(As the scene changes to ringside, we see the announcing team of Kevin Clement and Evan Grayson standing in the ring, both with a mic in hand. Kevin Clement has a big, cheesy grin on his face while his coworker, Evan Grayson, seems like he is ready for this to end as soon as possible. Like it is torture for him. To the right of the two men stands a table with a black tablecloth over it and the Frontier Lion’s Cup placed on top of the small table, the FGA logo engraved right on it. Underneath the logo is the title of the cup along with the year and on the nameplate is the name of the winner of the 2013 Frontier Lion’s Cup, Ohio’s own, Sean Sands.)
Clement: Ladies and gentlemen, it is time to award the 2013 Frontier Lion’s Cup! After defeating Johnny Blayze in the first round…
(A massive chorus of boos erupts from the Ohio audience for the Bloodbath & Beyond member.)
Clement: Baltimore’s own Kevin Hardaway in the semifinals….
(A nice pop for the fan favorite, K-Hard.)
Clement: And Chaths in the finals, this man has now not only earned the honor of holding this prestigious trophy, but has earned the right to challenge for the FGA Heavyweight championship at Respect Is Earned!
(A huge pop from the crowd and a small “Sands” chant starts up as Kevin Clement continues to smile. Evan Grayson just sighs into the microphone before speaking.)
Grayson: He fought hard and shocked the FGA Universe, including myself.
Clement: Ladies and gentlemen, your 2013 Frontier Lion’s Cup winner and next number one contender to the FGA title, Ohio’s own, SEAN SANDS!
(“We Can Make The World Stop” by The Glitch Mob begins to blare out and the Ohio crowd absolutely explodes out in cheers as many of the members in the audience stand up on their feet and cheer. Sean Sands suddenly makes his way out from backstage, going through the curtains. He is wearing a pair of black jeans and a red FGA t-shirt, usually worn by those who want to represent the company and don’t have their own cool shirt, like Wayne’s Panda Enthusiast t-shirt. There is a big grin on Sean’s face as he looks out at the audience. A small “Sands” chant is starting up again. He slowly makes his way to the ring, making sure to high five as many people as possible before making it ringside, where instead of going into the ring, continues to high five fans all the way around. After the excessive high fiving, Sean hops up on the ring apron and enters the ring by going through the middle and top rope before walking over to Kevin Clement and shaking his hand before receiving a mic of his own.)
Sean Sands: It really is great to be back in Ohio…
(A huge pop for the hometown fan favorite as he just continues to grin.)
Sean Sands: I’ve got to say, if you had told me before Above and Beyond II that I would defeat three superstars in one night to cement my name in history and become the 2013 Frontier Lion’s Cup winner, I would have likely scoffed and told you to go get checked by a doctor.
(Sean shrugs a little as he looks over at Clement and Grayson.)
Sean Sands: But, I did. I overcame anyone who had any doubts about me and I became the winner of this cup…
(Sean points to the Frontier Lion’s Cup.)
Sean Sands: …and the next number one contender to go up against the Big Bad. And you know what? This cup is a victory that I will dedicate to my wife and my son sitting there in the front row.
(The Ohioan points to his wife, a short, blonde woman, and his son, who seems to be just around the one year mark.)
Sean Sands: This was dedicated to my late father, my mother, my best friend Xavier Daniels, and most importantly…to all of you.
(Sean circles around pointing to everyone in the stands.)
Sean Sands: And at Respect Is Earned, I’m going to win again. That is my promise to you.
(The Cincinnati native hands the microphone back to Clement, who thanks the Ohioan before speaking into the mic. Sean walks behind the cup and smiles as he looks out at the audience.)
Clement: Ladies and gentlemen, your 2013 Frontier Lion’s Cup winner, SEAN SANDS!
(On cue, Sands grabs the cup by the bottom and lifts it high in the air with both hands, letting out a small roar as the audience explodes in cheers once more.)
I wouldn’t do that if I were you...
(Everyone’s attention shoots towards the top of the entrance and the mood immediately changes. The smiles quickly vanish as the Big Bad of FGA, Chris Q, steps through the curtain with the FGA Heavyweight Championship over his shoulder. The fans immediately boo. Chris smiles and pauses for a moment, allowing the reaction to sink in, before bringing the microphone to his mouth again.)
Chris Q: You ‘promise’ that you’re going to win at Respect is Earned? See, I wouldn’t do that if I were in your position, Sean. You are getting way too far ahead of yourself. I understand that you won some little tournament and now have the right to challenge for my title, but don’t be a naïve little bitch. In order for you to make good on that promise, you are going to have to do something that nobody has been able to legitimately do since I arrived in Frontier Grappling Arts. You are going to have to beat Chris Q.
(Q pauses for a moment.)
Chris Q: I don’t think you’ve truly grasped the reality of the situation. It’s obvious after listening to you speak that you barely have a grasp on the English language, so I can tell that intelligence isn’t your strongest attribute. This isn’t going to be like some shitty tournament. You are going to be getting into the ring with the most dangerous, dominant FGA Heavyweight Champion in the history of this company. You aren’t going to ride some underdog wave all the way to my title. In case you haven’t seen my work, there will be no opportunity to score the ‘upset’ victory in this match. I don’t make the stupid mistakes that everyone else makes. The only way you can win this match and take the title from me is if you prove that you’re the better man. But honestly, I don’t even think you believe that is true, Sean.
(The fans boo again and Sean Sands shakes his head at the FGA Champion.)
Chris Q: But I can tell that emotions are high tonight and you’re still excited about your little victory at Above & Beyond II. Why shouldn’t you be? As far as I’m concerned, this is the peak for Sean Sands. This is probably the greatest moment you’ll ever have in your entire career. So, I’ll let you have your little celebration here tonight and whatever weak ass party you have planned for your hometown fans. But after tonight, Sean, it’s time to plug into reality. I don’t want to hear any more bullshit promises or false bravado. If you want to be taken seriously as a contender for the FGA Championship, you better fucking act like it.
(Q drops his microphone and stares directly into the eyes of his next challenger. The fans start to cheer for Sean Sands once again as the Big Bad cracks a tiny smile. Sean seems to be inviting Chris into the ring, much to the delight of the fans, but the FGA Champion just rolls his eyes. Q continues to smile at Sands before turning around and disappearing to the back.)
