Chandler Scott & Zero McHannon vs. Whiskey Dex
Chandler Scott & Zero McHannon vs. Whiskey Dex
“Pool of Booze, Booze, Booza” hits over the loudspeakers, the lights dimmed somewhat as the opening guitars kick in. When the verse begins, Dexter Jacobs steps out from the entryway, with Whiskey Ayano following just behind. The two share a glance before Whiskey produces a bottle of hard liquor and a lighter. She takes a swig and holds up the lighter, creating a large gout of flame as she spits it out into the air. Dex merely shakes his head, rolling his eyes at the display before cracking his neck and heading down to the ring, Whiskey taking a moment to pose before coming down as well.
J.A. Aldridge: The following contest is scheduled for one fall and it is your main event of the evening! Introducing first, weighing in at a total combined weight of 421 pounds! They are the reigning FGA World Tag Team Champions! They are the team of Whiskey Ayano… Dexter Jacobs… WHISKEY DEX!
Dex slides in and immediately heads to the corner, where he mounts the turnbuckles and raises a fist in the air as Whiskey follows suit, leaning on the ropes near him and taking another swig. She offers a pull to Dex as he hops down off the ropes, and depending on his mood, he’ll either accept and take a swig or brush her off before the two take a moment to prepare before the match begins.
Kris Cruise: We figured that this match would be a heck of a test for them before they head into battle against the #sparklebuddies at Final Frontier. But now, we don’t even know what to make of that match.
Stephy Auger: Laurel Anne Hardy had enough of seeing her friends at each other's throats and stormed out of the building. We still don’t know what that means going forward for this match at Final Frontier. Is she going to show up? Is Annie Zellor going to go it alone? Will she have a new partner? No one really knows. But as much as that’s bad news for Annie Zellor, it’s nothing but good news for Whiskey Dex, who desperately want to finish this business with the #sparklebuddies and put it behind them once and for all.
“This Means War” by Avenged Sevenfold hits the speakers. The music picks up a little bit, but eventually slows back down and to a complete stop after half a minute. The bass hits again, this time it lights up the top of the ramp in a bright white light as Zero McHannon walks through the curtain with his manager, Gambino, walking out shortly after him.
“Hide my face again, habor in the shadows,
Feel this weight of sin, hammering away...
DIEEE!! With the guilt of a thousand AWOL soldiers,
DIEEE!! Watch the scythe usher me astray…”
Feel this weight of sin, hammering away...
DIEEE!! With the guilt of a thousand AWOL soldiers,
DIEEE!! Watch the scythe usher me astray…”
Gambino is standing on one side of the ramp, trying to pump the crowd up as Zero makes his way down the rampway. He reaches out to his right, letting the fans reach over the barrier to touch him, then he does the same with his left. Zero makes his way to the bottom, touches the ring post, and slides into the ring on the side. He instantly bounces to his feet after sliding in, while Gambino takes the steps to the ring.
J.A. Aldridge: And their opponents! Introducing first, being accompanied to the ring by Gambino! Now residing out of Long Island, New York! Weighing in at 210 pounds… ZERO MCHANNON!
“I can’t go on this way,
Not as I am today,
The ugly side of me is strong....
Take aim a loaded gun,
Pulls back on all who run,
A coward’s truth inside the wrong...”
Not as I am today,
The ugly side of me is strong....
Take aim a loaded gun,
Pulls back on all who run,
A coward’s truth inside the wrong...”
Zero McHannon climbs the nearest turnbuckle spread his arms and begins to yell towards the crowd as they do their best to cheer over him. He freezes for a moment, taking in the atmosphere, then hops from the corner ropes, and tests the mat under his feet. He is talking to himself as he crosses the ring and stands up on this turnbuckle, pointing to the crowd, and slapping himself in the chest. Finally, he hops down and meets up with his manager in the middle of the ring.
THIS MEANS WARRRR!!!
In the middle of the ring, his manager gives Zero some hard taps in the head, trying to psych him up for the match ahead. Once it seems like he is ready, he goes to his corner to wait for the start of the match, stretching himself out at the turnbuckle.
Kris Cruise: Going into tonight, Zero McHannon and Chandler Scott said all the right things. But as we saw in the opening to Vertigo, there’s definitely tension between these two.
