MID-ATLANTIC LEGACY CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
(c) Izzy Anders vs. Fujiko Mine
A contented exhale is followed by a low synth beat. The lights begin a slow descent from their normal colors along with the beginning of the song.
"I’m on my 14 carats…I’m 14 carats…Doing it up like Midas…"“Good For You” by Selena Gomez (Marcus Joseph Trap Remix) rumbles through the arena, and the arena plunges into a deep purple light.
"Now you say I got a touch
So good, so good
Make you never wanna leave
So don't, so don't"The silhouette of a gorgeous woman slowly moves onto the stage. The main beat kicks in, and the all the lights focused on the stage turn white in an instant, the only void being the silhouette.
Kris Cruise: Well, this is a bit unexpected, Ladies and Gentlemen. One can only assume this is Fujiko Mine, but this is very unlike her normal entrance…
Stephy Auger: Well, this is the four year anniversary show. Perhaps she wanted to be a bit flashy?
"'Cause I just wanna look good for you, good for you, uh-huh
I just wanna look good for you, good for you, uh-huh"The lights fade to a more tolerable hue, and there stands one Fujiko Mine, posed with a hip cocked, and her forearms resting over the top of her head. However, she wears a sparkling red dress, with a slit up the left hip. It accentuates her curves perfectly. Her hair is done in an up-do, curls prominent everywhere. Her kickpads match the red dress, sparkling as the light reflects off them.
Stephy Auger: Wow...that is...quite a dress.
J.A. Aldridge: The following contest is scheduled for one fall and it is for the FGA Mid-Atlantic Legacy Championship! Introducing first, now residing out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin! She is “Lady Luck”, FUJIKO MINE!
Fujiko smiles coyly as she saunters to the ring, the beat rumbling through the arena and fueling her confidence. A spotlight follows along, slowly changing colors from purple to pink, and back again.
"I'm on my marquise diamonds
I'm a marquise diamond
Could even make that Tiffany jealous, mhm"As Fujiko reaches the ring. She slowly draws her left hand down to the slit in the dress. She grabs hold...and slowly pulls up something. As she does, the slit follows, and the entire dress comes apart from an invisible zipper. Underneath is a modified version of Fujiko’s normal attire, in red and white. She raises her eyebrows, and then rolls into the ring. Fujiko replicates her pose from the top of the ramp, and then allows the referee to check her kickpads. She keeps a small smile on her lips as she waits for Izzy to arrive.
Kris Cruise: What a better way to cap off this return of hers than with a champion win! On the Four Year Anniversary Show, no less.
Stephy Auger: Fujiko looked great in her last outing against Camellia D. Magna. But she’s got to look even greater as she goes up against her former admirer, Izzy Anders! Izzy wants to hold onto that championship more than ever. Given this shift in attitude in recent weeks, who knows what lengths she’ll go to retain her championship.
In an instance, "Guerrilla Radio" by Rage Against the Machine almost blasts the speakers useless. A light red shade spreads among the crowd. When the overpowering sounds of the song settle only a tad, Izzy makes her way out. She walks out, stepping close to the camera operator. Izzy puts up a boxing stance, throws a few, playful strikes at the camera, and gives the camera a smile before turning back to the ring. She rhythmically makes her way down to the ring, cracking her knuckles. She offers her hands to the audience, slapping any outstretched hands with passion and glee.
J.A. Aldridge: And her opponent, from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada! She is the reigning… defending… Mid-Atlantic Legacy Champion… IZZY ANDERS!
She reaches ringside and proceeds to walk around the whole ring, greeting every fan there. She walks by the commentary team, yelling out at them. "You all ready for this?!" she yells before, getting onto the ring apron. She ascends the top rope, headbanging to the vigorous song. She leaps into the ring, bouncing around, keeping her intensity at an all-time high. Even as she stops moving around the ring, she still opts to bounce about.
Kris Cruise: You noted Izzy’s recent change in attitude. While some have taken exception to it, I can’t say that anyone can fault her. if I was screwed out of a Finals appearance in the Frontier Lions Cup and if I was attacked by some a masked assailant, I’d be feeling ticked off as well.
