This is the first show for FGA that I have read, so forgive me if I’m a little behind.
Battleground 1.2
IntroEvan Grayson seems like he has some pent up anger issues, and maybe a drinking problem.
I would like to see Kevin stand up for himself a little more to be the voice of the ‘faces’ but that might just not be his persona. I think the intro did a great job of setting up the evening ahead though.
Matt Summers vs. Joshua BlackI thought the match had really good flow back and forth between the two competitors. I thought the commentary was spot on and the use of heel tactics to secure a victory was well played out. If I had anything to critique on the match it would be that whoever did the coding only bolded the commentator names for the entrances.
Drew Stevenson vs. Alistair MangoldThe beginning commentary was a little confusing to me. They talk about Mangold’s injury and how people should have been paying attention to him, when they were too busy paying attention to the “flavors of the month” like Nate Adams,
Alistair Mangold, and Jaxie Wyatt. I was slightly confused on how to take that. The match itself was well written and there was a good back and forth flow throughout. There were a few small spelling errors here and there, but that’s nothing that an extra proofread couldn’t fix.
Dan Herrera SegmentHonestly? I loved it. Way to put yourself out there and let everyone know that we are not standing for what used to be unacceptable behavior in this industry. You got another face here that has your back.
Jaxie Wyatt vs. CyncityGreat match! If all female matches were this good, I wouldn’t have to take a smoke break during them. At this point in the show it is by far the best match of the card.
The Murder SegmentReminded me of The Flock, and that is hard to do. It had a deep, dark undertone to it, and I think that is something that everyone has been missing in e-fedding. Nicely done fellas.
Riley Owens vs. Dan HerreraGreat clean match. I thought it was really well written and had good flow from start to finish. The commentary made me chuckle throughout the entire match. I’m almost positive at this point that Evan has a drinking problem.
Sean Sands SegmentExtremely interesting proposition. I got a good laugh when he said he had a lot to get off of his chest and then spoke two sentences before walking away. However, it gave me a real insight to the character when he made the realization and proposition that he did. I feel myself becoming a bit of a Sean Sands mark already.
Jared James SegmentInteresting. I can’t wait to see what’s going on with this guy. As a newcomer, I can say with certainty that I didn’t know who you were either.
Chris Q SegmentI love this guy’s attitude. Straightforward heel played to perfection. You don’t like it, I’ma whip that ass. But then again, I guess there’s a reason why he’s our world champion, eh?
Johnny Karma vs. Ryan KiddIt was a short match, but still well done. I thought the flow went well, and I liked how it ended.
Willow Swaine & Camellia D. Magma vs. Jimmy Page & Thaddeus Grey Wow. This was an exciting match. The powers that be had a great idea booking this one.
Chaz Holiday & Matt Summers SegmentThis made me smile. It’s always nice to see fellow competitors support one another. There’s not enough of this going around in-character, and it’s refreshing to see.
The Murder vs. Sean Sands & The Shoot KingsIf the show wasn’t amazing yet, this one put it over the top without a doubt. The back and forth in this match had me sitting on the edge of my seat. It was a great read, and everyone involved in this match should be proud of themselves regardless of the outcome.
Kevin Hardaway & Chris Bond SegmentCalling someone out of retirement for one last match? Always awesome. I love how our champion wasted no time cutting their party short. Big Bad indeed. Got me super pumped for the main event.
Chris Q vs. Kevin HardawayThe match in itself was a blast to read, but the aftermath is what capped it all off. The warning was put out there by the champion, and The Murder wasted no time calling his bluff. Some hell is going to break loose, and I can’t wait to see what happens next.
OverallAmazing show. I’m really sad that it took me this long to join this fed after hearing about it for over a year. I’m really excited for the next show and for the PPV as well. It’s been a long time since I’ve felt this good about a fed, can’t wait to see what happens next!
