"Sometimes I wonder where it all went left..."
(We fade open to a photo of Emily Carter and Mercy Williams. The two are hugged up and all smiles. A far cry from the picture we'll see Friday night. The camera zooms out to reveal Emily Carter.)
"Was it the pilot episode of Thursday Night Challenge where the initial miscommunication took place?"
"Was it a couple of weeks later when we collided accidentally for the second time?"
"Was it during the aftermath of your match with Echo, when all I did was come out to give my two friends a round of applause. Yet somehow, you saw it as me trying to grandstand and put the attention on myself."
(She shakes her head.)
"Or maybe this all started well before 3GW was even formed. I guess it doesn't really matter where we try and pinpoint where it all started because at this date and time, we're pretty much at the point of no return between you and I. I think it's pretty obvious that you've got some deep seated issues when it comes to me. To this day it still puzzles me. A woman as drop dead gorgeous as you really shouldn't be so insecure. But with the way you've acted and the venom you've spat at me, it all just reeks on insecurity."
(She sighs)
"I understand wanting to break the mold. All of us did. We still do. I understand you wanting to head out west to prove that you were better than what you showed back in North Carolina. If this was simply about a challenge of skill, all you had to do was name the time and place. We could of gotten in that ring, shook hands, and let the best wrestler win. But as we stand here on February 22, 2017, what's about to happen on Friday Night is far from a friendly competition. This was made personal. And there's only one person to blame for things getting to this point. As a matter of fact, it's the same person you're incapable of ever placing any blame on..."
"Yourself."
"Don't get mad at me because myself, MacRear, and you're BFF Katie were actually able to defend the Carolina Cup against all outsiders while you let Adam Adonis walk into LDFC, disrespect our house and walk out with the Cup."
"Don't get mad at me because I actually made it to the top of LDFC and did the unthinkable while your biggest win was at the tail end of 2015."
"Don't get mad at me because FGA couldn't be bothered to give you a free ticket to their very first show in your own home country."
"It seems like for every setback you've faced, you've twisted it into being my fault. But this change in you, it didn't happen overnight. I should've seen this coming well before the attack at the Red Carpet Rumble. But I didn't and now we're to the point where things have spiraled out to where we are today."
(She shakes her head)
"I'll admit it. For a bit there, you got me. All the hateful comments, the personal attacks... yeah, it got under my skin. Congratulations. I'm sure you're just thrilled with yourself. But this Friday at Showdown in the Sun, I'm not heading into LA full of rage. I'm not walking into Center Stage Area seeing red. I'm walking into that venue shaking my head. If this is the level you have to stoop to... if you have to resort to going low, then that tells me who is really under whose skin. That tells me who is really in whose head."
"While you were trying to get the perfect selfie angle, I was busy training."
"While you were busy picking and choosing which picture people would favorite the most, I was busy training."
"While you were perfecting that sun-kissed tan, I was busy training. But I'm not knocking you. I'm actually glad you went off Paradise and came back refocused and re-energized. For this Featured Contest, I don't want any copouts. I don't want to hear any excuses from you. I want you to put your best foot forward. I want you at 100%. That way, you can look yourself in the mirror and tell yourself that you gave me the best version of Mercy Williams possible... and it just wasn't good enough."
"This ends, once and for all, on Friday."
"There won't be any compassion."
"There won't be any empathy."
"And there will certainly be no mercy."
"I'll see you then, friend"
"Oh, and just a bit of advice? You should probably duck."
"You have a habit of being in the way".