Stephy Auger: No one’s telling her that she shouldn’t be upset. I’d be upset, too. It’s not just the anger though. It’s the way she refers to and speaks to her fellow grapplers. She’s by no means as nasty as a Tony Carmine or as arrogant as Chandler Scott. I can’t quite put my finger on the right word. But there’s definitely been a noticeable change in her tone, as well. We’ll see if that bleeds into this match here tonight where her championship is up for grabs.
The bell sounds with Fujiko and Izzy in the center of the ring. Despite the tension that’s in the air, Fujiko is willing to extend her hand, calling for a handshake. Izzy looks down at the hand, then back up at Fujiko’s face. After contemplating, she looks back down at the hand, then back up at Fujiko. Izzy turns and looks around at the crowd.
Crowd: SHAKE HER HAND! SHAKE HER HAND! SHAKE HER HAND!
Kris Cruise: This crowd wants to see these two great competitors shake.
Stephy Auger: So do I. But I don’t know if Izzy feels the same. If this were a few months back, Izzy might have gone for a hug. But now? I don’t know...
Izzy slowly turns back to Fujiko… and slowly steps back, leaving Fujiko’s hand out as a few boos can be heard amongst the cheers. Fujiko hangs her head and smirks before mouthing, “alright then…”
Kris Cruise: Izzy just sent a message loud and clear to Fujiko Mine: I don’t need you, your respect or your affection. Well, how about that?
Fujiko steps back before circling the ring. The two grapplers then inch towards each other before locking up. Fujiko quickly gains at the advantage with a side headlock. She then performs a standing switch, transitioning into a hammerlock from behind. Fujiko then spins Izzy around and follows up with an arm drag. She then quickly transitions into an armbar, resulting in some applause from the crowd. The ref asks Izzy if she wants to give up, but Izzy refuses. After turning over onto one knee and getting back to her feet, she rolls forward, leans back, kips up and reverses into an arm wrench of her own. Fujiko is quick to answer back with a cartwheel using her free hand before reversing into another an arm wrench. Izzy then rolls over, turns over onto her knees, flips over with a headstand and reverses into another arm wrench. She then quickly transitions into a hammerlock. After tripping Fujiko down to the mat, Izzy hops on top of her, wraps her arm around Fujiko’s neck and turns her over with a gator roll. Fujiko tries to return to her feet, but Izzy spins in the opposite direction with another gator roll. She then pulls Fujiko up on all fours. Izzy then spins around on her back, wraps her legs around her waist, rolls over onto her back and applies the Boa Constrictor. The crowd cheers as Izzy’s got one of her signature submissions applied within the first few minutes of this match. But Fujiko, still full of energy, is able to scoot over and grab the bottom rope, resulting in a rope break.
Kris Cruise: Some nice mat wrestling there by both grapplers. But Izzy was able to win that round.
Stephy Auger: If we were 15 minutes or so into the match, Fujiko might not have been able to make it to the ropes.
Both grapplers circle the ring before locking up. After jockeying for position, Izzy moves Fujiko into the ropes. But Fujiko is quick to switch positions and presses Izzy up against the ropes. The two continue rolling across the ropes until Izzy presses Fujiko against the turnbuckles. The ref then gives both grapplers until the count of fiv to break the hold.
