Semifinals of the Dynamic Duos Tournament
U.K. Dragons vs. The Murder
U.K. Dragons vs. The Murder
Cruz: The following contest is scheduled for one fall. It is a semifinals match in the Dynamic Duos Tournament. Due to the fact that the other semifinals match ended in a draw, this match WILL be for the Mid-Atlantic Tag Team Championship!
The opening notes to Glass Candy's "Candy Castle" hit the speakers and Laurel Anne Hardy dances onstage, while Evangelista walks out beside her and places her hands on her hips as she surveys crowd. The GFC World Tag Team Championship belts are around their waists. After exchanging a couple of words in low tones, they jog down to the ring, high fiving fans, then Evangelista slides under the bottom rope while Laurel leaps over her onto the apron and vaults over the top rope.
Cruz: Introducing first, coming in at a combined weight of 281 pounds. They are the team of Evangelista and Laurel Ann Hardy, the U..... K...... DRAGONS!
They climb opposite turnbuckles and Evangelista poses with her title belt above her head while Hardy wheels her own around like dancing partner. They then moonsault down to standing positions in the centre of the ring and hand the belts to the ref. Laurel takes a theatrical bow while Leanne warms up.
Clement: It's been a crazy turn of events this evening. We thought that the winner of this match would go on to face the winners of Bad Attitude and The Usual Suspects in the finals.
Grayson: But due to the draw, this match is essentially the finals and will be for the Mid-Atantic Tag Team Championship!
The lights go out in the arena as Alice In Chain's “Man In The Box” starts playing over the speaker system. The strobe lights begin flickering on the entrance curtain in pace with the drum and base line until they reach a crescendo at the chorus and Malcolm Drake and Dom Harter burst through the curtain. Drake stops beyond the curtain, casting wary sideways glances at the fans along ringside. Harter stands there, stroking his beard with a devilish grin on his face, not once taking his eyes off their opponents as he begins his slow, deliberate walk down the aisle.
Cruz: And their opponents, coming in at a combined weight of 418 pounds They are the team of Dom Harter and Malcolm Drake, THE MURDER!
Drake recoils from those fans that attempt to touch him, screaming at them and smacking himself in the head along the way to the ring. Harter ignores most of the fans in attendance, their boos not affecting him as he climbs up the steel steps and enters the ring through the ropes. Once inside, Dom makes his way to the corner as he rests his arms on the top rope and his forehead against the turnbuckle pad as he waits for the match to begin. Drake slides onto the bottom rope on his stomach and crawls to the nearest turnbuckle corner, where he slumps his arms over the middle rope, staring out at the crowd. He turns back towards the ring, slouching in the corner; scratching his head and chest hair.
Clement: On one side of the ring, you have The Murder. Malcolm Drake and Dom Harter. To men that are hell bent on destruction. Two men that enjoy inflicting pain. This team survived Steel Cage Warfare. And if successful tonight, they will become the first Mid-Atlantic Tag Team Champions.
On the other side of the ring you have Laurel Anne Hardy and Evangelista. The U.K. Dragons. This isn't just arguably one of the best womens tag teams in the world. This is one of the best tag teams, period. Their success on the independent scene this year has been unparalleled. WARPED Tag Team Champions? Check. GFC World Tag Team Champions? Check. They could very well go for the trifecta here tonight. Something's got to give...
The bell sounds as Hardy and Harter start things off. But Hardy looks over towards her corner and sees Evangelista calling for the tag.
Clement: It looks like Evangelista wants some of the Tenacious Little Bastard.
Grayson: I don't know why. Does she not know what Harter does to women?
Hardy shrugs her shoulders, heads over and tags in Evangelista to cheers from the crowd. When Evangelista gets in, she circles the ring, waving on Harter to come at her. Harter inches over towards her and looks for a collar & elbow tie up. But Evangelista ducks underneath and applies a waistlock from behind. Harter quickly elbows her in the face, performs a standing switch and applies a waistlock of his own. But Evangelista reaches down, slips one of her arms between Harter's and reverses into an arm wrench. The crowd cheers. Harter can be seen wincing in pain. The ref asks him if he wants to give up, but Harter refuses to quit. So Evangelista repositions her grip, inflicting more pain on Harter in the process. The crowd cheers. Harter then reaches over and reverses with an arm wrench of his own. The crowd boos. Evangelista then rolls forward, leans back, kips up and counters with a headscissors takeover to cheers from the crowd.
Clement: How about that sequence? Evangelista is getting the better of the former FGA Heavyweight Champion.
Harter gets up, but Evangelista throws him down with an arm drag. The crowd cheers. Harter gets back up, but Evangelista throws him back down with another arm drag. The crowd cheers. As Harter gets up, Evangelista
grabs him and sends him into the ropes. When Harter comes back, Evangelista goes for a hip toss. But Harter blocks it and counters with a clothesline that knocks her down. The crowd boos as he drops down and makes the cover.
