throughout the arena. He then takes Chandler and goes for an irish whip. But Chandler reverses, sending Zero into the opposite corner. But Zero ricochets out of the corner and knocks down Chandler with a clothesline. Chandler gets back to his feet, but Zero knocks him down with another clothesline. Chandler returns to his feet, but he quickly loses his balance and starts to stumble back. Zero sees this, so he charges forward and connects with another clothesline, sending Chandler over the top rope and crashing to the floor. The crowd cheers as Chandler’s sprawled out on the floor.
Kris Cruise: Zero McHannon wins the early exchange as he sends Chandler out of the ring!
As Chandler gets up on the floor, Zero heads out onto the apron. When Chandler turns around, Zero runs along the apron, hops off and brings him down with a vertical press. He then mounts himself on top of Chandler and hammers away with right hands to the face. Zero gets off of Chandler, pulls him up, slams him face first onto the apron and rolls him back into the ring. After rolling himself back into the ring, Chandler begins to scoot away from Zero. After Chandler gets up to his feet, he backs himself into the corner as he tries to calm Zero down. But Zero wants to hear none of it. As Zero heads into the corner, Chandler rakes him across the eyes, resulting in boos from the crowd. He then switches positions and moves Zero into the corner. From there, Chandler unleashes a series of knife edge chops of his own. He then brings Zero from out of the corner and goes for an irish whip. But Zero reverses, sending Chandler into the ropes. When Chandler comes back, Zero throws him down with a back body drop. The crowd cheers as Chandler sits up and arches his back. But Zero goes over, kicks him down with a boot to the face and makes the cover.

Kris Cruise: Another nearfall for McHannon, who has been in control of this one since the opening bell.
Stephy Auger: He has. Chandler needs to do something before Zero runs away with this one.
Zero brings Chandler back to his feet and delivers an arm wrench, causing the champ to cringe in pain. After Chandler refuses to submit, Zero delivers another arm wrench before trying to yank the arm from out of its socket. The ref checks in and asks Chandler if he wants to give up. But again, Chandler refuses to quit. So Zero slowly delivers another arm wrench. Once completed, Zero delivers a clubbing shot to the arm. Chandler drops down to one knee as he groans in pain. The ref kneels down and asks Chandler if he wants to give up. But Chandler shakes his head from side to side, refusing to give up. After he gets back up to a vertical base, Chandler rolls forward, leans back, kips up and reverses into an arm wrench of his own. But Zero quickly reaches over and reverses back into his own arm wrench. Chandler then rolls forward, spins over onto his knees, flips over with a headstand and reverses into another arm wrench. But Zero quickly reaches over and reverses back into an arm wrench of his own. Chandler then stomps on Zero’s foot before reversing into an arm wrench. But Zero is quick to reach over, reverse back into an arm wrench of his own. He then yanks Chandler over towards him, lifts him up and brings him down with a Side Effect. Kris Cruise: Zero’s been a step ahead of Chandler since the start of this one. That has to make the Champion angry.
Stephy Auger: It’s got to frustrate Chandler. He’s usually the one that’s a step ahead. He’s usually the one that psyching his opponents out. But the usual tricks have not worked on Zero McHannon.
Zero picks up Chandler and whips him into the ropes. When Chandler comes back, Zero goes for another back body drop. But Chandler slips down from behind. After Chandler wraps his arms around his waist, Zero runs forward, hooks his arms under the top rope and then jerks back, sending Chandler down to the canvas. After Chandler rolls back and gets up to his feet, Zero runs over and throws out a clothesline. But Chandler ducks, swings around Zero from behind, hoists him up and throws him down with a waist lock.
Chandler keeps his arms wrapped around Zero as he tries to keep his challenger on the mat. Zero is slowly able to fight his way back up to his feet. He reaches back with his left arm and elbows Chandler in the face three times. But Chandler doesn’t break the hold. Instead, Chandler hoists up Zero and throws him back down to the canvas with another waist lock takedown. He quickly spins on Zero’s back and transitions into a front facelock. The ref asks Zero if he wants to give up. But Zero refuses to quit. So Chandler cinches in the hold, causing Zero to groan in pain.
Kris Cruise: Chandler now trying to ground McHannon and that may be Chandler’s best chance at a victory right now.
Stephy Auger: He wasn’t able to go toe to toe with McHannon when it came to striking. So maybe putting McHannon on the ground and keeping him there will help turn the tide.
Zero tries to push himself up off the canvas. But Chandler brings him down to the left with a Gator Roll. Zero tries to get back to a vertical base. But Chandler brings him down to the right with another Gator Roll. Chandler continues to tighten the hold as Zero groans in pain. After Chandler slowly brings him back to his feet, Chandler lets go of the hold. He then delivers a knee to the midsection, snapmares Zero to the canvas and follows up with a rolling neck snap. The crowd boos as he makes the cover.