Stephy Auger: How could there not be? These two will be going head to head over the FGA World Championship in two weeks. Now they’re being forced to team up against each other. I’m not surprised at the tension that’s there. But if they want to make it out of this ring in one piece, they need to get on the same page or else Whiskey Dex will run through them like they’ve run through every other tag team they've faced.
The sound of an organ plays throughout the arena, capturing the attention of all the fans in the crowd. They all turn their attention to the entrance way, preparing for the man that’s about to walk out. As "Perfect Strangers" by Deep Purple kicks in, the crowd begins to boo, jeer and heckle loudly. The camera dolly slowly rolls up towards the curtain. At around the 30 second mark, Chandler Scott pushes through the curtain as the crowd really begins to let him have it. Chandler looks over and can be seen mouthing at the camera while he points an accusatory finger at it. He then turns his attention towards the ring as he thrusts his arms in the air, resulting in another round of loud boos from the crowd.
J.A Aldridge: And his partner, from Hyannis, Massachusetts! Weighing in at 228 pounds! He is the reigning FGA World Champion… CHANDLER SCOTT!
Chandler keeps his index fingers in the air, letting everyone know who is truly "number one” around this joint. He keeps a smug look planted on his face as he swaggers down to the ring. After climbing up onto the apron, Chandler steps through the ropes, climbs up onto the second ropes and slowly raises his fists in the air as he absorbs the crowd's disdain for him. After stepping down to the canvas, he can be seen arguing with some fans in the front row.
Kris Cruise: Chandler Scott didn’t mince words earlier today, telling Zero McHannon exactly how he felt.
Stephy Auger: Chandler’s always been arrogant. But he needs to reel it back and actually work with Zero if the two of them want to win. Whiskey Dex is pound for pound one of the best tag teams, if not the best tag team going today. That wasn’t a moniker they gave themselves. It was earned after months of defeating the competition and if Chandler and Zero don’t get on the same page, then that’ll be two more names Whiskey and Dexter get to add to their list.
The bell sounds as Chandler and Dexter start things off by circling the ring. After sizing each other up, they head towards the center of the ring and lock up. After an initial struggle, Dexter shoves Chandler, sending him stumbling back into the ropes to cheers from the crowd. Chandler quickly does a double take, having been taken aback by Dexter’s strength. He then rubs the back of his neck before making his way off the ropes. He then begins to circle around Dexter before zeroing in. Chandler lunges forward and engages in another collar & elbow tie up. After jockeying for position, Dexter shoves Chandler down to the canvas. Chandler quits sits up and slaps the canvas out of frustration before looking over at Dexter. He sneers at the sight of the co-holder to the Tag Titles before rising back to his feet.
Kris Cruise: Chandler’s not going to win a test of strength against Dexter Jacobs. In fact, I can’t think of many men that could match Dex in that category.
Both men then begin circling the ring before locking up. After jockeying for position, Dexter uses his strength advantage to move Chandler across the ring. After pressing Chandler against the turnbuckles, the ref scurries over and gives both men until the count of five to break the hold.
Ref: ONE… TWO… THREE… FOUR…
Both men make the clean break. Just then, Dexter takes a wild swipe at Chandler. But Chandler luckily ducks and scurries out of the corner.
Stephy Auger: Chandler’s lucky his head is still attached to the rest of his body!
Dexter makes his way from out of the corner and locks up with Chandler. After jockeying for position, Dexter again uses his strength advantage to move Chandler across the ring. After pressing Chandler against the ropes, the ref calls for both men to break it up by the count of five. Once the count reaches “four,” both men make a clean break. Dexter then takes another swipe at Chandler. But again, Chandler ducks and moves out of the way. When Dexter turns to face Chandler, Chandler delivers a hard slap across the face. The slap results in boos from the crowd.
Kris Cruise: Oh boy...
Stephy Auger: .... that was not a good idea, Chandler...
Dexter slowly turns back to Chandler. His jaws are clenched while his eyes burn a hole through the World Champion. Chandler immediately begins to backpedal. He places his hands in front of him as he tries to reason with Dexter. But Dexter’s no longer in a talking mood. Chandler then tries to throw a sucker punch, but Dexter blocks it and knocks Chandler down with a right hand. Chandler gets back up, but Dexter knocks him back down with another right hand to cheers from the crowd. After Chandler returns to his feet, Dexter takes Chandler and whips him into the ropes. When Chandler comes back, Dexter duck and dumps Chandler onto his back with a back body drop.
