Four o’clock rolls around as the instructors dismiss their classes for the day. The students make their way towards the changing rooms in their little groups, except for one. The Crimson Baroness spots her intended target out of the corner of her eye; Donovan Cross is busy having a sign language conversation with his best friend, Bree Nelson, when The Baroness sidles up close to him. A hand drifting across his shoulders as she gets in close.
“Hey cutie,” she says to him before giving Bree a brief salute, palm out, starting at her head and moving outwards. Although she wears a wicked grin on her face as she does so.
Donnie glances down, his face lighting up with a smile as he sees TCB. “Hey there.” He says, draping an arm around her shoulders and pulling her in for a hug. “I was just bout to go’n look for ya. See what ya gettin into and all when ya get up outta here. Crazy session today though, wasn’t it? I was just telling Bree, this intermediate class might just be the doggone death of me.” He motions towards Bree with a nod of his head, shooting her a quick glance as if to say play nice.
The Baroness replies, "Such a relief to be away from The Girlfriend and The Brat though. I swear, those two have been driving me up the wall all week. With their snide remarks and their sucking up to the trainers. Seriously, driving me crazy!" She breathes a heavy sigh. "But I've got a plane back to Philly to catch in a few hours, so nothing too crazy tonight." She says, coyly. "Maybe cause a bit of mischief before I leave..." said as she runs a hand down Donnie's chest.
Donnie blushes and runs a hand through his hair. “Shucks, when ain’t ya causin’ mischief, Crim?” he asks with a cheeky grin. “But aye, how much time ya got before ya flight? We can figure out somethin’ to get inta.” He chuckles, thinking back over her words. “And why don’t ya leave those girls alone? Emily seems quite alright.”
Bree keeps looking back and forth between Crimson Baroness and Donnie desperately trying to follow the conversation by reading their lips. She reads the last bit about Emily and smiles at Donnie. She puts her thumb up and Donnie and begins to sign to him “I think she’s pretty great actually. Sure she’s a lot different than we are, but that’s ok. It would be weird if we were all the same.” Donnie smiles back at Bree and replies, “Dat it would, Bree.”
Bree watches jealously as Crimson Baroness seems to be hanging all over her girlhood crush. She smiles faintly though as not to show her inner thoughts. She’s never told Donnie how she felt and she definitely wouldn’t give that away in front of TCB. Even if Bree was starting to think she read right through her and was doing this to get to her. Bree signs to TCB, hoping Donnie would translate. “What are ya doin tonight? I’m sure me and Donnie would love ta paint da town red wit you.”
Donnie raises an eyebrow, somewhat surprised by Bree's willingness to hang out with them. He knows that the two had their spats not too long ago, but obviously Bree is willing to let bygones be bygones. He signs to Bree, letting her know that Crimson has limited time because of her flight. Then he turns to Crimson. "She wants to know what you're doing, cause we'd love to paint the town with ya." He says, stressing the we'd part. He had a feeling that Crimson would be just as surprised by Bree's gesture as he was.
Walking over towards the trio is Emily Carter, one of LDFC’s newest prospects. She hasn’t been officially added to the roster yet, a fact that still annoyed her somewhat. Nevertheless, Emily didn’t let it keep her down too much. After getting some words of encouragement from the likes of Annie Zellor and Noelle Smith, Emily was making the best of her situation. She was slowly but surely becoming comfortable with her training. She also made three new friends over the past week - Bree, Donnie and Katie Kensington. Minus the negativity that was thrown her way by The Crimson Baroness, things seemed to be going well for the young upstart.
As Emily slung her gym bag over her left shoulder, she continued to look around as if she was looking for something, or someone, in particular. Once Emily makes her way towards Bree, she flashes a smile and a wave; two gestures that would be returned to her by Bree. “Hi Bree! Have you seen where Jensen went to? I wanted to see how he was feeling after his first few days of training, but he seems to have disappeared.” Emily first met Jensen during the LDFC Tryouts that were held towards the end of June. The two had hit it off over the fact that they both had famous siblings in wrestling; Emily was Chandler Scott’s sister while Jensen was Brandon and Felicity Banks’ half-brother. Out of the near two dozen prospects that attended the tryouts, they would be the only two to be given an invite to join LDFC.
For Emily, it was nice having Jensen finally attending classes. It was always good to have a familiar face around. Plus, she had developed a bit of a crush on “The Other Other Banks”, which was another reason she liked having him present.
One person who knew about this crush, and encouraged it with slightly amused enthusiasm, was Katherine Kensington. A bit of a matchmaker at heart, always trying to get her friends together, she had been devising a way to make Jensen aware of Emily’s feelings ever since learning about them over dinner. That is why hearing Jensen’s name mentioned by her new friend caused her to approach the steadily growing group. She smiles and waves at Emily and Donnie before giving the Baroness a particularly unpleasant glare.
‘She is right, she does bring the worst out of me’, she thinks to herself, a second before masking her annoyance with a smile for her friends’ sake.
‘Looking for Jensen, are we, Emmie dear? I believe I saw him exit his class a moment ago. Shall we go look for him?’ Her suggestion is not entirely innocent - leaving to look for Jensen would get Katie herself away from the insufferable Baroness, thereby serving her own purposes as well as Emily’s. Still, she is sincere in her offer to help her friend, who seems excited to hear Jensen Walczak is within reach.
