Beating the Odds...

The Lion’s Den Camera crew finds Terrific Terry Tillman in the middle of a workout. He is laying into a heavy bag landing combinations and power shots. There seems to be a slight bit of tension on the shots as if he is getting out some pinned up frustration. Noticing the camera, Tillman pounds the leather once more before addressing the camera.
TRIPLE T: Arrogant fool…that’s what he called me? It’s funny how I’m the arrogant one and this guy is still talking about a win he had weeks ago. “I beat Butcher, I beat Butcher…!” Good for you sunshine, so did several other people…including me. Katie Kensington whooped his ass last Pride. Nest will probably put the beats to him at 2nd Impact. What I’m saying is let it go son. You were not the only one who had a hard match. I fought Hanz Kuntz that same night, but when the match was over I concentrated on what was next. I moved forward. You on the other hand are still telling anyone that will listen that you won a match…but I’m the arrogant one.The way I see it, I’m not your problem. You’re mind set is all wrong. Here you are with only one somewhat significant win in your LDFC career and you somehow have a chance at being the number 1 contender for the APEX title, and all you want to do is be petty…
T removed the gloved from his hands and begins to remove the wraps. He sits on a nearby bench and after a few moments of silence he speaks again.
TRIPLE T: Everyone wants to teach Triple T a lesson. Kuntz wanted to teach me, Shintaro wants to teach me something. Every week, every match someone is going to show me something…yet here I am still standing. Still working, still pushing. You all want to prove the fans don’t care yet every time I step to the ring all I hear is cheers, all I see are signs with my name on them. And it’s not like I haven’t lost before so the whole “when I beat you the fans will desert you!” crutch is foolish at this point.Suddenly as if he could not hold it in anymore, Triple T tosses the wraps to the floor. He springs to his feet and starts to pace back and forth.
TRIPLE T: You know what screw this! I have done all I can to do to show work ethic. To show drive. To motivate myself and others around me and all I continue to get is disrespect. This one made a mistake and that’s why they lost…no son I BEAT YOU! I earned everything I’ve received here, from day one! But I’m still discounted, I’m still pushed aside. Here I am once again having to prove myself in a match with 5 other wrestlers. 5! People that I have already beaten. People that don’t even have a win under their belt all trying to get “lucky” like Butcher did. All trying to squeak by and jump from the bottom to the top with little effort. Not this time…not at my expense!I have no doubt that they participants in this match have what it takes to be in the LDFC but I have wanted this for far too long and have worked way too hard to let someone who’s signature is still wet on their contract take my spot.
But where do you begin? How do you prepare for 5 other wrestlers in the ring? You already know two of them don’t like you, the others are wildcards. It’s chaos and unpredictability all around. And being that I’m probably the one everyone feels they need to beat, I’ll have a huge target on my back. What do you do? You welcome it! You stand tall and you face the challenge head on, because at the end of the day when the dust settles and the final bell rings, I don’t want a single soul to doubt that I am everything that I say I am. I’ve proved it before and I’ll prove it again and again until the name plate on the APEX Championship belt reads Terrific Terry Tillman!
Majima, Kaede, Endee, Skylar, and Serinity, best of luck reaching for that brass ring…I’m going into 2nd Impact reaching for gold.
With that T grabs his towel drapes it over his head and walks out of the frame as the camera fades to black.