Dexter yanks up Chandler, wrenches his arm, drags him over towards the Whiskey Dex corner and tags in Whiskey Ayano to a roar of cheers. When Whiskey comes in, she delivers a stiff kick to the midsection, doubling Chandler over. She then wrenches Chandler’s arm before tagging Dexter back in. As soon as Dexter gets in, he delivers a hard clubbing shot across Chandler’s back. He then takes Chandler by the arm, wrenches it and tags Whiskey back in. Whiskey immediately scales the turnbuckles, dives off and knocks Chandler down with a flying double ax handle. She makes the cover.

Chandler kicks out.
Kris Cruise: Whiskey Dex showing exactly why they are the reigning tag team champions. Look at the isolation, the quick tags, the chemistry.
Stephy Auger: Chandler needs to get out of that corner and quick.
Whiskey picks up Chandler, wrenches his arm and then moves him into the ropes before whipping him into the far ropes. When Chandler comes back, Whiskey drops onto her stomach. So Chandler goes over her before running into the far ropes. When he comes back, Whiskey leap frogs over him. Chandler then continues running into the ropes. When he comes back, Whiskey throws him down with an arm drag. Chandler returns to his feet, but Whiskey returns him to the mat with a Japanese arm drag as the crowd cheers. Chandler turns over and gets back to his feet, but Whiskey throws him down with another arm drag and quickly transitioning into an arm bar.
The ref asks Chandler if he wants to give up. But Chandler shakes his head, refusing to quit. After battling his way back to his feet, he takes his free arm and presses his hand against the chin of Whiskey, moving her into the ropes. As he presses her against the ropes, the ref gives her until the count of five to break the hold.
Ref: ONE… TWO… THREE… FOUR…
As Whiskey slowly breaks the hold and raises her arms in the air, Chandler goes for a cheap shot to the midsection. But Whiskey beats him to the punch, knocking Chandler back with a quick forearm strike to the face. The Deep South Dragon makes her way from off the ropes, wrenches Chandler’s arm again and then drags him over towards the Whiskey Dex corner. From there, she tags in Dexter, who gets in and delivers a hard punch to the liver. Chandler immediately stumbles away from Whiskey before dropping to his knees in pain. Chandler reaches out to tag Zero. But he’s nowhere near close to the ropes. But even if he was close, Zero’s demeanor lets Chandler know that he isn’t the least bit interested in tagging in. Not because he’s afraid of mixing it up against Whiskey Dex. But because he wants to see Chandler take a couple of more shots.
Kris Cruise: I don’t think Zero’s showing a lot of compassion for his partner.
Stephy Auger: You’d be hard pressed to find anyone that has any compassion for Chandler Scott.
Dexter takes Chandler by the throat and moves him into the corner. Once there, Dexter reaches back and delivers a hard knife edge chop that echoes throughout the arena. Dexter brings his arm back before blasting Chandler with another stinging chop. He then takes Chandler and whips him into the opposite corner. Dexter charges across the ring, but Chandler nails him with a boot to the face. After staggering back, Dexter rushes back into the corner. This time, Chandler greets him with an elbow to the face. After Dexter’s once again sent staggering back, Dexter shakes off the blow. He then runs right back into the corner. This time, Chandler nails him with a European Uppercut. He then takes Dexter, moves him into the corner and unleashes a series of knife edge chops of his own. He then points his finger at Dexter’s face before slapping him across it. But the slap wakes Dexter up and he immediately storms out of the corner. Chandler, of course, begins to backpedal before turning and slapping Zero across the chest, tagging him in. The crowd boos as Chandler then quickly drops down to the canvas and rolls to the outside.
Kris Cruise: What the heck was that?
Stephy Auger: Looks like Chandler wanted to get one last cheapshot in before tagging out.
Dexter walks over towards the ropes. He looks down at Chandler before shaking his head at him. Chandler, who is favoring his arm, tells Dexter not to worry about him and instead worry about Zero. When Dexter turns to Zero McHannon, Zero carefully steps through the ropes and enters the ring. He then extends his hand as a sign of respect. Dexter looks out at the crowd, then down over at Chandler before looking at Zero. Dexter carefully shakes Zero’s hand. But Dexter gives it a good squeeze, letting Zero know that he means business. As Dexter goes to step back, Zero pulls Dexter close to him and stares him dead in the eyes. But Dexter’s not the least bit intimidated.