Chandler takes Zero and places him in a figure four necklock.
Kris Cruise: Chandler Scott with yet another submission hold. Zero McHannon may have controlled the early portion of this match. But since taking things to the mat, it’s been all Chandler Scott.
Stephy Auger: Chandler’s keeping Zero grounded, as well as wearing him down with these submission holds. He could be setting him up for any number of his finishers. But one thing is for certain. The change in strategy has swung the momentum over in his favor.
The ref asks Zero if he wants to give up. But Zero refuses to quit. So Chandler cinches the hold, causing Zero to let out a groan. After a few seconds have passed, the ref kneels back down and asks Zero if he wants to give up. But Zero still refuses to quit. He then reaches out and grabs a hold of Chandler’s legs. After shifting around on the canvas, Zero’s able to turn himself from a supine position and into a prone position, lying flat on his stomach. After getting up onto his knees, he slowly places his feet down on the canvas. After grabbing a hold of Chandler, Zero lets out a loud groan as he strains himself. He slowly pulls Chandler up off the canvas… and throws him down with a powerslam, resulting in cheers from the crowd. Zero stumbles back into the ropes while Chandler arches his back on the mat.
Kris Cruise: Zero powered out of that submission and nearly slammed Chandler right through the mat!
Zero makes his way back over to Chandler and lifts up his legs. He looks around at the crowd as they cheer him on. Zero then nods his head in agreement before turning Chandler over into a Boston Crab. Chandler can be seen cringing in pain as the crowd cheers. The ref asks him if he wants to give up. But Chandler frantically shakes his head, refuses to quit. So Zero pulls back, forcing Chandler to let out a groan. The ref checks in on Chandler and asks him if he wants to give up. But again, Chandler refuses to give up. He then begins to pull himself across the canvas. But Zero squats down even further, making it difficult for Chandler to move. Chandler lets out another groan as he continues to scratch and pull his way across the canvas. He reaches out… and grabs the bottom rope. The crowd boos as the ref gives Zero until the count of five to break the hold.

Zero reaches over, pulls him off the ropes and rocks him with another right hand that sends him back into the ropes. While Chandler appears dazed, Zero turns and runs into the far ropes. When he comes back, Chandler side steps, grabs Zero by the back of the neck and tosses him over the top rope…
… but he lands safely on the apron. So Chandler goes over to attack. But Zero ducks and counters with a shoulder thrust through the ropes. He then grabs Chandler and goes for a vertical suplex to the outside. But Chandler blocks the move. So Zero tightens his grip and goes for another vertical suplex attempt. But again, Chandler blocks the move. Chandler then tries to suplex him back into the ring. But Zero flutter kicks his legs, causing Chandler to bring him back down. Zero then steps up onto the middle ropes, grabs Chandler and delivers a superplex to the floor. The crowd explodes in cheers as Chandler’s back lands hard on the floor.