Ref: ONE… TWO… THREE… FOUR…
Both grapplers make a clean break. But Izzy is quick to catch Fujiko with a forearm strike across the face. She then sizes up Fujiko before nailing her with another forearm to the face. She then takes Fujiko and whips her into the opposite corner. Izzy runs across the ring, but Fujiko nails her with an elbow to the face, sending her stumbling back. While Izzy’s dazed, Fujiko runs from out of the corner and brings her down with a headscissors takeover. As Izzy gets back up to her feet, Fujiko takes off into the ropes. When she comes back, Izzy throws out a clothesline. But Fujiko ducks and runs into the far ropes. When Fujiko comes back, she brings Izzy down with a tilt-a-whirl headscissors takeover. The crowd cheers. Izzy gets back up to her feet, but Fujiko runs over and connects with a dropkick, sending Izzy stumbling back. So Fujiko returns to her feet and runs into the ropes. When Fujiko comes back, Izzy side steps, grabs Fujiko by the hair, runs and tosses her over the top rope…
… but Fujiko hangs onto the top rope. Izzy sees this, so he rushes over to knock Fujiko off the ropes. But before she can, Fujiko pulls herself up, wraps her legs around Izzy’s neck and pulls her over the top rope and to the floor. Fujiko then “skins the cat”, pulling herself over the top rope and back into the ring. The crowd applauds at Fujiko’s display of athleticism. She takes off into the far ropes as Izzy stirs on the outside. When Izzy gets back to her feet, Fujiko rushes forward and knocks her down with a tope con giro!
Kris Cruise: Fujiko takes out Izzy on the outside! The high risk pays off as Izzy Anders just got flattened by that dive!
Fujiko picks up Izzy and rolls her back into the ring. Fujiko then rolls herself back in to make the cover. But Izzy continues rolling, making her way across the ring, underneath the bottom rope and to the floor. A frustrated Izzy walks around ringside with her hands on her hips. But unbeknownst to her, Fujiko has run into the ropes. Out of the corner of Izzy’s eye, she sees Fujiko coming her way. As Izzy turns her attention to her, Fujiko executes a baseball slide into a headscissors takeover. The crowd cheers as Izzy’s once again sent down to the floor.
Kris Cruise: How about that move by Fujiko Mine!
Stephy Auger: Izzy won the battle on the mat. But Fujiko is winning the battle in the air!
Fujiko picks up Izzy and rolls her back into the ring. Fujiko then rolls herself back in before making the cover.

Izzy kicks out.
Fujiko picks up Izzy, moves her into the corner and unleashes a series of knife edge chops. She then takes Izzy and goes for an irish whip. But Izzy reverses, sending Fujiko into the corner. As Izzy runs into the corner, Fujiko goes to stop her with a boot to the face. But Izzy puts on the brakes, catches Fujiko’s foot and then yanks her from out of the corner, sending her crashing back first onto the canvas. as Fujiko sits up, Izzy delivers three shoot kicks to the back. Each kick causes Fujiko to arch her back and cringe in pain.
Izzy reaches down, picks up Fujiko and whips her into the ropes. When Fujiko comes back, Izzy bends over and sets up a back body drop. Fujiko goes to counter with a sunset flip. But Izzy rolls through it and counters with a front dropkick to the face. She then rolls across Fujiko while hooking the leg.

Fujiko gets her shoulder up.
Kris Cruise: Fujiko caught all of that front dropkick to the face. But she was still able to get her shoulder up.
Stephy Auger: A couple more hard shots like that to the face and Fujiko might not get up next time.
Izzy moves Fujiko into the corner and nails her with three forearm strikes to the face. She then takes Fujiko and whips her into the opposite corner. Izzy runs across the ring and connects with a running palm strike. She then takes Fujiko and whips her back into the previous corner. Izzy then runs back across the ring and connects with a running European Uppercut to cheers from the crowd. After dragging a dazed Fujiko from out of the corner by the hair, Izzy sizes her up before throwing out a roundhouse kick. But Fujiko ducks, grabs Izzy from behind and goes for a belly to back suplex. But Izzy rolls over her shoulder, lands on her feet and hooks her arms for a dragon suplex. But Fujiko hooks one of her legs around Izzy’s, blocking the move. Izzy then tries for another dragon suplex. But again, Fujiko blocks the move. So Izzy quickly lets go, places her back against Fujiko’s back, hooks her arms and brings her down with a back slide.

Stephy Auger: Clearly she’s setting up for that 540 Kick of hers.
