Forgive me if it's brief, I'm tired and ill, but I said I would do this tonight. If we go back to the start, when you came in as the ladies man. I do remember thinking it's overused in e-fedding in general, but we haven't had or didn't have one in FGA at the time. So it came as a refreshing break. That being said, I don't think you gave it long enough to make a real go of it. But, hey, that worked out for the best Your work and the depth of the character has vastly improved since you took on the role of prophet or messiah (I'm confused as to which one he's supposed to be). You've allowed Blayze (by the way, I struggle to take him seriously as the psychotic prophet with a name like Blayze just saying) to almost corner the market when it comes to psychotic heels here in FGA. Until Jimmy Page came along, but that's a different brand of psychopathy so we'll allow it. Your feud with Brandt allowed you to dive into the deep end, instead of taking it slow, when it came to the heel turn. And the progression with the gradual build up of the Church of the Beyond has been almost reminiscent of The Murder and the indoctrination of Bob Pooler #cheapplug but seriously, you guys are doing a good job at that. One criticism I might levy at you is the reveal of Justice Young being kidnapped by BB&B seemed a little rushed at the time. Maybe I wasn't paying too much attention, but I would have liked to see a bit more guess work and promo work behind 'whodunnit'. Final note, the recent reveal of Tiffany turning took me by surprise. Kudos.

Alright, now that this old man has gotten his nap in after the trip... The progression of the Johnny Blayze character has been one hell of a ride. I went back and read every roleplay on Friday or so and I was pretty amazed at how different he has become. I agree with Benny, the ladies man character can be a little rehashed but I don't think you went over the top with it like a lot of people do. It was believable, especially for an indy ladies man. I don't like to see million dollar homes and beach front properties in indy wrestling. I mean, seriously, if they have that kind of money than they definitely wouldn't be slumming it in Jersey. (No offense Terr. ) I think I can really see you trying to flesh out the early Blayze in those rps, but it seems like you weren't happy with the direction of the character, which leads to the change? Just a guess. What I love most about the Blayze character is his slow transition into the monster that he's become. There's also a good backstory there on why he's turned out the way that he has. I touched on it a bit in my rp leading up to the eight man tag. Doing some research, I saw that Blayze had been pushed aside by Gordon for Hardaway, and then some stuff I'm not too sure of went on with that guy who shall remain nameless from San Diego. The feud with Alexia Brandt was one of my favorites and where I really felt like the Blayze character began to find his calling. (I miss Rob, BTW.) Now that the Suspects are becoming involved in a feud with the Church, I understand what Rob was talking about on efed guerrillas, you are a great handler that knows how to develop and promote a good feud. It's during this time the Blayze character begins his now infamous kidnappings and torture. The one with the priest was pretty memorable for me. Now, in a feedback thread I know I criticized these torture scenes a bit in non CD rps, they seemed to be happening on camera. I wondered how Blayze was able to do this without getting fired/arrested. In hindsight now, I feel I was a bit harsh in that criticism. There was a great pic on twitter the other day showing all of the crimes that have been committed in WWE/WCW/ECW over the years that would lead to imprisonment and even execution. LOL Even with that criticism I felt every one of those were well written and added a freaky dimension to Blayze. He might be the ultimate psychopath. I really like the fact that Blayze has begun to field his own army of followers. I think the Chaths character is a definite fit for a "buddy" theme. Out of all your roleplays, the one I enjoyed the most was definitely your first one for the Lions Cup. Now I'll openly admit that I'm not up on the scoring categories and I am definitely not questioning the judging of any matches, but I personally felt it was the strongest roleplay out of every single one for that tournament by far. If anything, it was so strong I felt that the second one may have taken away from it. Again, just my humble opinion. Moving on we see Blayze adding to his ranks with Young, Richards, and now Tiffany. I really like the direction that the Beyonders are going, it feels like a movement that's sweeping across FGA. I'd really like to see some interaction with the newer followers and Blayze, really building him into a messiah type leader for them. Especially with Young and Tiffany, I really think that Blayze and the Church can give their life meaning. I do miss the Orson character though, bring him back. All in all, Johnny Blayze might be the most twisted, fucked up character I've ever read in this game. That's a good thing as I've read some pretty twisted shit before. I'll really be interested to see where he goes from here and I know that you've hinted about an ultimate demise, but I'd ask that you not kill him off or anything like that. It'd be quite a story, and a challenging one at that, to see you try to go face with him again sometime down the road.

