The Venom
Location: Unknown
OFF CAMERA
Staring into a mirror, the unmasked face of Mirage, a face once belonging to Danny Diamond, looks at itself. Mirage gazes into the mirror, not any emotion seen in his face. It's as if the lights are on, but nobody's home. He sits on a stool, in a dark room, just blankly staring into the mirror at himself. Or, possibly, at someone else. Lying on the desk that holds the mirror is his beige-colored mask. Suddenly, he begins speaking.
|MIRAGE| "You could have had it all. The money, the fame, the recognition. I was going to help you get it all. All I needed from you was your cooperation. But you failed. You let such trivial things get in the way."
"Sure, family and friends, they seem important. But in the big picture, in the big scheme, they are nothing but a speck. A tiny, insignificant dot on the map."
"We could've ruled. Who needs friends, who needs family, when you have power? We could've set this world on fire. It would've been ours, every last bit of it. Now, look at what your actions have done. Look at what you made me do."
"Do you think this is what I wanted? Do you think I wanted to be alone in my crusade? Believe it or not, Daniel, I don't hate company. I quite like having someone to share my goals with."
"But here we are. The roles are reversed. No longer am I the voice in your head. Instead, I'm the one listening to your screams; your shouts to be freed. Beg all you want, Daniel. Your freedom is gone. You had your chance and you blew it. Don't hate me for what I've done to you, though. I can only hope you'll realize, in time, this is what must be done. For myself and for you, but most importantly, for the world."
"We know my message won't spread itself. People are too self-absorbed and afraid to realize they need a change. There needs to be a messenger. That is my role in this life. That was your role in this life. Now, I've got to do it by myself."
"But rest assured, Daniel, my work will be done. No matter what I need to do, no matter whom I need to hurt. My work - will - be done."
"I've already won a shot at the Mid-Atlantic Legacy Championship. People respect champions. People listen to champions. People follow champions religiously. It may not be the World Championship, but it's a start. My message will be heard on a much larger scale with the Mid-Atlantic Legacy Championship in my hands."
"And you'll be here, witnessing all of it with me, just from the other side this time. You will feel their blood on our hands. You will hear their screams through our ears. And I'll feel you; I'll hear you."
"I'm not leaving you behind, Daniel. You may have failed to see the bigger picture, but that doesn't mean you don't deserve your spot at the top of the throne when I get there. You just won't be the one working to get that spot, not anymore."
"Together, we'll bleed our venomous blood into the water. Our sickness, our disease, will spread. Soon enough, the whole world will be at our feet, begging us to save them. But there's no saving what this World has become. There's only embracing it. Once they learn that, their corruption will be gone. Then, and only then, will the World truly be free from its own ignorance."[/color]
Mirage turns his face in the direction of his mask. He picks it up and slowly puts it on, covering his face completely. Once done, the now-masked man looks back into the mirror.
|MIRAGE| "Sanity is just a mirage, Daniel. You know that just as well as I do. Let's teach them all this very important lesson."
Mirage begins tilting his head ever-so-slightly to the side, almost like a confused puppy, as he continues to stare into the mirror. A few seconds pass when, abruptly, he lunges forward, smashing his head into the mirror and breaking it into a bunch of pieces! Shards of glass pierce through the mask, some even cutting into Mirage's skin as blood gradually begins pouring from the parts of the mask that were cut open. The stool he was seated on went flying back as soon as he jumped. He looks down, letting the blood scroll down his mask and then drip from the bottom of it to the floor. Now completely silent, completely still, Mirage doesn't make a sound. He just stares at his own blood on the floor. He slowly kneels down, before rubbing his finger across the floor and swiping up some of the blood with it. He pulls his finger closer towards his eyes and examines the blood.
|MIRAGE| "Our mission has only begun, Daniel. Our mission has only begun."
End scene.
The Road To A New World Is Paved With The Blood Of The Wicked

ON CAMERA
As soon as the camera turns on, the masked face of Mirage is seen. With his mask now sporting a few cuts, "The Illusionist" looks into the camera. He appears to be outside at night, street lights being the only thing keeping the video from being in pitch black.
|MIRAGE| "Y'know, I'm not quite sure what the higher ups are thinking. They should know by now that I don't exactly work well with others. Yet, they decided to put me in a six-person tag team match. Dom Harter and Johnny Raike are my partners. Johnny and I were involved in the Gauntlet match a few weeks ago. He told us a sob story about how his parents hated him and I said if we ended up in the ring together, I'd teach him a little something about pain. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. He was eliminated before I entered the match. What a shame. I was looking forward to bloodying him up."
"Then there's Dominic - a man whom, at Capital Combat, was robbed of the opportunity to make Malcolm Drake bleed when Ole' Malcy did it himself. I'm not quite sure his head will be in the game tonight. Then again, is my head ever in it? I never care about wins or losses. I just have one goal in mind and that is to spread my message, just as Dominic has one goal in mind; to dismantle his former friend."
"I don't know if we'll get along. I don't know if we'll coexist. Hell, I don't know if we'll win. But does it really matter? Another check in the win column seems to be what everyone wants more than anything - what everyone's all about. Not me. I'm about making this world a better place. Maybe a win here and there is important. It'll get me noticed. But that's all it's really good for. People pay attention to the winners while the losers are ignored. Look at Daniel, before I came back into his life. He lost his first two matches and nobody was taking him seriously. Suddenly, enter Mirage and things changed very quickly."
"People noticed me immediately. When I stepped into that ring and absolutely obliterated Landon Cross, people took notice. Even on the following show, when I lost to Malcolm Drake, I made an impact. Quite simply, I was able to do something that Daniel wasn't and that is get noticed."
"It's all about the bigger picture, though. You win some matches, maybe get yourself a championship, and people notice you. Then, you do what needs to be done. Once you've got all these people watching you, you can finally deliver your message. Although, some messages can only be delivered through actions. I can sit here and say what I want from all of you. I have. That doesn’t accomplish anything. But when I let my actions speak for themselves, then you finally hear me."
"Now, I'm not going to go on and on about my three opponents in this match. Truthfully, only one of them holds my interest right now. Chaz Holiday, the Mid-Atlantic Legacy Champion. Soon, we meet in tag team action, but on December twentieth, we meet one on one. At Final Frontier, you put your championship on the line against me in a match I earned by defeating Noelle Smith. It will be something spectacular, I can guarantee you that, Chaz. You are the exact definition of what I'm out to destroy. You act so friendly and upbeat, but I know the truth. It is nothing more than what I just said - an act."
"You are no saint, Chaz. You, just like everyone else in this World, are a heathen. What I want from you is simple. I want you to embrace what you are; what you - truly - are. We bleed the same blood, Chaz. All of us do. We are the same. I'm not trying to convert you into something you're not. Whether you want to admit it or not, you are just as sadistic, just as mad, as I am. I just want to bring that out of you."
"Maybe ending what will, by then, be a six month Mid-Atlantic Legacy Championship reign will finally get you to dig deep into yourself and pull out that vile, disgusting human being that I know lives in there. It will be a fight, Chaz. I'm not going to wrestle you. I'm not going to grapple you. I'm going to fight you. Tonight and again at Final Frontier. I'm going to unleash the true monster within you if it's the last damned thing I do. Until then, watch your back, because just when you think you're safe. ... Hehehe. The road to a new world is paved with the blood of the wicked. Remember that."
Mirage cuts the camera off, ending the video.