Chandler breaks the hold. But Zero is able to beat him to his feet and makes him pay. The challenger begins stomping the hell out of Chandler’s chest before dropping down knees to the head. Zero then reaches down, yanks Chandler up from off the canvas and lifts him up onto his shoulders. Zero’s setting up for a fireman’s carry gutbuster. But Chandler repeatedly elbows him in the side of the head. After slipping down from behind, he quickly applies a cobra clutch.
Kris Cruise: Chandler with the Cobra Clutch!
Stephy Auger: He’s trying to put away Zero right here!
The crowd boos as Chandler cinches the hold, causing Zero to cringe in pain. Zero’s trying to fight his way out of the move. But Chandler’s got it locked on. The ref asks Zero if he wants to give up. But Zero refuses to quit. So Chandler begins to swing Zero right and left, hoping that the added pressure will get Zero to submit. But it doesn’t. So he then hooks his right leg around Zero’s left and goes for a cobra clutch legsweep. But Zero’s fights it off. After unhooking his leg, Chandler goes for another cobra clutch legsweep. But again, Zero fights it off. After unhooking his leg, Chandler uses all of his might to hurl Zero over his head, delivering a cobra clutch suplex to boos from the crowd.
Kris Cruise: Zero just got dropped right on his head with that suplex!
Instead of going for the cover, Chandler turns over and smiles at the sight of Zero clutching his head. After making his way back up to his feet, Chandler can be heard telling Zero repeatedly to “get his ass up!” As Zero pushes himself up off the apron, Chandler kicks him in the head before motioning for him to get up. As Zero gets up on all fours, Chandler kicks him in the head again before motioning for him to get up. Just as Zero’s about to get back to a vertical base, Chandler rushes to the side, then thrusts forward, knocking Zero down with a knee trembler to the side of the head. Chandler reaches down, slowly picks Zero up off the canvas and nails him with a European Uppercut. He then dazes Zero with another European Uppercut that staggers him. He then takes Zero and whips him into the corner. Chandler charges into the corner and connects with a European Uppercut. He then takes Zero and whips him into the opposite corner. Zero picks up Chandler and lifts him up for an Olympic Slam. But Chandler slips down from behind. After spinning Zero around, Chandler kicks him in the midsection and plants him with a Snap DDT. He then picks up Zero, brings him over towards the corner and delivers a snap suplex into the turnbuckles. Chandler gets up, grabs the top turnbuckle pad and unties it from around the turnbuckle.
Kris Cruise: What is he doing? He can’t do that! He needs to put that pad back on!
Chandler rips off the pad, exposing the steel turnbuckle underneath. The ref yells at Chandler to put the pad back. Chandler responds by waving the pad in his face… and then chucking it to the outside. Chandler kneels down in the corner and unties the turnbuckle pad from around the middle turnbuckle. Once the top two turnbuckles have been exposed, Chandler picks up Zero and pulls him back over towards the corner. The crowd boos as he sets up Zero for a snap suplex. But Zero blocks it. Zero turns to his side while keeping the hold applied. Chandler then shifts his weight back down onto Zero again, pinning him.

Zero shifts himself to his left while keeping the hold applied.
Kris Cruise: Zero’s not letting go! He’ll keep that hold applied all night if he has to!
Zero cinches in the hold, bringing Chandler down to his knees. The ref asks Chandler if he wants to give up. But Chandler refuses to quit. Chandler can be heard moaning and groaning in pain as Zero pulls with all his might. Chandler’s trying to fight through it. He’s trying to fight through the pain. But Zero’s keeping Closed Curtain locked on tight. Chandler raises his hand up… and repeatedly slaps Zero’s thigh to an explosion of cheers. The ref calls for the bell.
Kris Cruise: CHANDLER TAPPED! CHANDLER TAPPED! WE’VE GOT A NEW CHAMPION!
Stephy Auger: NO WAY!
“This Means War” blasts over the PA as the crowd explodes into cheers.
J.A. Aldridge Here is your winner… and now, the NEEEEEEEEEEW… FGA World Champion, ZERO MCHA-
J.A. Aldridge stops his announcement as Chandler snatches the World Championship away from the referee. He can be seen shouting “NO!” over and over again. The crowd immediately begins booing the hell out of the former champion for protesting this decision.
Kris Cruise: What is he doing!? The match is over and done with!
Chandler heads into the corner. He slowly slumps down in the corner as he cradles the World Championship in his arms. He then looks over at an exhausted McHannon, who has finally gotten back to his feet. The sight of Zero causes Chandler’s nostrils to flare. He then reaches up and pulls himself back to his feet.
Stephy Auger: This can’t be good, Kris...
Chandler makes his way over towards Zero with belt in hand. Chandler looks at the belt, then back at Zero, then back at the belt, then back at Zero, then back at the belt. Chandler’s arm trembles as he takes the belt… and slowly lays it across Zero’s shoulder to a surprising amount of cheers from the crowd. He then backs away from Zero and gives him three slow claps. As Chandler turns to exit the ring, McHannon goes over and grabs him by the arm. The action stops Chandler dead in his tracks.
Chandler looks down at Zero’s hand, then back up at his face. Zero looks Chandler right in the eyes… before raising his arm in the air, resulting cheers and a smattering of boos from the crowd. Chandler then lowers his arm before exiting the ring. The now former FGA World Champion leaves the ring dejected with his hands on hips hips as he makes his way up the aisle. Back in the ring, Zero slowly takes the World Championship from off his shoulder. As he holds it up in front of him, it finally hits him. He won. He did what many thought was the unthinkable. Zero then collapses to his knees. Tears roll down his face as he clutches the World Championship belt. Gambino then gets in the ring and gives his boy several pats on the back. Zero gets back to his feet and hugs Beano for dear life. Beano then raises Zero’s hand as he crowd is in their feet. “This Means War” blasts over the PA as the crowd cheers on its new World Champion. McHannon heads into every corner, climbs up onto the middle ropes and raises the World Championship belt over his head as the crowd continues to give him a standing ovation...