Finally...some life to this thread. Thanks Benny for the insight you DID bring despite your tired and ill state. 1. Glad to hear you and Jerry both touch on the fact that Blayze was a different approach to the player/ladies man type and yes I would've loved to have given it more of a push but my lack of wins was not good for a face like character. He's no Mikey Whipwreck after all. 2. Also nice to know my work to get him known as the psycho of psycho heels has succeeded. Like I said to Terry once, I'm fine losing if the story is there and a guy like Blayze (as well as the Church of Beyond in general) does better by losing but still thinking he won in his own personal war. Something I hope carries over to Jason Richards if he continues to have his unfortunate losing streak. 3. I definitely agree that the feud with Brandt was the catalyst for what you all see today and that, like Jerry said, shows I can tell an amazing story if given the right circumstances and opposing handler to work with. Shame it didn't shine during The Murder vs Superfriends v1.0 story development. 4. I do liken the Church to The Murder in a sense -- kept thinking "should we drop Richards soon if he keeps losing?" but then you dropped Reagan so he's got some life still, I guess. 5. I can see how you would feel the Justice Young kidnapping reveal to be too rushed ... not even sure why we rushed it other than to quickly expand the group beyond just two dudes talking constantly about taking over FGA and leaving it in ruins. 6. Credit goes to Jerry for the heel turn of Tiffany - all I did was nix his original idea of her being kidnapped as a victim to further Tryon's fury towards The Church since we had already kidnapped someone once before. Let's see what I have to say that wasn't already said in my response to Benny... 1. I really tried to make the Blayze as a messenger of Exodus idea work but it never got the support I wanted from you know who so I quickly diverted from the messenger and worshiper of another mans message to THE man who had the message that everyone worshiped. 2. I do miss doing those torture scenes - maybe I'll whip one up and have the other members of the Church take part in the torture. I DO have a plan for a cool initiation for the new members after the new year so look for that. 3. Having you say that my 1st RP for the Lions Cup was probably my best work AND the best of the whole field yet it got derailed by my 2nd one makes me wanna go back and read them both to see where I went wrong. 4. I definitely will be trying to include Richards and Tiffany in future segments once the supershow concludes - just need to reach out to Richards' handler because he definitely seems to be speaking the language but not acting the part entirely. 5. Orson was a good character in the development but I think he has done his job -- almost think of him as the former leader who was grooming a new disciple and then faded away once Blayze was his own man. 6. I did give thought to what it would be like storywise to get Blayze as a face again - not sure how it would ever be concieved or accepted by the fans. Kind of like The Undertaker needed to go become some Biker dude to become a face. 7. This one is for Ben because I forgot to ask in my response to him -- what do you think would make a better name if you think Johnny Blayze is not realistic enough for the leader of a "church" movement? Alright, now that this old man has gotten his nap in after the trip... The progression of the Johnny Blayze character has been one hell of a ride. Having you say that my 1st RP for the Lions Cup was probably my best work AND the best of the whole field yet it got derailed by my 2nd one makes me wanna go back and read them both to see where I went wrong. Well, I didn't mean to infer that you went wrong with the second one. I guess I meant to say that I felt the first one stood so strong on its own, that it didn't need a follow up to it. Sometimes less can be more, I guess? Nick and I were talking about Blayze the other day on AIM (Yes, I do get on sometimes even though we always seem to miss each other. LOL ) and I was commenting to him how strong I felt that roleplay was. When I read the roleplays, I don't really think of how I would score it on the FGA scoring system. I just go for the impact feeling. I felt that the first one you did for the Lion's cup made more of an impact on me as a reader than any of the others. In fact, if I remember I think I commented on its awesomeness in the Blayze feedback thread.

Who knows, again that's just my opinion, and mine means dick when it comes to judging. Lol! In the end, fuck that shit anyway - tag team wrestling rules. If you had then we wouldn't be involved in what will be the match of the year at Final Frontier.

All right. Time to get down to business.
I've been doing all of these from first glance, starting with newest stuff and going backwards until I thought I had enough to give a worthy response. This time, I went forwards and started with the debut promo, working my way up until I reached the point where I participated in FRONTIER vs. FGA II, and since I joined the roster after that I was essentially caught up.
I thought I was reading two entirely different handlers, bro. Dead serious.
And I'm not just talking face and heel, I'm talking everything. From the gimmick-heavy face who was focused on the business, to angst-driven heel with an emphasis on pessmistic poetry, almost...it was a radical change. A VERY radical change.
I see why it happened, and I love it. I love the story it told of a guy coming in, ready to live the dream, and he gets screwed. Bad timing maybe on the turn, because I found myself feeling sorry for Pat Gordon Jnr. right after Bob Pooler's turn just before. But the way you did it...just walked out there, said "fuck it" and left...that was awesomeness.
I just don't know how the church theme gimmick came to be. I'm definitely not saying that I don't like it. I think I get the references to the fires of Hell, maybe I just missed something (hey, I read a dozen promos just now.)
Regardless, the story is well told, and by far the piece I enjoyed the most was the psychological profile piece because it left me wondering where this is going to go next. Everything else was good, but it didn't have me hanging like that psych profile did. I wanted answers, and if I read something that pisses me off when I get to the end and the story's still not over...guess what? You've written some good shit, and got your money's worth out of me!

Interesting that you read things like it was two different handlers -- guess it comes down to the fact I struggled at the start to right a believable face when my past history as a handler has mainly been heels. Yeah seems like a lot of my good ideas come RIGHT after The Murder has done it first -- from Pooler's turn followed by me going heel down to me wanting to possibly dump a Church member only for The Murder to do it first. But thanks for appreciating the effort made by Blayze to just drop the BS and move away from PG Jr and friends. The Church idea came to be first from Blayze trying to extoll the virtures of EXODUS Pro and Jonathan Collins only to be off-camera brought into the fold of Beyondism by Orson Thomas who grooms him into the messiah type leader we see today. Glad you liked the pysch profile - sorry it didn't deliver in subsequent promos. In essence it was supposed to give this impression that maybe Blayze has always been crazy and the initial gimmick was a complete farce. I probably strayed away from that concept too much in the end but hey, The Church of The Beyond has been good so far so keep on tuning in. All right. Time to get down to business.
