Amanda Johnson is sat on a sidewalk bench set to interview Gabi Beltran. Shockingly, Beltran is actually at the agreed upon meeting place on time, ready to go. There weren't even any shenanigans or unusual circumstances surrounding her arrival, besides her typical, unnerving pacing in place. After a moment to catch her bearings and take in this almost too good to be true start to the proceedings, the interview addresses her subject, "So, Gabi --"
Naturally, that was where things turned south, "Why are we doing this." Gabi interjected.
"Hm?"
"I mean, what's the point; I know this deal is part of the whole--" her voice starts to trail off before she refocuses, "-- whatever to get people excited to see a fight. Think that's kind of dumb myself, don't need hype to be excited about violence, but I get it," she pauses, "This though, what am I going to say that people don't know already. My mindset about fighting three people, about qualifying to fight for the Hollywood Cup and whoever comes with that is pretty established. I don't speak in riddles, I don't sugarcoat or make up motivations that are more complex than they need to be. My actions do most of the talking, but most of what I do say in the lead up's a lot more genuine than what you can expect from these other three."
Amanda quirks a brow, "Elaborate on that?"
Beltran shrugs, "People are fake or they try too hard, especially in this business. This isn't just me not trusting people," she shakes her head, "Ashley tries to present herself one way but you check her social media and it's the exact opposite with her desperate for approval. Dover's stuck in a cycle of talk big, have some big setbacks, say now she's mad, get a little momentum, come up short again and then tell people that she still accomplished more as a rookie than most do-- totally stuck on autopilot, nothing real about it. Kent might be starting to get it, but she's got a million voices in her head and is at that age where shes's confused about what she wants to be, who she is. It'll probably be a few years before she finds the 'real' her or whatever. I just wish we could cut the pretense. Just let me scrap bro, I --"
Gabi's tangent, which was actually shockingly expressive by her standards even if her inflection never changed, was suddenly interrupted when a white van pulled up to the sidewalk. The back door swung open and a CLAN OF ROGUE NINJAS hopped out! Beltran tried her best to fight them off, finding some success before a smoke bomb was thrown. When said smoke cleared, she had been subdued and the van drove off with the 3GW star thrown in the back! Would she make it back in time for Night Two, was this the last time we'd ever see Gabi Beltran, was this just her way of getting an Uber ride? We'd have to stay tuned to find out, but in this moment of uncertainty, one thing was clear: "Sometimes I hate this job," Amanda muttered--seemingly numb to the amount of unusual happenings surrounding these interviews by now--coughing and trying prevent her eyes from watering as the video feed cut out.
Fin.