Stephy Auger: Business is about to pick up here, Kris.
Zero lets go of Dexter’s hand before taking a few steps back. Dexter then nods as he circles the ring. The two men begin to inch towards each other before locking up. After jockeying for position, Zero places Dexter in a side headlock. But Dexter’s quick to shove Zero off of him and into the ropes. When Zero comes back, Dexter knocks him down with a standing shoulder block. Zero rolls away from Zero before returning back to his feet. He then begins to circling the ring before moving in on Dexter. The two lock up before Dex uses his strength advantage to move Zero into the corner. After both men make the clean break, Dexter takes a swipe at Zero. But Zero ducks. When Dex turns around, Zero nails him with a series of right hands. He then takes Dex and goes for an irish whip. But Dex reverses, sending Zero into the opposite corner. Dex then runs across the ring. But before he can hit Zero in the corner, Zero runs from out of the corner and connects with a clothesline. But Zero only stumbles back. So Zero turns and runs into the ropes. When Zero comes back, he nails Dex with another clothesline. But again, Dex only stumbles back. So Zero turns and runs back into the ropes. When Zero comes back, Dex knocks him down with a back elbow. He makes the cover.

But the momentary lapse in concentration allows for Whiskey to ram Zero back-first into the corner. After a series of shoulder thrusts, she grabs Zero and irish whips him into the opposite corner. Whiskey then runs across the ring, but Zero nails her with a European Uppercut. As Whiskey stumbles back, Zero leaps from out of the corner and goes for a diving forearm strike. But Whiskey countess by bringing him down and locking on a Fujiwara Armbar.
Kris Cruise: What a counter by Whiskey!
The crowd cheers as Whiskey continues to pull back on the arm. But the cheers turn to boos as Chandler comes in and delivers a stomp to the head, breaking the hold. After Chandler heads back out onto the apron, he calls for Zero to tag him in. But instead of tagging him in, Zero ignores him and goes back to Whiskey. When Zero the stops and turns to Chandler, Whiskey comes up from behind, wraps her arm around his waist and delivers a German Suplex. She then turns over and makes the cover. But Zero’s no longer the legal man. When Whiskey realizes this, it’s too late as Chandler delivers a jumping knee drop across the back of the neck. "This Means War" blasts over the PA to an explosion of cheers.
J.A. Aldridge: Here are your winners, ZERO MCHANNON and CHANDLER SCOTT!
Zero gets his arm raised as the crowd continues to cheer.
Kris Cruise: Zero McHannon and Chandler Scott pull off the huge upset as they defeat Whiskey Ayano and Dexter Jacobs here tonight.
Stephy Auger: Whiskey Dex really controlled things during several points in the match. And for a while, it looked like Zero and Chandler weren't even on the same page. But when they did get on the same page, things started to turn their way. It did look like Whiskey Dex was going to put another mark in the win column. But in the end, Zero and Chandler were able to squeak out the win. This was a close one. If these two sides faced off again, I wouldn't bet against the World Tag Team Champions.
After Whiskey and Dexter give Zero a nod of respect and vice versa, the FGA World Tag Team Champs exit the ring while Chandler enters back in from the other. The World Champion looks over at his number one contender, who once again extends his hand.
Kris Cruise: Zero's still looking for that handshake from earlier tonight.
Chandler looks out at the crowd, then back at Zero. After huffing and puffing, he begrudgingly shakes Zero's hand. But as Zero goes to walk away, Chandler yanks him back over towards him. He then kicks Zero in the midsection, lifts him up and plants him with the DNA Driver.
What the hell was that for?
The crowd erupts into boos as Chandler stands over Zero. He then mockingly extends his hand for a handshake before stepping out of the ring.
Kris Cruise: All the man wanted was a show of respect. But I guess Chandler Scott couldn't even put his ego to the side for one night!
Stephy Auger: We should've known better...
The crowd continues to boo as Chandler walks backwards up the ramp, holding his World Championship belt in the air for all to see.