Izzy sits up Fujiko and applies a rear chinlock. The ref kneels down and asks if Fujiko if she wants to give up. But Fujiko refuses to quit. After turning over onto her knees and battling her way back to her feet, Fujiko nails Izzy with four elbows to the midsection, breaking the hold. She then turns and takes off into the ropes. When Fujiko comes back, Izzy knocks her down with a calf kick. She makes the cover.

Fujiko raises the same arm up to even louder cheers from the crowd.
Izzy then takes the arm and bends it at 90 degrees. After placing Fujiko’s palm against the canvas, Izzy jumps up and delivers a stomp to the elbow. Fujiko immediately rolls over towards the ropes before she clutches her left arm. There’s a scattering of boos that can be heard throughout the crowd.
Kris Cruise: The crowd didn’t take too kindly to that. It’s almost as if Izzy did that out of malice.
Stephy Auger: Or maybe she’s just setting her up for an armbar, right? Right?
As Fujiko pulls herself up using the ropes, Izzy goes over, grabs her left arm and yanks her away from the ropes. She then delivers an armbreaker across the shoulder before delivering an arm wrench. She then delivers several kicks to Fujiko’s chest before knocking her down with a leg sweep. She makes the cover.

Fujiko gets her right shoulder up as the crowd cheers.
Izzy pulls Fujiko up off the canvas by the hair, delivers an arm wrench to the left arm and then drags her over towards the ropes. After stepping stepping through the ropes, Izzy jumps down, delivering The Break Up across the middle rope to the left arm. Fujiko goes down, clutching her left arm. The crowd begins to boo at the sight of Fujiko being hurt. After Izzy rolls back into the ring, she begins to circle Fujiko. As Fujiko sits up on the canvas, Izzy places the sole of her foot on her forehead before nudging her back down. Izzy can be seen mouthing at Fujiko to “stay down”. As Funiko turns over and gets on her knees, Izzy places the sole of her foot on the back of Fujiko’s head and nudges her down. But Fujiko will not stay down. Instead, Fujiko slowly gets back up to her feet and gets right in Izzy’s face. The crowd begins to buzz as it waits for these two to go at it.
Kris Cruise: You can cut this tension with a knife, Stephy!
Stephy Auger: After an intense staredown, Fujiko clocks Izzy with a forearm strike. But Izzy responds with a European Uppercut. Fujiko then delivers another forearm strike. After shaking off the blow, Izzy answers back with another European Uppercut. Fujiko shakes off the blow and comes back with a hard forearm strike. After shaking off the blow, Izzy turns and delivers a palm strike. Before Fujiko can respond, Izzy delivers another palm strike.. and another… and another. Izzy pulls her hand back and goes for another palm strike. But Fujiko ducks and counters with a handstand calf kick (using her right arm). While Izzy staggers back, Fujiko turns and takes off into the ropes. When Fujiko comes back, Izzy brings her down with a Fujiwara Armbar to cheers (and a small section of boos) from the crowd.
Kris Cruise: Izzy’s got the Fujiwar Armbar locked on!
Fujiko groans in pain as Izzy pulls back on the arm. The ref asks Fujiko if she wants to give up. But she feverishly shakes her head, refusing to quit. So Fujiko pulls back some more, increasing the pressure of the hold. Fujiko can be seen tugging at her hair using her free arm.
Stephy Auger: Izzy might rip her arm off if she doesn't tap!
The ref asks Fujiko if she wants to give up. But she still refuses to quit. So Izzy begins to repeatedly pull back on the arm, trying to get Fujiko to tap. And if she doesn't tap, then the arm will be broken and the ref will have no choice but to stop the match.
Kris Cruise: Fujiko’s this close to regaining the championship. She doesn’t want to lose this match, especially like this!
Fujiko tries to block out the pain and crawl her way towards the ropes. She then grits her teeth, fighting through the pain while trying to pull herself towards the ropes. Izzy can be seen shaking her head in disbelief while Fujiko continues to scratch and claw her way towards the ropes. The crowd continues to cheer as it rallies behind the Boob Goddess. Fujiko reaches her free arm out… but she’s not quite there, resulting in sighs from a section of the crowd. Izzy then goes to pull back on the arm as far as she can. Fujiko screams in pain. She raises her hand off of the mat, readying herself to tap. The crowd gasps as they see her hand going down. They think she’s about to tap out. But she doesn’t. Instead, she places the hand down and continues to pull herself towards the ropes.