"Leaving so soon?" The Baroness quipped, smiling wryly at Emily and Katie as she remains in her position nestled against Donnie. "Well don't let me keep you from your lovely evening together..."
She turns towards Bree, who has been trying to keep up with the conversation and crudely signs 'they want to meet Jensen', much to Bree and Donnie's surprise. The Baroness allows herself a chuckle before winking at Donnie. The snippy remark, combined with the condescending chuckle, sours Emily’s mood.
“I guess she’s right,” Emily says to Bree and Donnie after a sigh. “I’ll leave you guys to your friend. Have a good weekend...” says Emily before giving Bree and Donnie a timid wave. She would love to have stayed and chatted with Bree and Donnie. But with The Crimson Baroness hanging around, it was going to cause unnecessary drama. The Baroness had insulted Emily multiple times throughout the week. She wasn’t about to object herself to anymore of The Baroness’ remarks.
“Oh dear”, Katherine says as the two begin to walk away from the group. “Did I happen to cause you any discomfort? It was not my intention…” She grimaces guiltily. “Oh, heavens, now I feel perfectly awful!”
“Don’t feel bad,” says Emily. “You didn’t do anything wrong. I don’t know what it is with her,” referring to The Crimson Baroness. “I never even did anything to her. But all week, she’s been nothing but mean towards me. But I’m not going to let her get me down. Not anymore. Besides, I’m looking forward to dinner tonight with you and Johnny.”
Bree looks on as two of her friends walk away. They didn’t seem all too thrilled that Bree was willing to stay back and hang out with Crimson Baroness, but Bree didn’t care. She felt like Donnie was slipping away from her and the best way to keep him close would be to try and make friends with Crimson Baroness. At least, that is, until she was able to discern what her intentions were. Bree then began signing, not at Donnie directly this time as TCB had shown some semblance of a knowledge of ASL. She signed, “Are we goin ta go out for dinna or you got otha plans?”.
“What a bitch…” The Crimson Baroness mutters under her breath before turning back to Bree. She presses her index and middle finger against her thumb before rubbing her fist over her chest before she turns to Donnie, biting her bottom lip coyly as she sighs. “I don’t know how to say I have to fly back home in a couple of hours, could you sign that to her, pleeease?” with an extra flutter of the eyelashes for added effect.
Donnie nods, turning to Bree and relaying the message to her. “She says she has to fly back home in a couple of hours. To Philly. She doesn’t really have much time.” Donnie signs to Bree. He stops and thinks for a second. “Maybe we can all hang out when she gets back?” he signs. He smiles at Bree and gives an encouraging nod. “I’m happy that you’re trying to give her a chance. She’s really not that bad.” This was his way of trying to further smooth things out between them.
Bree looks back and forth between Crimson Baroness and Donnie before she stops on Donnie and smiles. She then signs, “Of course, that’s fine. It’ll be fun.” She then smiles at Crimson Baroness as Donnie relays her message. Just as the three are about to go their separate ways, they hear Terrance Tillman coming towards them.
Triple T runs up behind Bree and grabs her around her waist. He lifts her in the air and swings her around in a circle. When he sets her down she immediately turns to see who it was that grabbed her. She is greeted by a huge smile by T who is then meet with a series of punches to his arm and shoulder from Bree. T then goes over to Donovan and gives him a fist bump and then does the same to TCB after she attempts to come in for a hug.
T turns back to Bree and signs something to her. At first she looks puzzled but then realizes what T is trying to say. She smiles and shakes her head before showing him the correct way to say it.
“I thought I had it this time Bree. You would think with all the video game playing I do my figures would cooperate more.” Triple T says clearly in a playful mood. “Got the weekend all mapped out.” He continues. “Danni is coming over. I’m cooking dinner. Do you know how hard it is to cook for a health nut? Can’t use none of my mamma’s recipes. Anyway Advanced class is amazing. We are getting into the logic and strategic aspects of the ring. It’s great. Workouts are still a bitch though.” Triple T pulls a water out of his gear bag and takes a drink. "Where is everybody?"
“The Girlfriend took The Brat away before we could hurt your precious little feelings,” The Crimson Baroness says with disdain, “the rest of the roster have probably left already. Speaking of which, I have to get going. See you Monday, Donnie…” she winks at him before leaving.
And as one leaves, another arrives - or another two, to be precise.
“Baaaaaaaeeeeeee!” Danni throws herself around Triple T’s neck, planting a smooch on his lips. She is sweaty, her skin glistening after what would have been an intense session, but she looks happy - as does her inseparable friend and tag team partner, Darci.
“Ohmygosh, you wouldn’t believe what they tried to do to us today, in class”, Danni goes on, speaking rapidly and heatedly. “It was totally gross! You wanna tell him, bae?”
The blonde turns to her partner, but Darci waves her on. “Nah, it’s okay, you tell him.”
“Yeah. So,” Danni once again turns to Triple T. “We were learning that thing where you go like this, and then like this...’ The blonde exemplifies, twisting her love interest’s wrists inwardly, to which Triple T replies:
“A wristlock, yeah.”
“Yeah, that. And like, they wanted us to switch partners!! With all the gross, disgusting, yucky slobs?! NO WAY!”
“Ohmygosh, can you imagine if that freak Tarzanna had touched me?”
The two women have a moment of shared revulsion, as Triple T looks on with uncertainty. Bree and Donnie watch on, unsure of what to make of Body Shotz as the scene comes to an end.