Kris Cruise: She’s fighting through it, Stephy! She’s pulling and scratching and clawing her way towards those ropes!
Stephy Auger: She’s almost there!
Fujiko reaches out… and grabs the bottom rope to cheers from the crowd. A small section of the crowd boos as Izzy doesn't let go of the hold.
Stephy Auger: What is she doing!?
The ref tells Izzy to break the hold. But she snaps back, telling him that she has until five. So the ref gives her until the count of to break the hold.
Ref: ONE… TWO… THREE… FOUR…
Izzy breaks the hold.
After Izzy gets up in disgust, she takes a few steps back, allowing Fujiko the opportunity to get back to her feet. Izzy then motions for Fujiko to rise up. Izzy’s wave increases in speed as she grows more and more impatient with her challenger. Once she’s had enough, Izzy storms over, reaches down, snatches Fujiko by the hair and pulls her back up to her feet. When Izzy turns Fujiko around, Fujiko clocks her right a right hand. Izzy returns to her feet, but Fujko socks her again, knocking the champ back down to the canvas. After Izzy scrambles back to a vertical base, Fujiko grabs her and goes for an irish whip. But Izzy reverses, sending Fujiko into the ropes. But instead of bouncing into the ropes and returning, Fujiko uses the momentum to counter the irish whip, delivering a handspring rebound ace crusher to cheers from the crowd.
Kris Cruise: What a counter!
Fujiko slowly gets to her feet, and sees an advantage. She circles around Izzy, and as she rises to her feet, Fujiko pounces. She grabs her by the chest from behind. She doesn’t yell anything out, as is her customary, but instead spins her around, and throws her over her head with a Northern Lights Suplex! Fujiko throws her legs over, and then pulls Izzy up to her feet. With a small push, Fujiko then begins quickly kicking Izzy in an alternating fashion, using Izzy’s Dirty Dancing move against her!
Kris Cruise: Oh my! Fujiko using "Dirty Dancing" against the champion here!
Stephy Auger: That's gotta be a callback to their first match, when Izzy used the Boobplex against Fujiko!
Fujiko finishes off the barrage with jumping up and slamming her butt right into Izzy’s face, dropping her to the mat to cheers from the crowd! She makes the cover.

But as Izzy is in the middle of sitting up, Fujiko jumps off the top turnbuckle and knocks her down in the corner with a diving double foot stomp. Fujiko’s momentum sends her rolling forward from out of the corner. When Fujiko turns around, she sees Izzy folded up in the corner. Izzy turns over after Fujiko bounces off of her knees. Fujiko can be seen guarding her midsection while she cringes in pain. Fujiko then gets up, but is hunched over as she guard her midsection. When Fujiko turns around, Izzy delivers a double knee armbreaker. Izzy grabs Fujiko, pulls her up to her feet and after sizes her up, begins to throw out Dirty Dancin. Izzy paces back and forth. She’s still in disbelief that the Capetown Sunset didn’t put Fujiko away. Just then, Izzy stops in her tracks. She slowly turns her head and sees Fujiko stirring on the canvas. Her challenger turns over and is now up on all fours. Fujiko tries to desperately shake out the cobwebs while on all fours. But Izzy marches over, stands over Fujiko and reaches down. After pulling Fujiko back up to her feet, Izzy wraps her arm around the neck of Fujiko. Kris Cruise: Izzy Andersl ooks to have given Fujiko Mine the same treatment she gave to Noelle Smith after winning that championship.
Stephy Auger: Izzy can claim that she’s not hurt. But she’s still clearly got a chip on her shoulder over a lot of things and you say in this match. Those two went at each other and I thought they they both had the match won on several occasions. But it was Izzy Anders who was able to shift into that next gear and pick up the win.
